Hi, recently i havent been able to access HOMM 5,5 (64) i keep just getting this right away: A problem caused the program to stop working.
Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
please help! i love this mod

Did you patch Tribes of the East with 3.1 Patch?

Did you install MMH5.5 on clean 3.1 version?

yes i do have Tribes of the east 3.1, i followed jon frosts guide. it worked like 2 months ago, now its just the 32bit that works. i even reinstalled it today

Maybe somehow your OS has settings changed to not allow more than 4GB memory?

I think there is more going on with your PC or OS because 32bit can't be slower, 64bit only fixes the memory crashes during XL maps

hm ok.. everything is slower for me in 32bit, like when i open the shop to recruit new units it freezes for a minute, and i keep getting kicked out of the game even on normal size maps. i really dont know what happened, everything was fine like a month ago. maybe something happened when i updated my driver?

Clearly your issues are so severe they are not related to the game or the mod, it must be something external.

Hello folks. My first post in the forums.
I only recently got this mod and I'm impressed so far. I've been playing Heroes 3 for ages, almost since its release. Now I've got some questions.

1. Where is the Tear of Asha? I completed Obelisks and Disks quests, won the fight with the monsters and only got some decent artifacts but none of them was Tear of Asha. I eventually conquered all the cities and won the game but the Grail wasn't in any of them.

2. Why do AI heroes never flee the battle? Even in the most desperate fights they stay until the end and give me some nice artifacts as trophy.

3. Another very unusual thing (after H3). AI heroes who lost all cities and who face countdown before they lose, never try to attack a seemingly stronger cities. They prefer disappear with all their loot and army, but are too shy to make a desperate attack.

On small RMG maps the obelisk/disk quests do not give ultimate items if there are not enough placed on the map, see ARMG manual for details

2 and 3 are not fixable by me, but I have seen AI fleeing maybe because difficulty was higher.

I see, thanks. The game was on Large w/Undergroud map. Thought it might be big enough.

May I ask another question. Do Obelisk and Disk quests differ in some way by their result? Can they both give Tear of Asha, or only one of them?

It seems that pendant of mastery gives warlocks and gatekeepers possibility of additional skill and corresponding ability of their defining skills, Occultism and Gating.
Additional skill is registered not as ultimate skill, but as another expert skill, with same icon as previous expert skill. Additional ability is added where the icon of ultimate specialization used to be.
If pendant is present while leveling it can consume levels, one for duplicate expert skill and one for corresponding ability.





If pendant is added just before visiting memory mentor, it is possible to rearrange abilities without the need for leveling.

Yes, only warlocks and gatekeepers don’t receive usual effects. Try and see, maybe it’s just on my computer.

Ok. The reference manual mentions 8 ultimate artifacts. Which one is excluded?

Another thing I'd like to clarify. One of the ultimate items is called Cornucopia. My confusion is that some "combination" artifacts have reference to "Cornucopia 1/6" artifact. Do all eight of them act as if they were an ultimate Cornucopia? It's confusing to me.

Apologies for all the "dumb" questions. Is there a comprehensive manual that would give answers to noobs like myself? E.g. I'd like to find out how these 1/4, 1/8 etc. items work.

I’ve made unofficial mod for Might & Magic Heroes 5.5.
The main purpose of light-and-dark.pak is to address the issue of frenzy and other small things.

In HOMM 5 TOTE frenzy is too powerful and in latest Might & Magic Heroes 5.5 RC9b, frenzy is target friendly. I suppose frenzy being target friendly is good thing if you use MMH 5.5 for LAN multiplayer, but if you use it in a more usual way, sooner or later you’ll find out that AI has big problems with that spell. Dark magic AI wielders use frenzy without considering creature surrounding context and that just takes the edge off what otherwise would have been excellent battle.

Besides addressing the frenzy, light-and-dark.pak revamps inner structure of some light and dark magic spells and leveling in general.
