Well... now I am bit confused

When I right click on copied icon (lets say Heal spell icon), there is menu with like 30 options...

How can I remove the connections? I think it will be faster than copy all the things that are on this list:



Hard-patching is really hard... at least for me

this is indeed very hard and it seems only 3lion knows how to do it but holds the knowledge for himself.

Dragon vein ...

it has 3 archetypes:
A_DragonVein
A_DragonVein_Ability
A_DragonVein_Buff

rest are SM and textures which I don`t need since I have the new model. After copying all above and assigning corresponding SM to the archetype what do I do next? Originally all those archetypes fall in buildings.upk -> neutral - for A_DragonVein and buildings.upk -> abilities for the other two. I guess I will have to unpack buildings.upk and substitute archetypes there and then repack it and overwrite it. How do I unpack that buildings.upk? I tried with UE viewer but can`t make it to work. 3lion it is time to step up and show us the way and get a QP in the meantime

You need to make precise the same steps as I described in guide for Lordgraa for his Boss mod. You need to make a copy of entire buildings.upk (if you want a hardpatch), modify it and  save it. It would be hard for me to explain it remotely. So just send me those files for the new dragon vein you have and I will try it by my self first. Then I will make a guide for you. But I can't promise much, since my video card burned to death and my laptop doesn't meet minimum requirements to launch H7.

I can't find the guide for the boss mod.

How do u copy of whole pkg with all references? Checkout packages ? I am not at PC now.

The easiest way for you is to download the Marzhin's map from latest update on MMH7 official blog. You will be able to open it in the Editor. There is a custom building in this map. Just look how Marzhin did it.

Excuse me, but all that custom content on the map I have even more on my map and I know how to make custom buildings, combat maps, resource rewards thru scripts etc.

Hard patching is quite different but yesterday as I was going to write a reply I made a single try and it worked. When I select the buildings.upk pkg there are 6 folders. I had to ctrl+A and then copy contents in each folder so that in the new pkg those folders remain intact. Then modified and substituted the real package and it works on offical maps but damn prerendered shadow makes it good but not perfect. Any proposition for that?



Lordgraa, If you want I can send you my map for your own benefit only. My windmill, is more advanced and there are other ideas you may like. Right now I am implementing the following: check the hero spell book, lean new spell for the hero from corresponding tier.

First thing first: GOOD JOB Natalka

I am happy you didnt give up and are still working on your map (even with the bug that scripts work only for player1 on multi maps).

I am slowly finishing my first map too so any help, be it yours (and 3LiONs) helpfull guides or this map, is really appreciated! If you can, just send the map on my email so I can open it and study

The new dragon vein looks nice and gives me hopes for my custom objects too

PS: Have you found anything that could activate particle emittors on map or is that just for developers? I am still dreaming of Armageddon spell particle effect on adventure map (for a cutscene)

PPS: Is it possible to "move" objects by Kismet script? I am not able to do that in editor (basic or advanced) but I saw it manytimes in campaign (gate opening, stone moving, statue collapsing...).

I think you should try to edit a texture set for this mesh. Before that try to load the game on lowest graphical settings. See if this shadow is still there.

LizardWarrior, who made the model suggested I turn off the shadow but this screenshot will show what I discovered a while ago. The game uses prerendered shadows which are computed on map cooking. If I remove an object with a script the shadow stays there forever

I assume offical maps are already rendered with the shadow of the original dragon vein and it can`t be altered now.

How to make a boss unit video guide

Thanks to 3LiON I was able to create a boss unit for my campaign map. And now I can release this simple guide for anyone interested how it was done.

PS: I will soon finish this mod and will release it here as usual.
PPS: Pray to 3LiON, the God of Hardpatching, so we all could enjoy unicorns in vanilla game (yes, I got them only on custom map).

sylvan is the most coherent, and complete line up with one of the best synergies in the game!!!
