Rust dragons or Faerie dragons?

I am continuing the H3 campaign playthrough. However, I am in a bind, which scenario should I play after Crystal Dragons, Rust or Faerie Dragons?

Either map seems to have its own way of difficulty, the way I see. Either fighting one rust dragon by one (with Stronghold as an enemy) and take all the mines, or go easily by attacking faerie dragons.

For the record, I think I heard about 1000 naga queen army. What should I expect in either map? Which map should be chosen first as well?

Hello Energyz,

Personally i recommend going for rust dragons first, here is why:

The naga army map is at fearies. You need a big manapool for it.

You will collect primary stats at rust dragon map. There are also more castles to offer good spells. You will need either force field or berserk to succeed.

Good luck!

Yes go through Rust Dragons. Your spellbook and mana pool will be big ennough to beat nagas (2x 3500) and Faerie Dragons. Focus on getting Titans as soon as possible.

Well, to be honest both maps are doable in either order.

You get better artifacts transfered if you choose Rust dragons first.

Faerie dragon scenario has one spot which requires quite a bit of mana and berserk(or lots and lots and lots of shots and efficient kiting) to kill 3500 nagas.

Also, Faerie dragons can be a very difficult opponent to defeat without losing much, you may need some practice and thinking to get the tactics right

Rust dragon scenario puts you against an AI with strong head start. So you need to save from time to time.

These are the difficult parts of each scenario. I would say Rust dragons scenario is a bit easier to take first. But if you want a challenge then go for Faerie dragons, it's perfectly doable

The better way would be to do the fairies first.

Why?

Because with all the stats and spells you get out of that fairy scenario, the rust dragon scenario can be finished in 1st month...

How?

You hunt to the very west rom your starting town, kill the arch magi guarding fly/dd scroll, fly/dd north to free crag hack and then you have two dd guys you can defeat all the rusties in between 3-4 weeks.
Purple is eliminated in week 2 that way..
