Multiplayer LAN

Hi!
I am playing this mod a lot in single player and from time to time in multiplayer with friends.
I have some questions but I did not find the answer anywhere. Maybe somebody here can help me.
When playing in LAN,we always generate a random map.
These maps have almost no artifacts (on very big maps, sometimes you can found some week artifacts). Also the buidings defended by a lot o creatures (also Dragon Utopia) gives you anly 100 gold and around 2000 xp, but no spell and no artifacts.
This never happens in single player.
We are doind something wrong? It is normal?
We have to activate something?

PS: we are playing on LAN using Gameranger.

Hello viktorgabriel,

When generating ARMG map it has to have scripts activated for LAN.
Check this article on how to do it. You can follow the facebook page and check the notes for more such guides or check the tutorials on moddb.

Make sure you check this one. It will help you prepare your game so no issues will appear during multiplayer.

I might need your help againd.
I am trying to play with 2 friends but only one cand join my game, the other cannot. In one join my game, the othar cannot join.
If one of them make the game, they cannot see each other's game.

Still using gameranger.

Hi Viktor,

I need some information. Having in mind you are player A, and players B and C are you friends could you answer these questions with yes or no?
On game ranger:
- Player C can join and play with player A
- Player B can join and play with player A
- if player B joins player A game player C cannot
- if player C joins player A player B cannot
- Player B can join player C game
- Player C can join player B game

Also if there is error message let me know what it says.

Also I will advise you that all players must disable any kind of firewalls (Windows or proprietary). They mess the connectivity quite a lot.

There is no specific error.
Player B and C just see mesage loading, but me (player A) inside the room of the game I see that B, or C enetering game; after a shor time, a new message that player have left the game..

alright I believe the connectivity between B  & C is the issue.

If any of you can join your game this mean it is not the game or patch level.
Is anyone behind NAT?

Do you have antivirus software and if you do shut it down and try again.

Also make sure all of you have just one map in <game folder>/Maps that will be the one you are going to play. All other maps should be removed.

BTW I just came home and logged in game ranger. Look for me there.

I have an idea for the next update of this mod. Why don't you include the soundtrack from Heroes of Might and Magic 3 along with the existing soundtrack? It would make for greater variety. Is this technically possible? It it legal?

I don't know if the mod plans to add new tracks but in case you don't know you can replace some of the existing tracks with others (navigate to game's music folder, rename and replace).

I don't want to replace, i want to add additional songs. To have a greater variety. Heroes 3 soundtrack is still role friendly of course. Do you know if that's possible? And how to do it?

only one music theme can be applied to a town or terrain type and currently all types are already occupied. shuffling is not possible except for battle themes.

Hi, after a long break I have came back to MMH5.5. It seems that if town development is restricted (some buildings are disabled), this may be overridden after town conversion. I play the Questing for Peace map (only Town Hall, upgraded level 1 and unupgraded level 2 and 3 dwellings, high level creatures available only at the military posts and perhaps refugee camps). Starting players were Academy (me), Barbarian, Necro (I guess) and Haven. I conquered Barabrian town but I have no resources to convert it, Barbarian took Necro and converted it. When I attacked him, to my surprise his army was fully developped - converted town has no restrictions.

there doesn't exist a script function to check for this, so I'm not surprised. One of the reasons I have said town conversion can cause unforseen consequences in campaigns or scenario missions. Don't forget this is an optional feature.

Any "low fps fix" for weak hardware?

Good day! I am trying to play HoMM V with 5.5 mod at very weak hardware - even if I set everything to lowest graphics and hardware cursor, still couldn't get more than 5 fps at battle scene...

Please tell, is there any way to further cripple the graphics to increase the fps?
("super low quality textures patch/mod" or something like that - does it exists?)

O.K., thanks. Another problem with this map (Questing for Peace): when AI captures my initial town, the game crashes. I do not why - maybe because it has a governor inside? I may attach a save if necessary.
