Known HMM4 bugs

When playing for Stronghold if u press learn spell inside the town BOOM -operating system-restart game.

bugs

got several more -

a: resourses scrambled in all the external dwellings . say u have 20 wood and 50 ore it reads 50 wood and 20 ore .

b: if graal happens to be under a builduing no chance to get it .

c: if u have 2 units and 1 dies , and u  resurrect them  using angels game offers to resurrect ... 2 units  , though the spell itself works ok 1 unit is up.

d: if u cast a magical attack on a unit recently hit by a ranged or melee attack under the cursor u ll see not the expected damage amount ( f exam. 120 ) but the previous attack`s damage 46-69

could smbdy check this or add their own ?

...hmm, I'm not sure if any of them are exactly "bugs" but I've encountered some difficulties...aside from the game automatically exiting on occassion for no apparent reason.

...it seems that you should never minimize the game. Whenever you do that and restore the window, everything becomes really "laggy"  or whatever the offline version of that would be.

...of course, there is that background music track loop thing that's a bit messed up, in case you actually manage to get to the end.

...oh, and with cheats, I'm pretty sure that if you use the unshrouding the fog of war and all the starry stuff cheat, it stays enabled, until you retype it back in, to disable it.

...I'm not sure if it was supposed to be like that or if I simply didn't watch carefully, but partyly under the fog cloud, I was following an enemy hero...however, when I ended the turn, he was supposed to be slightly north. However, that hero came from the east, and another hero took his place from the north...so I dunno what happenned there...might not be a bug at all.

...there were also some other minor problems I noted, but none of any real significance...unless I managed to just forget it...too consumed to really pay attention for them

not to mention the looping music and stuff

 I even don`t speak about the game`s ability to consume HUGE amounts of memory , nor i want to mention that sometimes it hangs after a battle (usually a short 1 ) .Besides how comes I managed to launch 4!!! copies of heroes on my machine simultaneously ?????

The game is great , it`s completely different from h3  more strategic IMHo but it needs some polish on it.


   Bug 6 playing a company - put your quest hero into a sanctuary , win scenario - opla no quest hero in your next scenario

Hmm... I wished that NWC had kept the music on CD format like they did in Heroes2... that way there was less skippage and consumed less memory (I think....) and it was also very nifty to just pop it into your CD and not only go through the music, but all the ambience sequences! (Beginning of the week, raise morale, catching the leprechaun etc.)

I thought I was the only one!!  On the life campaign, I visited the oracle and the treasure was directly below that oracle!  I couldn't get the treasure, but I thought maybe it was some weird puzzle I had to figure out or something... guess it's a bug.  Damn.

Anybody else get this one??

Nah, CD music is convenient, but the problem is storage.  CD music eats up 10x the space on a CD as MP3's, so to have the same amount of music they'd need another 1 or 2 cds.  And skipping is only due to some issues with Win2k and WinXP from what I understand.  Otherwise, you've got a much better chance of a CD skipping than an MP3.  You can load a full song into memory from an MP3 quite easily (~1 MB per minute of audio), so skipping usually isn't much of a problem.

Is anyone else having trouble with the quicksand spell?  I try to cast it but it's unpredictable when it will trigger.  When I click an area for it to be cast, usually nothing happens.  Sometimes it "goes off" when I move the mouse, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes it happens after I have already clicked over and over.  Sometimes it triggers when I bring the cursor back over my spellcaster after I have already clicked an area, sometimes not. I don't know if I'm doing something wrong or if the spell itself is bugged.

What I have trouble with (although it's not necessarily a bad thing, is quitting. Whenever I've been playing the game for more than five minutes, and then try and quit, it takes ages for it to actually exit out. Sometimes it has even frozen the computer. Of course, this gives me an incentive not to quit, but Mutare doesn't like that very much...

A new exclusive pikeman special ability bug - during the siege if u attack any unit 1 tile behind the wall or gates,  game crashes , sometimes it does if u order pikemen to attack RIGHT tower.

Found this one at www.heroes.ag.ru -
grandmaster life magic , he casts sanctuary on ALL allied units , one of the units shoots hydras - (all my units stand very close to each other ) and what hydras do ? They spurt to the shooting unit , hit it and also hit ALL the neighboring units supposedly under the effect of sanctuary spel !!!  

Another bug re: thief - if a thief has a dead hero (his stone!) with him then BOTH   thief and this dead hero get FULL experience from the thief's stealth! So it's easy to sacrifice a hero at first, then get his stone and start pumping up the experience for both of them!

...hmm, well on that campaign, if you're talking about the single obelisk, it actually shows the treasure about one or two spaces or something away. I dug it up, but it's just some gold and stuff, so you don't have to get it.
...and quicksand seems to work for me, even if it's not the world's most effective spell.


...I haven't bothered to write them all down and record it but there are definately quite a few small mistakes, bugs or whatever in this game...still good though of course.

...I've found some artifacts and other items placed strangely, so that it seems a creature should be guarding everything, but instead, it guards resources, and an artifact adjacent to the pieces are there for the taking.
...also, I've found various typos, and some messages that aren't exactly the best put...such that I don't quite understand what it's trying to say, or it takes me a while to figure it out. I think one of the typos is in the Emilia Nighthaven campaign, in the fourth scenario I think, in the beginning there are double quotations somewhere.

...also, in the same campaign, there is this one scenario, the second or third I think that when you first start it, there are somehting like 3 or 4 seconds of music track that seem to loop over and over again, which was annoying when trying to read the story...same thing happenned somewhere else too, until I activated another sound, and then they blended together and then went onto normal...so I guess this might happen anywhere.

...and in the campaign beginning briefings about the scenario, I don't know if it's specifically set on purpose to accomodate for slower computers or what, but sometimes the narrator repeats himself once or twice...like he's talking but then says the same thing, or goes on, and after the next sentence, jumps back to the previous one...I think because of this, the words go along with the speed of the scrolling text, but I don't think that's supposed to be like that.

Im afraid Im a little bit dubious... Are you finding these yourself or getting them from someone else?

Because ive been playing Haven, and Ive done the above several times, and it has never crashed... so I think it just happened to crash on the tester's computer (whoever that is) and they thought it was a bug...

And honestly, you shouldnt be posting all these "bugs" without many other people confirming them... some of them, yes, are correct, but many seem a bit.. wrong, and you should perhaps get some others to confirm them.

yup i have the same problem, you never know exactly where its going to go.

when you hire devils clicking on the icon in the town screen they have 32 attack and 32 defence. in the fort screen and in battle they have 33 attack and defence.
