At the beginning of the 4th month of the game (RC10Beta3) on the map with a size impossible with the underground, look ahead impossible, the level of difficulty impossible, I encountered the cursor flickering issue (I start with MMH55_64.exe)
After using MMH55_Utility_64 before the turn in which the issue occurred, I continues the game with MMH55_64_Cursor01 and for the time being, the issue did not repeat so far (for now for two weeks).

I found a small mistake. Description "Axe of the Mountains Lords" says that increases hero's attack by +5. I noticed that it actually increases Attack by 6.

@incognito: i haven't looked into ammo before, so i will.

@dredknight: correct.

@mario: in this case the utility fixed it, cursor01.exe cannot fix it if game is already started.

If it works at all it must be from day 1, i also realize if it works i won't expect many reports because there isn't much to report as long as it works, so i guess i like to hear nothing.

I got response from the guy that guy that I gave cursor01.exe.
when he started  using the cursor01.exe his game started crashing in the menu even before the game has started. Here is his response without edit.


"Game launched normally and I choose to run a new game with the same settings than before. I took the same map (6P Triangle) and move the pointer cursor on top of the "start game"-button. Then it changed to windows normal white cursor. The button was only section where this occured. Right after click to start the game it crashed and screen went back. I had to hit the restart-button. After Windows relaunched I launch the game again and everything went fine again. I made again same game-settings and started game. This time cursor doesn't change to windows cursor. And loading the game went right and game begins. In the fortress I tried to buy a new hero and it worked fine. Then I click "build a structure"-button and then game crashed and screen went black. Windows doesn't responded so the reset button was only option again."

He is using -  win7 home premium x64, Memory: 16G, VGA: Geforce gtx 1070, CPU: Intel i5-7600K.

ok so that is not it,

but now i have another theory, maybe because h5 is old the application has some sort of issue with large amounts of memory, this could explain the rise in reports on the issue in the last year and the non-existance of it in the past.

So I think full-valued shooters must have at least 6 rounds of shooting (or 6 shots with 10 ini), not 5. Having more than 8 rounds of shooting is less important and not interesting.

I already like Heroes 5 TOTE but Heroes 5.5 turns Heroes 5 into a worthy companion of HOTA. You guys did a terrific job!

Are there any new major features in the works?

Additional praisings and kudos, for the musical intervention inside the mod. It's a real pleasure to hear those epic HOMM-6 themes and some older ones. Real pleasure. (wish for more especially from Shade of Darkness that really shines musically).

New features depend on what the game files and engine allows us to do.
The best way to know what is going on is just to stay tuned to this thread or the facebook page and of course moddb .

Just remember an older post, in wich noticed that "Quantomas" working a project on his own? A mod on his own? To make AI even better? Is this the case or am i wrong?

The grand scheme of things is that he's working on a new game (engine) altogether and his work on the AI is part of that. One can argue that's the most crucial part, and that's why he started there. Slow progress for sure but the guy has a full time job, so understandable.





@magno, how about releasing another beta with all the intended gameplay changes and creaturepedia?

@ThGryphn: I know, but I'm not settled on the .exe file yet, since I can't afford to waste a proper testign opportunity for the flickering issue.

@ThGryphn2: No that is the old QAI, the new one will not be compatible since the .exe file will be recompiled.

Sadly, the flickering issue is still present starting a game with cursor01.exe. (I can give you all the settings used to generate the map if needed)

It was my brothers laptop. It has 6GB ram and 1GB videocard memory. I have a savegame just the day before it happens (maybe you can use that?), so I also tried it on my laptop, but same thing. My laptop has 8GB ram and 1GB videocard memory. Both laptops have a dedicated GPU (nVidia and ATI). The resolution the game is played on is not high, only 1366x768.

Thanks, I had a theory it may only happen with large amounts of RAM, because that would explain the timing and rarity of the reports, but that doesn't seem to be it unless it already happens at 4GB+.

I would like your save, but will need the map too, unless it was included.
