Someone once said somewhere, that Tower's particularly painful experience on Jebus.
Shoot me in face, but i find it is awesome to play with it on that map. Rich in resources for instance.

As far as Random maps, 3DO is flawed but not impossible, and I also play Balance in online MP for SoD=Complete, no mods...but not too many restrictions, except the obvious.

Please try my map: " Grims Broken Compass "
It has lots of variety, bosses, custom heroes, it has an functional shop were you can buy everything from spells to secondary skills, it is Hard and well balanced and still every team plays differently and feels strong in its own way. It has lore which is pretty fun. I love this map and I update it often.
