Those one time bonuses are just addition to what you get.
Basically each perk is considered 2 primary stats so the 10% hp bonus for the next combat is just bonus to the skill. Nothing more.

BTW "Defend Us All" in Rc5a is still not working.
Last game, I had a governor who picked it up. he had 35 tier 1 upgraded goblins and after picking it up there were still 35.

I checked Facebook's mod page and Tungle.
On FB profile there is nowhere a room or whatever for meeting online.
I installed Tungle, found 40 people but most of them is dead or play pure 3.1 (5.0).
Is there something better than Tungle? This app really sucks balls deeply

Tunngle is working fine for MMH5.5 LAN play. It's functional. Does not have to be "fancy", it only needs to be working

Although I must agree that there is no "proper" place to meet, and chat with other MMH5.5 players, yet. Something like a "game chat room". Dredknight was talking about making a channel on fb or something... but what we can do for now is a conversation group on fb. One can also send messages here on this forum; Or use moddb for comments and reviews...

I am sure that the community can come up with something, just give your thoughts and suggestions.

@gryphs & dredknight:

I need to recode defend us all, as it only gives 2 goblins if you have the defense skill.

most one-time bonuses are hard-coded, but they don't hurt anyway. shamanism is good enough, academy award and graduate are supposed to be a little weak.

Hi Forsberg,

Tunngle is awesome and very stable program we all play through it.

It is correct that most of the guys there play Tote. I will make a poll on the FB page to ask what people expect as a online platform for arranging games and get to work on that.

You can contact me on skype so I can find a few peeps to play with. I will send it as PM

Hi all, first post here.

I actually bought this game back when it came out, and then the expansion.  My friend and I would play against the AI.

Anyway, I decided to play some older games and of course, I looked for mods.  Mods make every game better.

When I read that the AI turns would be faster I was thrilled.  Now, I don't remember how long they used to take, but even with the AI look ahead at the lowest setting (and I really wish the game would remember my settings) They still take far longer than on HoMM3.

I really wish there was a much faster combat speed setting.  I love to watch the battles, but they are so slow that I always use quick combat.  I do really like that quick combat is (usually) always the same result as if you started the fight and used auto combat.

The options menu says it's 6.0x speed, but it still feels slow.  15x would be more like it.

My only real gripe, besides the slow combat animations, is the map select screen.  When I fire the game up, I just want a random map.  I don't want to see all the pre-made maps, and I don't want to have to create and save the random map every time.

I know this isn't part of the mod, but I just wish there was an option for clicking once and starting a game on a random map.

I guess this is where I say, thanks for the mod, and keep at it!  H5 is a great game, despite some annoying things, and the 3d aspect.

I guess I should elaborate on the annoying things, just incase you are in a position to fix some of these things.

For one, the necro skill.  I shouldn't have to split the armies to satisfy my res limit.  The game should just be smart enough to transfer the max amount and leave the rest there.  What kinda dumb ass programmed this game?

Haven's special ability is a joke.  I remember when the game came out, you could train as much as you wanted, and to any creature.  Now it's basically useless.  Again, having to split your army to train, and the thing doesn't care if you are making archers and griffins, it's still 20 max each week.  What a piece of snow.

I played stronghold earlier, which I remember being quite good.  I had about 15 cyclops, throwing goblins, and doing pathetic damage.  Were they nerfed or something?

Sylvan's ability has to be the worst.  It's so bad, I can't bring myself to play as them.  Not only do you have to invest skill points into being able to use it, it's only good against your opponent, unless you're very lucky with the creeps being the same faction.

Academy's forging ability is nice, I like it.  Much like Fortress, it gives you an outlet for what is sure to be, excess resources (non-gold).  I find myself playing these 2 factions the most simply due to their race skill.

Well, if you actually read this, respond with what I've got wrong.  BTW, I've uploaded some videos with this mod if anyone's bored enough to check 'em out.  https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_-aSjojGQK3VWV9aw0HE2RbKTwKfNios

Cyclops are not real shooters they have half damage penalty (besides the broken arrow). They were good before because the system was broken so the whole race was very overpowered. Now they are fine.

H3 AI is a lot faster and also a lot dumber.

No this is a very powerful special with up to 20 paladins extra a week.

It's not bad, but tedious to use, therefore warden and druid class in H5.5 don't use it, so you can play sylvan now.

@dredknight - will contact later, I play now on the laptop

@magnomagus - yeah I guess AI in H5 is more complex but we have powerful CPUs.
Where does a limitation stand? I can't believe i5 4-core CPU cannot do fast calculations - H5 is not physics simulator to calculate real time factors.
We have just plain statistics, it is quite hard to understand why AI is still slow even on dumbest setting (I cannot defeat higher ones )

Only Quantomas can answer this question, but for starters it doesn't support multicore, so that won't help you. Also the Quick-Combat calculations are much more complex. I know they are still off, but much less than H3/4 actually. Notice for example how long it takes the computer to give the combat result when you fight the main hero of another player in quick-combat.

Now I think of it for a lot of stuff it wouldn't work as they must be connected with the tiles from the RMG.

use PRT instead:

I am enjoying the original H5 campaigns thus far.

I was thinking of also playing a map to experience the full MMH5.5 experience; so I had a look through the custom game maps.
Many say they are for multiple players; can they be played single player?

Can you guys recommend a map that would be a good intro into the full MMH5.5 experience for a relative novice

ps: Is the map Power of Dragons part of MMH5.5?
I think I had it in the map folder before I installed MMH5.5 because I had installed the AI mod and it came with it.

pps: it just occurred to me that maybe the fact that I had previously installed the AI mod by Quantomas may mean I will have problems with MMH5.5
??

You should remove the EE-...pak files from your data folder, but the exe files from the standalone AI mod are not a problem, the AIProcess.exe file should not be removed.

Multiplayer maps are perfectly playable in singleplayer.

Power of Dragons was not included with this mod.

In order to fully explore MMH5.5 features, I recommend to read the ARMG manual and play random maps as only those maps can contain all new objects and artifacts and also allow for longer and more epic games then was possible in original game.

Guys, I have a small issue - don't know where it belongs to.

I play on laptop - i5 2.3Ghz, 8 GB RAM, external GPU nVidia GT520MX 1 GB.

I play on lowest settings.

I have issue - for most of the time game is almost smooth - what I mean almost I feel it is not completely smoothly.
Example 30 seconds is a bit choppy, next 10 second is ultra smooth like I would have played at another computer.
Changing settings to highest won't worsen it - so it seems either playing on lowest or highest does not matter.

I checked and tried to change core affinity - I've seen no FPS gain.

What can cause local frame rate drops while few seconds later it is smooth as silk?
My CPU does not lower its speed, as temperature is not high (75*C max, while CPU degreades speed at 90*C).

I think my specs are more than enough for silk playing, the worst are these jumps: chop chop chop-smooth smooth smooth - chop chop chop - smooth smooth smooth.
