Dont, it wont help. The issue is in the AI. I never experienced it because I never play with AI.

Hi Dredknight,

I left only one saved game there and I was able to pass one more day only, when it's AI's turn for the next day, it still crashes to desktop. And I have disabled autosave, so there was only one saved game all the time.

This problem will seriously influence the game experience.

I chose 4 enemies, every time it's the first enemy's  turn, game crashes.

Hi I encountered exactly the same problem on the same map, did it happen during turn of Academy player?, also can I have your save closely before it happened. It is very rare and i need more examples of it to track it down.

Density was high priority during design process and it is kindoff maxed out, try setting experience to 4 on maps with zone size bigger than ~5600 (don't use setting 5 it is a disaster). Also if you want to make your own templates, pushing the RMG to add more objects by raising settings is not going to help, because it is going to push away monsters and artifacts.

Hey, I have problems - why is it not well suited for wide screen?



In game menu is almost on the middle of screen.

I've never had that and always use widescreen, does it help to reload game?

Hi Magno,

You are correct, among all AI players, the red player has the first turn and red player is Academy. Whenever red player starts its turn , crash happens.

What I know so far is that the bug always seems to happen when a hero walks toward and enters an academy town. If this hero is frozen with the console command @EnableHeroAI("heroname",nil) then the game can continue.

had this issues too.. i think you are missing some files:
a2p1-data
a2p1-texts

download them from my dropbox. Should solve the problem even on HD. At least i got no problems at all when i use them.

I think you have to delete texts in data.pak - otherwise some parts of the game will be german...

Hi Magno,

This problem is not about hero is frozen. I believe this command is not useful for the crash when you want to end your turn. I am not using Academy, so i have no control of whether AI hero wants to enter an academy town or not.

That means patch 3.1 is not installed properly and other bugs can come up.

Hi Magno,

This freeze is permanent? And during the whole game session, I may need to use the command many times ?

That means if we want to avoid this bug for now, there should be no Academy players?  But can human player use Academy?


Hope you can resolve this bug completely without too much hassle.

I reloaded game, checked PAK files - all in place.
Main menu is fixed but in game panel is still no by the edge of screen:

First make sure you are using  pure H5 TOTE 3.1 to install the mod on.

You problem is likely because you are loading the previously saved game of another version of the game (e.g. without this MOD )

I encountered this before just because I loaded the saved game from the original TOTE 3.1.

I had a crash with RC1 after clearing an abandoned mine right after winning the battle. We played the same template before without any crash, perhaps it is related to new items as a reward ?

It was a ARMG 4p hotseat map against 2 AI.

I can provide the map and the save game right before the battle.

I was loading old save, didn't occur to me that save file can somehow interact with the elements of game.
Thought it has only player's data and AI (resources, units ect.).

I cannot gather from your post if this is a permanent CTD = means after multiple times reloading the game it crashes the same everytime. Incidental CTDs are almost always memory crashes and don't need to be reported. Abandoned mines don't give artifacts.

Game crash at blue AI turn. I think AI try recruit new hero. Everytime I reload it same happened.

It is campaign 4 mission 3(The Cultists).

I blocked AI so i could get XP and stats for next mission, but this dumb only crash game.

Edit: If someone get crash at AI turn, open bin folder and move out H5_AIProcess_31j.exe from folder. This make CPU a passive and inactive, but we can finish map. It worked for me.

I think i have a new lead on the AI crash issue:

I created a 6P-belt map with 5 Academy AI players + 1 haven player for myself. I switched off all the artifact merchants in the academy towns and ran the game for 6 months with no crashes.

Repeated it with another map with 2x Academy Ai + 1x necro and 1x fortress, after 5 months still no crashes.

Previously 1 Academy AI caused the map to crash in 2th month, around the time you expect an artifact merchant to be build.

Since Dungeon also has merchants they are likely affected by same bug.

I hope this is it, because then it can be fixed by switching them off for AI.
