Now I feel embarrassed that I thought it was because of a bug, but actually it was because of my ignorance.


You shouldn't feel embarrassed about that, and not only because information I wrote about mass and area spells not being greyed out, isn’t written even in the HOMM 5 fan manual, but also because it is somewhat unusual that game allows that kind of specialization.
There’s nothing wrong with your assumption that spellwringer specialization is a bug.
Because of spellwringer might heroes with fewer spells could really get in problems if they rely too much on certain spells.

Have you tested a map with water without MMH55-HDTex.pak? Water in 5.5 is 100 times better.

Sure did. The water was good enough for me in H5. Sure it looks better in 5.5, but everything else is worse (again personal pref)... So it was worth the "sacrifice".

As the name suggests, MMH55-Data_RC10Beta_Standard_Treants.zip contains MMH55-Data.pak with standard Treant models.
I just removed xManiaCCCx mod from MMH55-Data.pak that is part of the MMH 5.5 RC10 Beta. Therefore, this file is ready to be used only for MMH 5.5 RC10 Beta.

If you play multiplayer make sure you have all files exactly the same as the person you’re playing with.

Hi, I am in the middle of the 6-skill available game. However I've changed my mind: I want to have the 8-skill slot available.

Is there a way I can modify this?

Btw, I like the old Treant model more. Also, I think that the new objects like wagon and burial sites are way to small to be noticed.

I don't really advocate for the idea of "realistic world", where every object should be scaled to be suitable to the surrounding environment. That way makes the world large yet blank, not much to explore. I love the way H3, H4, H6 design their map objects.

Your mod is indeed great and I am grateful for that!

I suppose by this you mean that you started MMH5.5 with MMH55_Utility.exe or MMH55_Utility_64.exe?

These utilities provide 6-skill type game and if the game is started with them you can change to standard MMH5.5 exe files but you won’t have additional 2 skills.

EDIT
Concerning wagon, burial sites, and all other big or small interactive objects, you can highlight them by pressing left alt keyboard key.

Use the MMH55_64.exe and enable 8 skills option. Start a new game.
Existing games should not be modified. It may corrupt the save and some of your hero skills removed.

I just removed xManiaCCCx mod from MMH55-Data.pak that is part of the MMH 5.5 RC10 Beta. Therefore, this file is ready to be used only for MMH 5.5 RC10 Beta.

@fidanas: simple & ugly = change ambient light, difficult & beautiful = add pointlights

@ThGryphn: unicorns are t5, 3 growth, melee units, apply your logic to them and you will see how underpowered your estimation is.

Since i think casual game is way too vanilla for me, all these days i played "Heroic", with a "minor artifact" settings, wich alter the troops growth in AI armies. Very good challenge on large maps especially, when you meet oposition later on, and you can build your skills. If you face them soon enough, you're almost doomed.
Nowdays i'm trying a different approach, and it seems to work very nice so far ( it's early for final thoughts). I'm starting with "Casual Game", that means equality for player and AI. In addition i push difficulty to "Impossible", witch seems to be a pain in the ass for experience leveling...and if feels gooooood :-)
Kinda like it so far.

I think I've found a bug, or at least it looks like one.

When it comes to neutral encounter buildings (Dwarven Treasury, Dragon Utopia, Elemental Stockpile, etc...), in the game I've been playing, no AI has ever touched one of them.  I can go in any opponent's territory and engage these places like the AI never hit them, even though the AI has plenty of troops to be able to win and has had weeks to go to the places.

I note that I did modify the creature stack size in the settings and wonder if that has anything to do with it.  Has anyone else encountered similar behaviour?

i have tested this extensively with trigger counters, the AI certainly visits them, the reason you can hit them is h5.5 uses much shorter respawn counters for other players.

Might or Magic or...?

Which one you choose when playing HOMM 5.5?
I play sor far:
-Necropolis: Magic and Sandro is my first choice. Later on, some actual help from a might vampire hero, just with vampires in great numbers.
-Sylvan: Magic because strangelly, i'm enjoying the wasp queen so much. She can rule large maps with Treants unlimitted retaliation, celestial aid from light magic, and ofcourse, the power of the phoenix.
-Dwarven Treasures: Might all the way. Powerfull first level tank and the joy of balistas. Accompanied with the new ring o life that ressurects 1st level casualties after combat.
-Dark Elves: Magic is no brainers here. Stealth and let the fires burn them all.
-Wizzards: Elementalist is my first choice, even it lucks the Artificier skill, its the most logical selection for a wisdom warrior. Along with necromancers, is the only function that supports 2 active heroes on the map flawllesly. Your first choice, and a second one, an armageddon wielder with just Golems or Gargoils in his ranks.
That's it so far...
Now testing inferno, heaven and later on Barbarians.

So far i found no real use to select the Hybrid middle class, to start with. I think there is no real use for this class of heroes in game, except some native hero perks that boosts creatures and so on.
