So, with the latest Humble Bundle, we've seen something I don't recall ever popping up before - a trailer that seems to show the history of the franchise as a whole.
I suppose some of us would have something to tell about it.
Personally, I find it amusing that they're showing us gameplay Heroes Kingdoms, while Heroes IV gets only a brief moment.

Ah, not amusing to me seeing the game I most found fun to play being treated as a 1-2 second joke not worth of mention. If those who made this video had a single giant mouth, I would spit in it while affected by the cruelest flu.
Personally, I don't think much of it - they've shown us the most important titles, like Heroes V, Heroes III, and the one that started this one hell of a spin-off, Heroes I.
Obviously, the moment I saw what this video was showing, I wondered how they would present their transition to Ashan. Personally, I think that this one was done pretty well, but some could disagree.
I was surprised not seeing spider webs at the edge of the screen at any point. I guess someone got his urges checked beforehand.
I also played it while listening to GoT opening theme. I almost could visualize towns getting shaped by small gears. Then they ignored H4 and just like that, the magic was gone.

This proves that Ubi really listen to what fans have to say, when it feats their purposes. It's commom sense here that Heroes 5 (awful graphics, worst music and that absurd skill system) is way better then Heroes IV (heroes being part of the army and creatures moving alone in the map is not heroes traditional way, etc...). While I think the game fails for the lack of a good AI and totally unbalanced factions, I really liked all the innovations and missed then in posterior versions.
Now, for Ubi, emphasizing Heroes V over IV is the way to go, you can even be driven to think they saved the game (we really need an emoticon of throwing up).

You know... Even the most persistent Ubi haters would strongly disagree with you here. Personally, I don't know how to respond. That feels so wrong, I'm not even sure where to start.
> Awful graphics? Surely you don't mean these epic townscreens!
> Worst music? You're met with awesomeness right there in the main menu!
> Absurd skill system? You mean the one everyone wanted in Heroes 7, and literally campaigned for it on the official blog?
There is a throwing up emoticon. One that seems fitting in response to your comment.
Couldn't agree more blood sucker I would even add Horrible line ups to the list! Although the skill systems wasn't bad, the graphics were was bad as the line ups and the music was awful compared to its preceder (heroes 4).

- awful graphics: Not realy. Graphics were in line with technology of that time. Town screens were great BUT, if you mean awful artstyle, with this I agree. The creatures just had ugly design.
- worst music: That's a matter of taste, but there were some hit-and miss here. I liked Haven town theme ... still I agree some earlier games had better music overall.
- absurd skill system: yes. Thank you. Skill system was good on paper, but it was realy frustrating. I would say it was good system, but there was much flaws in it, to which people simply don't admit.
You could add in the awful campaign on this list aswell, but that's HoMM standard.

Better worded than what I said graphics were not bad, the art style was what made me gag
Actually, out of all the dragons, Heroes VI's black dragons were the best.
Before you call my judgment biased, that statement was not given by me, but by someone who played only Heroes III, Heroes IV, Heroes Chronicles and Clash of Heroes and their opinion came from seeing the Evolution artwork.

That's what scares me.
Although I have no problems with Heroes V graphics, I even consider them as superior to Heroes VI (that hair ), but I consider Heroes VII to have "the proper look of factions in Ashan".
