I don't know if I should report this here or elsewhere but the download of Chaser on Maps4Heroes is not optimized.
First you download a zip folder, then have to extract it, for then to run the new executable (the ones beginning with the tipe of mod - in this case Scenario). While possible is a bit weird.

This is because maps4heroes owner wants to place his advertising readme.txt file with maps, so in this case, he took the exe I sent, then compiled them into zip. There is nothing I can do, sites like that needs funds to maintain, it is his right.

It is a tricky battle, he has a lot of HP, thats it? I remember slowing him bring it down to 2 speed, so with ammo cart and baiting the battle is just long. Another solution (which I use) is developing your commander from the beginning to prioritize death stare ability (check abilities mixtures), so he dies in one hit.

one thing I dont understand is that according to walkthrough I can fight in dragon cave to get artifacts b4 edrich but I see edrich having much less creatures than what the cave gives me. Havent checked him tho, does he use disguise?
also, can I use the commander artifacts to get extra skills in this map?

In wog we have the advantage of setting really big armies without bugging the game, so yes you will see less creature on map adventure than in fight. The final army is added by script.

I cannot get extra hidden skills by using commander's artifacts? My commander's helm doesnt give first aid skill.

Then it means is not available in this map. Usually this info is in the readme.txt, if it isn't, then skills are get the normal way or by scripts.

the walkthrough on maps4heroes doesnt really help, it just says kill this, kill that, while most enemies have too large army, spells are limited, so are stats. So hard!

Hard? no, what was really hard is when I played it in chinese, so no clue what was going on, then translating it one word at a time. Then browsing the 5000 dedicated threads in chinese wog forums to get details about what to do here and there. This map is a book in itself.

I have no ideas how to win vs 1k behemoths or the town right after that (xeron iirc) with just recruited army, without losing most of them.

what does abandoned cabin do? It says it converts creatures, I spent my resources there but my creatures didnt change at all.

I got one ring and the sword from warrior tomb and fafner, where is the other ring? In the walkthrough it says I need remove obstacles and visit the sanctuary in magic cloud area, I got remove obstacles but the sanctuary keeps giving message about dogs and nothing happens. Released chaser already.

From what I read in the script, first you visit the sanctuary by casting water walk and it says

The minister of the sanctuary is not friendly at all
He shout at me:
"How did you get here?Seems that my guards are loafing on the job!
Get out from here,or my dogs will perish you!"
I see he really has many dogs in his backyard,
I should leave first.


Now you water walk back and this dialog enabled a new event which is in front of the crystal mine so you pass through. This is where you fight the dogs, then after the battle, water walk back to sanctuary for final battle and the ring reward.

I recommend for this (or any map) to use "display events" mod, it simplified so much and avoid the reload madness

ok, I killed chaser, the battle itself was pretty buggy tho, crashed sometimes. Cant get the display events mod to work, tried disable almost all other mods, pressed f12 but it still doesnt work, neither does the 'find me' mod, clicking the telescope icon does nothing.

Thats because Chaser was made previous to those mods, so their data isn't read in its file. To enable mods in some old mod is simple, open Chaser/data/s/load only these scripts.txt and you will see:

999 keyboard fix start.erm

54 wog - enhanced dwelling hint text.erm

I added in bold display events and find me erm file. So add those 2 lines, then reload + F12, now will work (F6 for events) Use same pattern for any other mods.

thanks, I will try it after I had exit the game, now still playing.
one more question: I dont find the sea captain's helm anywhere and dont see it mentioned in walkthrough either. Used view air and I dont think I missed any artifact. without it I cant complete the set and will lose army when going through the whirlpool so does it exist on this map?
