Heroes 3 Horn of the Abyss on gameranger (online/LAN)
Hi Folks,
I get some questions about how i am playing this expansion with gameranger. So I decided i write the method that worked for me (and for my father too..)
Well, gameranger accept only the Heroes3.exe file when you browse it, so all you have to do, just rename the starting file (I think it was game.exe) to heroes3.exe. That way you can start the game via gameranger.. I think it also works with changing filename of h3hota.exe, but im not sure.. (of course your mate have to do the same steps to get it work).
Before the renaming you should save the file(s) to another directory for sure)
I have HoMM3 HD mod 3.673f version to get better graphics, it also works well, and my father plays without the HD mod.

If your complete version working on gameranger, HotA will do that also.. Like for me. Anyone else? + or - experiences?
Best tryin' at home first on two computer (and two account), while you can test the connection.
..Because sometimes i met the problem (on complete ver., SoD and Hota etc.) when the connecting mate cannot step into the lobby, just stop at the main menu (without icons).. I dont know the exact solution of this problem, rooter setting, firewall, reboot? all of this worked min. once for me before.

Hi,
I am not sure if this is correctly that I am answering of a Topic but I cant make a new topic or something like that...
I have 2 questions about hota:
1. Is it pissible to play the campaigns of the original game with all improvements of hota (like super fast cambat speed for example).
2. Is it possible so see how many hours I have spend in this game? That would interest me very much.

Possible but risky. There are many reports that playing original campaigns under hota enviroment leads to various errors like errors during heroes transfer between scenarios.
