No news about RMG just yet. But I believe they're in. I mean, come on, Duels, Editor and Sims but no RMG?

For you that got a chance to play the game, how was he feel of the adventure map? Music, openness, sense of exploration? And did the adventure map buildings "make sounds" while passing, like in H4? Were there nice sound effects when taking  a chest or visiting different locations?

I still remember that feeling when playing H2, that enchanting music and sound effects with orchestral strings.

Adventure map feels good, I was actually pleasantly surprised to see such an improvement over Heroes 6. No more huge objects that leave little room for exploration. And as Marzhin explained, they are working to get there, only it takes time and probably feedback.

Galloping and picking up chests did make sounds, but I don't remember buildings. It's possible some ruckus was near the Marketplace, but I can't say for sure. Ofc, other environmental sounds were present.

By simultaneous turns, do you people mean that the game battles will somehow play out like Age of Empires and similar stuff? Because that would ruin the tactical, deep thinking side of the game and turn most aspects of the battle into a rush. How will that exactly work for Heroes where each unit has his turn for once anyway?

Sim turns are available in online multiplayer only. It means that heroes of different players are able to move simultaneously until they run out of movement points. Battles in sim turns are still turn-based. This feature speeds up the online multiplayer because you don't have to wait for others to move your heroes. Sim turns are turned off when other player is noticed. After that gameplay on map is once more similar to classical one.

It means there's one turn for all the players - there's still seven turns per week and limited movement. Each turn is over when all the players finished their part and presses for the next turn - you need everyone to finish their turn for the next one.

It's disabled as soon as the players get too close to each other, unfortunately including teams. Deflaktor made a nice mod to make this feature permanent in Heroes V though.

Edit: Looks like someone beat me to it.

I have a question regarding Town portal. How did it function? Was there a possibility to teleport between your own cities?

There was a portal building to buy (was costly) which gave you the spell to use. You could only teleport to the closest castle and you could not teleport between castles.

Thank you very much for your answer. Some journalist stated that town portal works like in Heroes VI and it got me worried.

I think that's nerfing it too much, each of these would be reasonable on their own but all of them togethet makes TP quite useless. Why should I waste time on that building if I'm already close to the castle, one should at least be able to decide the town.

No, it was a question of way. For a long time common knowledge was that Ashan = 9 main factions and nothing more. So you should drop the attitude and admit that their decision to discard that rule is a welcome change. You would've still lived with the impression that the Ashan number of main faction was 9 were I not to ask that question

And about "little to no indication of change in willingness", just goes to show you didn't actually watch the interviews. ELB said that they have been discussing within the IP team about having faction number 10 or even 11 and that they have interesting leads so maybe we'll see them in the future. Words from the guys mouth

I'm partially to blame for being so lazy and cutting Erwan's reply so short. Still, WO should listen both interviews, there is a lot of good stuff in there, of the game, of lore, etc.

I agree with WO, though; keeping to a strict 9 factions or increasing it to 10 or 11 is a matter of will, not way. They hold all the intellectual property and they decided to stick with 9 initially. If they had the will (and apparently, that will is accumulating), they would discard the limit of 9 and work on more, new factions. By saying that it's a question of way implies that lore is written in granite and cannot be touched in any way.

Okay, then we're debating semantics. Fact is that they decided to go with 9 factions at first and made a rule out of it, which everyone, WO included, kept pointing fingers at. Now, after I asked the question, they said that they have RECENTLY discussed things to theorize faction number 10 or 11, effectively discarding the old rule. That's all there is to it. Picking on the fact that I said "is there no way around that" when it's apparently a matter of will is just picking on semantics and missing the point completely.

It seems that 9 factions rule was created not so for the world itself, but for the developers which came with their own ideas. People who're familiar with Ashan lore know that this rule may be bended - actually, we already have (not playable yet) 10th faction in Heroes Online - the Void (the amalgamation of pretty much all factions).
We also have pirates, which are for the time being affiliated with the Orcs, and the Free Cities.
Not to mention that Lizardmen are somewhere there and there is a region called Myr-Gathal on the map...

Yep. As they said they have interesting leads. Void faction could become a thing in Heroes. There's still the Free Cities that could be transformed into a faction. And the Lizardmen of course.
