Poll Question:
Who would you choose to develop HoMM ?

Well, there has been a lot of talk about if Ashan should be scraped and if Stubisoft should start again. Well, I am posing a totally different question-if you had the license to M&M, who would you choose to develop it ?  Here is a quick overview of each company you can choose.
1) Firaxis Games.
Know for: Civilization, XCom.
Why: Well, for starters-in their (quite long) history they have released nothing but Strategy Games. Of course, a different kind than M&M, but still.  Their entire company is based around strategic games and so, out of all the choices they have the most experience. Also, numbers do not lie-after 20  + years, their games still sell by the millions.
2) Rockstar
Known for: GTA.
Why: Well, this one is not as much about HoMM as about M&M. Despite its best efforts, Ubisoft did not yet manage to release a good M&M game that would receive positive reviews. And, how much you do not want to admit it, GTA is after all a RPG. A good and gigantic RPG. If this company is allowed to develop M&M, then most likely we will get another GTA, but in Ashan (or some other similar world), but that is kind of a good thing, right ?
3) EA. (Or, to be most correct, BioWare).
Known for: Dragon Age, Mass Effect
Why: Two words: Dragon Age. One of the most best-selling and critically acclaimed RPG’s out there, only rivaled by the likes of Witcher and WoW, this could become a potential hit. Just imagine what they could do with the expansive mythology and lore of Enroth. Or in which ways they could develop Axeoth or Ashan. If they do it right, then this could be the top.
4) CD Projekt RED.
Known for :The Witcher
Why: The Witcher. I know, I know, the plot-line for the game isn’t their idea, but come on. This could be a hit. Imagine a Game of Thrones-esque plot-line set in Enroth (or even Ashan). Here ya go.
5) Microsoft Studios
Known for: AoE trilogy, AoM,
Why: Back in the day, AoE was easily one of the best things on computer. And there must be a reason why fans have recently introduced new castles in the games. So, essentially HoMM 3. But with one difference – Microsoft themselves have released the DLC enabling you to  get these new castles, respecting their legacy and also the hard work of the fanbase.
6) Blizzard/Activision
Known for: Starcraft, Warcraft
Why: Starcraft and Warcraft, plain and simple. Two legendary games (one of which even spawned a MMORPG, that we all know) that are continued to be played and replayed until these days (and I don’t mean only Starcraft 2, the first one is still popular around the globe).
7) Give it back to JVC.
‘Nuff Said.

Realistically, very few of these options are really a possibility, considering that it all depends on the interest of parties involved. JVC  has moved on and he won't really be interested in becoming once again involved in the franchise and given M&M's apparent bad publicity, none of other companies would really risk buying the franchise and its fans with it.

Theoritically, I feel that I would be opposed to JVC (I really don't like the style of the older games), neither I would want EA or Blizzard, since I feel they would screw it up.

Actually, I said that because it seemed he doesn't seem to speak up anywhere and I did look for any statements made by him since Ubi acquired the franchise, to no avail.

Could you source this? I'd like to read that.

nah, it's been highlighted here before and isn't hard to dig up, "I would like to make another one," you can go and look for it yourself if you want to find it lol

I voted for I don't care because all of these developers are on another level, any one of them would have done a better job than the crap we've had to endure, but ah well, Milt Spilk lol

Really? I was under impression than unlike Ubisoft's M&M team, EA or Blizzard would not even try to get creative and would simply milk the franchise, treating it like a lesser title. Well, I'm assuming most would actually like it, because it would probably be filled with mindless Enroth fanservice.

Yes, I know it's your opinion that Ubi is doing this as well.  Probably because they made an effort with trying to introduce a new world or experiment with gameplay.

Really, even if that's true that Ubisoft itself views the game this way, I specifically referred to M&M team alone.

Naturally JVC, if he still wants. I mean he nailed the thing with Heroes, we still play his games, not those after.

I voted for EA | Bioware, only if Bioware was to have it. EA | Maxis, which was responsible for the last Sim City, really had a sort of HoMM-ish way to treat the last game; awful thing.

Thanks for clearing up the place Elvin. And sorry, I was only trying to dedramatize the whole situation, in the middle of the usual junk posts from Sligneris and straight out insults from Dave James who hates me for the fact alone that he hates my opinion. No need to mention you the long debates we had in the discussion thread, nor his habit to disrespect me any chance he gets.

Sorry for the couple of signatures posts, I didn’t expect it would generate such trouble and it was my mistake. I will simply restrain to post most of the times if this is what this community is asking.

Of course I voted JVC.

The idea of a blizzard made heroes is nice. They treat their games and their fans very well and are a company of quality over quantity I would say. But they've never made a tbs which heroes is king of, so I think the idea is actualy better than any heroes game they would actually make. So I vote JVC

If Ubisoft dropped the franchise it would be the death of Heroes. But if for some reason it wasnt, firaxis would be cool. Blizz has gotten messy, EA is evil, Rockstar would laugh at the prospect of Heroes, idk about The Witcher guys and Microsoft shut down the AoE makers studio.

Ah, the hypocrisy, the irony... gotta love all of it.

I'd argue that the exact reason you're discrediting my posts is exactly the same, but apparently there's no such thing as logic in this community.

Gotta agree here. I voted to keep the franchise with Ubisoft and I just hope that the M&M team from Limbic and Ubi will fix their mistakes in this release and avoid them in the future ones.

Posts like that do not help either. Getting defensive is a sure way to attract drama and those universe wars are not doing the community any favours. One comment feeds the other and we get an avalanche, doesn't matter who started it. The community has gotten tired of all this arguing, haven't you? Please give it a rest, all of you. It is for the best.

I wouldn't give the franchise to any AAA publisher/developer, especially:

EA and BioWare, who are now ready to join the corpses of other studios, that EA killed, after they made TORtanic and Cisquistion.
Blizzard, who can't make good games anymore and are greedy as hell (their last good game was Warcraft 3 FT, which was released in 2003).
CDPR, who are abandoning their original fans, who helped them to be where they are now, for the console market.
Microsoft, who pays developers to downgrade PC versions of games.
Ubisoft, who are taking Microsoft money to downgrade PC versions of their games.
Rockstar, because... why the hell Rockstar? That's like giving the franchise to a mobile game developer.

Why do people still care about AAA games? It's nothing more than just spending the majority of the budget to marketing, instead of the game, and then the game is just a simplified, dumbed down trash aimed at the lowest common denominator. Just look at all the AAA games made in the last five years.

I don't have any opinion about Firaxis, except that they are the only ones (with JVC) qualified for this poll.

Yes, I know. I just couldn't ignore it when he apologized for spamming dumb pictures, but then just went on to further bash on those who don't share his opinions, branding posts which, unlike his, had actual content as "junk" simply because he didn't agree with them.

The part you quoted actually expressed no desire to discuss the matter any further - there's really no point in arguing further about this, since you can't expect anyone here to really acknowledge their mistakes...

Still, I'm sorry for that one regardless. I should have stopped even trying, like most people did.
