Anyone having any problems with opening the manual?

I'm currently running RC13 and want to play a bit with some things in the manual interface before giving RC14 a shot, i downloaded the manual and tried opening it but all i get is a quick pop-out of what seems to be the interface opening that disappears right away, then nothing happens.

Edit: it was Windows Defender, fixed.

What is current maximum level of a hero? I have came back after a long break (I play RC13a - the last version with the Polish translation), I play my favourite test map (my own Great War - LONG game, HUGE armies, STRONG neutrals guarding passes between zones), my main hero got level 50 and it seems she is not at the level cap.

Description is correct she has Windspeaker spec. Either the title is wrong or @Magno decided to leave it as is.

Might and Magic 5.5: Great Duelist Pack

Great Duelist Pack is a modification for Might & Magic 5.5 (Heroes V mod) that adds new dueling grounds to the game. The pack includes the abridged versions of New Arenas+ made by Zenithale and co. and ER Arenas made by Erythrocytosis plus a dozen of brand new arenas from Goodwinny. The vast majority of the arenas will be available for playing in game like the original ones. Therefore, you can challenge your enemies in campaign, hotseat or duel mode. The arenas are adapted for enlarged battlefields, introduced in M&M55.5.

To install the arenas, make sure you have Might & Magic 5.5 installed first. Although the arenas are somewhat backward compatible, I cannot guarantee normal functioning on the vanilla Tribes of the East version of the game.
Having done that, go to the main folder with Heroes V ToTE and unpack Goodwinny Arena Mix.h5u file inside the archive to the UserMod directory. After that, you can verify if the arenas are installed by going to the duel mode (or 3 vs 3 mode) and selecting the desirable arena from the drop-down menu.

These arenas are made by a number of people, including Zenithale, "Эритроцитоз" (Erythrocytosis), ArchWarl0ck, Ciante, DarkCrystal, mamgaeater, Warmonger, WKS and Goodwinny. The compilation of all the arenas into one pack, as well as minor tweakings are made by Goodwinny.

Witch hut skills

Hey, everyone. First things first - long-time reader, first-time poster. Thanks for the phenomenal mod, it has really rejuvenated my love for the game.

Now for my likely stupid question - can the Witch Hut teach Death Knights the Necromancy skill? I know they can learn it naturally as they level up and I know Necromancers and Nethermages can learn it from a Witch Hut. However, I've never had a Witch Hut give Necromancy to a Death Knight. I just tried 100+ times by restarting a map with a hut next to the town - not once. It offers Necromancy to other heroes but when I visit with my Death Knight the same hut switches Necromancy for another skill.

Is this a bug, a feature, or am I insanely unlucky? Each hut offers 2 tries out of 12 possible skills, it shouldn't be that unlikely...

Anyway, thanks again for the mod and for the help.

Which version of the mod?
In RC13a which huts had some specific class skills missed and Necromancy for Might heroes is indeed such skill.
In RC14B6 this should be fixed.

The latest beta, RC14... (just checked - "Version: 5.64 Beta 6, that's the latest one right?)

So, I'm just hilariously unlucky? Cause I've visited quite a few witch huts since then and still no Necromancy. And I literally had a few instances of a hut giving Necromancy to another character and then offering War machines to my Death knight.

Thank you, mister Dreadknight. The idea of subchannel sounds good to me, although I am a bit hesitant about my dedication to devote a lot of time into the arenas. Let's try it out and see how it goes, after all, it can be cancelled anytime.

Thanks, yes it took some time, our Christmas release got delayed to new years and then after new years, but it is finally here and it is a larger than usual update.

This update will revise the whole artifact system and adds 46 new artifacts and a new skillbook system with 22 skillbooks. There will be many new artifact effects, new auto-quests, more ultimate artifacts, more half-set bonuses and an optional feature for consumable mana and move potions (disabled by default). All artifact text and set artifact text have been redone with uniform formatting to make them easier to read. The Morale stat will be more valuable from this release onward, since armies now have only +1 by default instead of +2.

This version is still a beta and DOES NOT include campaigns, it seems completely stable, this is only about testing design choices. If the exe file gives an Antivirus warning, this is because of extensive reverse engineering and nothing to worry about.

I would like to put a reminder we have a new system on discord that makes it easier to find online players, You can become a 'chieftain' by clicking on an emoji and then have permission to ping other 'chieftains' interested in a game. When a sufficient amount of chieftains has signed up, it should be much easier to find players.

Also important notice for using the Advanced RMG in RC15, the monster strength and experience settings are rebalanced to make all parameters useful (medium monsters=old strong) and mapmixer now uses a better method to activate scripts (prevents loading bug in LAN)

H5.5 on laptop

Hi folks,


At least 2 years that I did'nt come to visit this forum. Hope you're fine!

I'm still on the RC9B version and very happy with it. I was thinking of installing H5.5 on my laptop (i7 7600u and HD graphic 620). A chance that I can play comfortably on huge maps with graphics options to the max?

For normal H5 I'd say yes, but 5.5 has higher res textures, and I think your laptop might struggle to keep high fps.

 Changes in this release  

AI Update - replaced the simple start bonus system in the custom game menu with a new game mode system which gives
Effectively 16 difficulty levels including much easier and better working harder difficulties.
Ability to easily team up all AI players against yourself for an exceptional challenge (that also reduces the calculation time of the turns)
All AI heroes can be set to never flee and fight you to the death.
All AI heroes can be set to unlootable, this prevents human players from snowballing and motivates exploration, works especially well on very large maps with too much inventory clutter. Also note that in H55 battle sites reset quickly for players that did not originally plunder it.
In games with only human players you can still use the settings as start bonus only.
In games with multiple humans + AI players, it is recommended to set the same mode for all players otherwise it is not 100% certain, but in most cases the easiest selected will be prioritize.

Governance
Fixed Regalia of the Legion not working on governors if growth was already boosted by default bonus. When governors equip a regalia of the legion artifact the gained bonus is now shown among the growth stats for all tiers in the town management screen!


Potions
Now if potions are activated in MMH55-Settings.pak all starting heroes receive a free mana potion to make clear it is active (potions are added to artifact pools, but randomly you may not find any of them)


Mapmixer
ThGryphn has updated mapmixer with better customization of neutral stack size


Other fixes
we got a new logo in game lobby (by forestsnownikita)
changed amount of experience gained from Helmet of Heavenly Enlightenment to be much stronger on high level heroes and much weaker on low level ones.
changed cursed artifacts are now transferable to secondary heroes and rarity is increased to 1 in a 100 battle sites.
fixed not getting the cornucopia for collecting all resource artifacts and not getting phoenixes for dissolving it.
fixed mana giving artifacts not working when two of the same type were equipped simultaneous
fixed orb of prophet not recognized as part of the prophet set
fixed some minor txt issues on artifacts and the desc of golem magnetism
fixed witch huts refusing to fill last skillslot
fixed witch huts trying to give a skill if the hero already has 8.
optimized Tavern UI to be in sync with hero inventory updates from RC14 (credits: ThGryphn)

I put the RC15's exe in the RC9C's "/bin",I got a crash.(start game then press 'S' open the skill page, then game crash)
