remove all other mods and downloaded custom maps and check again.

Creature info (my mistake, says Max, not full, should be half I suppose because arrow symbol breaks after covering more than 1/2 of the battlefield... and if I recall correctly crossbowman range was reduced intentionally to half

Auron1st, I just checked this and confirm it too.
Crossbowman shows MAX range and it should be half.

Ok, I see what you mean, but this is only a txt issue, the game doesn't even consider range, range is only based on abilities.

I'm getting a lot of crashes in the 64-bit version on a 4 GB system.  Could this be to do with playing impossible sized maps?  Is there a log I can send you?

Yes, 64-bit Windows 7.  And no, it doesn't crash when saving or loading, sometimes it crashes in battle or on the adventure map (although sometimes it hangs, that is, stop responding without crashing, when the AIs are taking their turn).  I'm thinking there's a possibility of some memory crunch (I have most programs closed, but there are some other programs still running).

'in battle' makes it very unlikely related to the mod so yeah

-memory issue
-mod conflict
-operating system issue

Is there any chance of posting/putting into the FAQ the in-game names of the additional heroes? (for cheat purposes, natch)  E.g., Sylvan 'Elleshar' clearly has some different name that the engine uses for him, since I gather that engine-'Elleshar' actually refers to screen-'Vinrael'.

The names usefully provided at, e.g., http://www.heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes5/heroes5_cheats_names.shtml only cover those present in vanilla HOMM5.

every time you start a new game there is a false error message in the console that states the internal name of the chosen hero.

Well, it's not a mod conflict because MMH5.5 is the only mod I have installed for HOMM5.  I guess it runs out of memory temporarily and then crashes.  I have had some near misses too - when it almost crashes but recovers just in time.

The crashes don't happen often enough to be of concern, and if I have to redo some adventure map or battle stuff now and again, that's no problem.  The autosave happens every turn (except the first turn) so as long as I save on the first turn I never lose more than one turn.

I don't have any custom maps apart from the ones included in MMH5.5 (which were themselves made with the ARMG, albeit an earlier version).

a small idea.
Add a wishlist on the main page with stuff we cant but we want to do. And a brief reason how to be done and why we cant. Basically put everything from small things to the wildest ideas that are really worthy and will make the game more colourful and still balanced.
Here is an example:

1. Expert Frenzy to last 1 turn instead of 2 - (needs to be hex edited).
2. Add a ninth faction - requires strong hex editing skills or access to the code.
3. Make NCF compatible with Quantomas exe file - requires strong hex editing or access to code.

etc.. etc..

It may not sound as a big deal but this mod is a mutual effort and if someone is gonna help he/she should help in areas where we cant thrive.

A mutual translation effort has begun to convert HoMM55 in Russian.

Is there a way to edit available skills? I mean, what's the point of an imbued tripple balista if I can't get meteor shower or mass slow in it, ya know?
