Lost my CD

I've lost my CD. I'm sure there is a file I can DL somewhere to still play it.
Who knows where to get it?

I have installed HoMM3 Complete.  When I try to play it tells me the CD is not found. I can pull up the CD drive in Windows Explorer and run from there. The menu screen pulls up, but when I push Play I get the same CD not in drive error. I have created an image of the play CD and mapped it as a virtual drive, but get the same results. I have installed on a different computer and have no issues on that computer. I would really like to play on the first computer as the second one is not mine.

Do you think using the HD Mod would fix my issues? Or do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

BTW - I would have posted this as a new thread, but the site will not  let me do so until I have a certain number of posts.

Because HoMM3 Complete utilizes Safedisc protection You should create an image of copy-protected CD (CD2) using Slysoft CloneCD or Alcohol 52%/120% in CloneCD (ccd/img/sub) image format. And You should use specific Virtual Drive software (Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120%) to mount Your image.
However, HD Mod is the simplest solution and will fix Your issue, yes.

To make a good Image of Disk, it must be read in a RAW Mode. This means that Disk-Image must contain RAW 2352 Bytes per Sector and these Bytes should be read in a RAW non-ECC Mode (ECC switched off).

This is because Protection Systems use a corrupted Data in a "non-User Data Region". Because the Protection works this Way: when you emulate Disk without a full RAW Data with ISO, Emulator does not know about RAW corrupted Data, because ISO has no such Data. When hereoes.exe reads special Data from corrupted Sectors it finds them and says "ok, i see my especially corrupted Data, go on"

ISO Images store only User's Data (2048 Bytes per Sector).

MDF, BIN and some other Formats store full 2352 Bytes per Sector.
Sub-Channel reading is not required to run the Heroes III Games, while these Games did not use such Protection Methods at that Time.

Personally I think that Usage of such corrupted Data (which by the Inventors of the CD Format was intended to be used as Data for Error Correction Check) as a Protection Method looks like a Barbarian in the Supermarket. You do not use your Toothbrush as a Hammer, do not you?

I have a licensed CD of Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Shadow of Death bought in a Year 2000 or 2001 (it was long ago). But it is a non-English localized Release. Several Months ago I discovered that English Version is absolutely different from my Disk because it uses good Fonts for Text, good non-spoiled by Localizators Texts and Dialogs! Imagine how amazed was I to see such a Thing!

I decided to get an original CD, released in the Country of a Developer, but... the Developer is not more here for a long Time... and the original Publisher is there too Those Games that are sold by modern Publisher do not I like and GOG's Releases are not for an oldschool Punk like me... I can not find old Disks and I am asking You for Help!

Please, share your working (2352 B./S.) Image of the good-old original English Shadow of Death Release! I can share my Disk if You wish, but I doubt that it will be usefull for English-speaking Countries. I will feel like a happiest Man on this Planet, on Earth, if You do that for me. I thank You and wish good Luck for every One!

Gog releases are perfect and not expensive. What you ask is illegal and specified in the code of conduct.

On the other side there are dozens of torrents sharing the old school Heroes 3 and you don't need our permission.

GOG's Releases are not original. I am looking for non-ISO S.o.D. Disk, developed by New World Computing and published by The 3DO Company.

I have a licensed Disk of "Shadow of Death" released in the Country where I live now. I am asking just for an Image.

It is legal to do Copies of your own Disks for your own Storage.

I am not sure why do you need SoD CD image so badly?
It is not an original game but a standalone expansion with disadvantages compared to original H3: RoE release.
In particular, a single-disc SoD release contains lowest quality campaign videos ever. Intro video is missing. Official 3.1 and 3.2 SoD patches are broken. If installed, few game maps will be accidentally removed. SoD introduces problems with RoE campaigns, balance flaws and so on.
SoD utilizes Safedisc v1.xx copy protection. As far as I know there will be problems to run it on Windows 10. SoD suffers from multicore CPU bug as well as other older HoMM games. Copy protection further aggravates the situation.
Few years ago there was a person with original SoD CD on hand. Currently it is hard to contact him.

So, Armageddon's Blade, according to the same Logic, must be the same non-original Game as well? Hm...

Armageddon's Blade is another story. Unlike SoD, AB will not work without RoE. So, If I need vanilla game then I will choose H3: RoE (with or without AB). Otherwise H3: Complete Edition (v4.0) would be a best choice compared to SoD in my opinion.

I have got a licensed Disk of S.o.D. and I do not understand your Thoughts about the Things why I must not play this stand-alone Expansion... If this Disk was released by 3DO, then there must have been a Reason for that. Your Thoughts about the 10-th W1nd0wz are very strange, to say the least. Why should People use Computers at all? Computers are bad, they have no Soul, they do not make Air fresh and Grass green... And You are saying about damn W1nd0wz
