Prayer doesn't work on golems even after taking Artificial Glory.
Is it intended behaviour?

thanks, but having trouble finding defaultstat.xdb.  I assume it's in a .pak file, could you tell me which one and where it's at?  thanks.

edit: think I just found it

data/data.pak/GameMechanics/RPGStats

Is there a best way to view this?  notepad is a bit of a mess.

edit 2: it works.  it happens to be one of the first things in the file, I had to save it to the desktop and then copy it into the .pak and it works.  thanks!

Guys, I finished campaign and I am looking for custom made maps (not random made).
Are those maps for 5.0 fully compatible with 5.5? Perhaps there are dedicated for 5.5?

@Strigvir: prayer is a 'spell' that cannot be cast on mechanical creatures, so from source code perspective: yes.

@Forsberg: if the map has no scripts: yes, otherwise possibly. There are no dedicated maps that i know of.

I've tried this battle several times, and this is the best result that I came up with: haven vs fortress Turns out the best way to deal with fortress together with their runes/abilities (no retaliation, fear, double hit, hit all adjusted targets, charge...) is:
- have Summoning Magic (or tome of summoning like in this case) and
- get rid of enemy fortress archers, while keeping yours in full number,
and summon a copy of your best archer stack,
- block enemy fortress melee units (either with summoning spell or with spendable creature stack)
- use your archers to decimate enemy strong melee creatures.

Other than that Fortress in late game is veeeeery strong in open (head on) fight. They simply humiliated my haven army in some other variations of this battle.

Guys is there way to quick look what a certain talent or ability does? When a hero picks level up I often do not know what to choose from.
In the Hero's panel (double click on hero's icon) you've got some kind of button where some kind of talents explanation is.
I remember this button in the past in the panel of leveling up.

I play custom map at impossible size - me vs. 1 AI.
Second issue of performance comes back.
As it seems I resolved it partially. My GPU is being utilized 100% and that's fine but the main bottleneck seems to be CPU
I ran FRAPS and watched performance. When my FPS dropped to 10 I quickly switched to CPU-Z... and I saw that CPU is at ~770 Mhz instead of 2.3 Ghz.
After while it comes back to 2.3 Ghz and in the game FPS went up to 35.

So it seems CPU goes down from time to time (I think about every 30 seconds more-less).
The temperature is not a problem, as it is maximum 83*C while CPU according to Intel can sustain maximum 100*C.
So this cuts of speeds can't be related to the temperature.

My power settings are for "maximum speed". I checked it again and CPU power features are set to be maximum and no power saving.

What can I more do? My CPU is Intel i5 i2410M 2.3 Ghz.

Actually, I'd dare say that it is temperature related - it throttles down cpu speed in order to cool it since it is very near max temperature (100*C). Usually, if it doesnt help and it reaches max T, computer auto shut downs as far as I'm aware.

Well, I play on desktop (c2d e8400, nvidia 9600gt), it played (nearly) smoothly heroes 6 and it plays (nearly) smoothly heroes 5.5 (stuttering only on bigger maps when i tilt camera to almost first person shooter view...)

AMD fx-9370 with ASUS r9-270x. I use ReShade bin 7z post-processing. (contents goes to bin folder)

Frame rate is around 60 fps on adventure map. It drops to 30-40 when camera is lowered.

As far as I can tell, two cores are used by the game. One for AI, cause it is separate process. This one goes to 95% on AI turn.

Regarding frame drop: (Be advised, if you are not 100% sure what you doing, then don't do it.)
I may suggest you try to disable processor speed scaling. But leave every other CPU protection on. I don't know your exact laptop model, so not sure what are it's exact BIOS settings. Make sure there are no other programs/processes that can take CPU time when playing. If computer restarts on it's own while playing the game, then shut it off and let it cool down. Afterwards put CPU speed scaling back ON.

Always play with laptop connected to power supply. (not on battery) Cause lowering CPU speed can also be power consumption related.

That is a PvP battle between DredKnight and Matod. The second battle out of tree I believe. They both are great players, and maybe one of them can share more with us, about everything happening in that game.

@magno: can something like these battlegrounds be introduced in MMH5.5?

Thx guys for data. Now I know there is something really wrong.

I made more tests while playing H5.5. I changed it to window mode at 800x600 to have view on Windows' sensors. Laptop test in my bed with my cat next to it

- CPU temperature 100% has no impact on its speed - I made heavy load CPU tests and temperature went up to 88*C while CPU kept steady 2.3 Ghz.

- GPU temperature is stable at maximum 85*C at full utilization. It never underclocks.

- H5.5 FPS are in range 11-55 while lowest are as you can think while CPU is low, highest when CPU is fast.

- After playing while FPS in game go low, I switch to Windows and back, then FPS are back to normal 35-55 - they back to "slow" after 15-30 seconds.
I did that few times and noticed switching game Alt-tab makes my CPU going back to 2.3 Ghz or lower.

- 2.3 Ghz is not always being kept, weirdly it can be 1.5 Ghz which would provide about 25-30 FPS. I do not know why it doesn't go higer, as I said temperature was not an issue.
Perhaps CPU governor (or Windows) thinks it is enough for smooth playing of the game? However, in reality it is not.

- when CPU is fast, the AI turn is noticeable faster

I do not know what to do next.
When I play nothing heavy works in the background, I play other games too and did not notice such symptoms.
I am not able to disable in my BIOS so called "speed step technology" so I cannot force (lock) CPU to be 100% always.

I was able to disable power saving in the BIOS, which according to the desc would give me slightly better resposiveness.

I was playing necro and Matod was playing Dungeon.

After armageddon we both die because all creatures perish but he is declared winner by the game so my hero is banished and his hero can be bought back from the tavern.

I am not sure if he gets artifacts from my hero and experience though.

@Forsberg: your issue is not related to this mod, it has something to do with laptop technology and the old engine h5 is using. I recommend asking about this on some laptop tech forum.

Or maybe the logic is that there is no one left to claim the castle and change the flag?

I got winning screen after armagedon, get every artefatct from dredknight and also all experince from combat, but i had to buy hero again in tavern ... So the game was just a matter of time since inivisiblity units for me .. i strike him few times with armagedon and then he lost all his leveled heroes i come with army and was over.. we got more better games sadly i allways forget to save replay heh , maybe next time i will do the stream of mine game thru twitch.tv. anyone willing to do opponent for me?
