The game isn't even out and it's already being modded. XD
Well, I think the stuff on this thread is really cool. Once the game is really released, I'm interested to see what will happen.

I just discovered this thread and it is amazing how much you extracted already! I plan to mod HVII myself and add some creatures from HVI (ghouls, manticores, goblins, lurkers and maybe glories) The thing is I can't extrude and convert those files to OBJ or any other common format to edit them and put them in HVII. I wrote a post about half an hour ago in HVI modding threat when I explain everything in detail. http://heroescommunity.com/viewthread.php3?TID=36605&pagenumber=13
I've found many skilled people in this topic and I want to ask if anyone has modded H6 and maybe have 3D moddels of those creatures listed above. Of course when the mod will be finished you can expect to be credited.

I saw that a lot of people don't like the emerald dragon so as now I got the model, I give it a try. Maybe I will try to make a living version too in future, but first I want to hear your opinions on those:

Original dragon, extracted from game


Here's one version, I remember someone asked me if I could try Sylanna, so here it is. I deleted those annoying branches from the head and tail, changed the head a little, did some gardening and removed the grass and flowers that just bulked the model and had little visual impact. I replaced that bush from the tail with crystals and added more roots on the trunk.


Now here's a stone version with different colors.


And a winged version, because why not

Some cosmetic tweaks (eyes, lips and hair) of the Druid. First column are pictures taken from the extracted files, the others are modified textures.

   

   



And… Dungeon heroine encounters resources. Some are familiar but some are so strange, like they are from another universe

Just look at those old resources how easily recognizable they are. Also really beautiful and intuitive. Like, these Ashan ones are such a far cry , they appear to be a joke. One's blue, one's purple, and that's about all you can say about them. The names are so pretentious too, wtf.

Ok, I admit... I cheated a bit as I used V-ray randerer so the Gems and Crystals can't appear like this in-game. Still it's possible for the models with a proper mapping though.


@Lizard, have you found a way/tool to import content in the *.upk files?

What can you do with models exactly? Just texture and minor model tweaks or you can make major model changes? I ask because of Dungeon dragons.

It's pretty tricky, I can give you the programs I use via hcm, but it's pretty much a mess

I hadn't touched 3ds max for years until this weekend so more like creating simple models, minor changes and retexturing. I opened Black Dragon files and it seems that will be hard to change at least for me, without breaking the animation(s).

Would it be possible making the Crystals red? Gems are already the primarily blue resource and we're missing red

Just don't collapse the modifiers and edit the model via the existing mesh modifier. The bones and animation may be trickier to modify, since the .psa file is provided separately, but I didn't try to alter them so I'm not sure.
