sure, you point something bad out, it can be dealt with. you just have to get enough people for your cause, or you could just go solo and try to fix it yourself by whatever means necessary. people do both all the time. it's constructive for you or your cause as long as it makes an impact on whatever you want to change. the larger the issue, the larger the impact needs to be in order to be effective.

Ah I see, but that would require one to go beyond merely pointing out another's stupidity, I assumed from your original statement that one should simply point out another's mistake and that would be the end of it.

You're right man, but not when this person can't even SEE what you are saying. I don't think it helps you or me to talk about this.

And I prefer Sith, they may be cruel but Jedi are those who control minds, not the other way around.

of course not. finding the problem and identifying it is the precursor to acting against it. i'd be a dumbass if i thought just snowing about something solves anything.

you're talking about different circumstances entirely. circumstances make a difference in reaction. lol, or at least they should.

I agree with the article. The kid might have made it look like a hollywood-esque bomb on purpose. If so, I give him a A+ on troll lol.

All the bloody time, I see "Muslims this" "Muslims that", why do you give a rat's ass about it? He just moved on, do you have ANY reason to criticize him?

first, muslims aren't exempt from scrutiny just for being muslim, herry. they're subject to the same scrutiny and ass-hattery as everyone else, and shouldn't be excluded merely because of their religious preference. stupidity, under any name, should always be pointed out.

secondly, his parents being muslim is entirely besides the point; they are just as stupid as all the other overreacting parents these days. just so you know.

I was only using that as an example. Do you have any business with the kid? Does anything he did harm you as an individual?

Stupid ass-hats discuss people and what has to do with them.

If you don't classify that as stupidity, then I don't know what. I don't get why this kid was in front of the media-cannon. And I don't want to.

If the device would be seen as a threat to the President or airline passengers it should be seen as a threat to the students.

@ elodin: fair point. but i'm of the type who hates overreactions and overly safe measures. i think the world needs a little more danger, and those idiot soccer moms feel the need to styrofoam the world to protect their offspring, while making things more difficult for everyone else. i'm against overuse of safety.

they had to tear down a rock wall some years ago on a playground nearby because too many kids were being hurt. just one personal example of how stupid parents overreact and try to keep their kids from getting hurt. pain teaches. rock walls are fun. "soccer moms" ruin snowing everything.

I agree that helicopter patenting is bad.  But protecting kids from bombs (or potential bombs) is a bit different from protecting kids from scrapes and bruises.

I thought soccer moms were hard to the core snowes screaming and kicking as they encourage their kids at soccer, even picking up fights with moms of the opposing team.

To my understanding one of the biggest complaints was that if the school admins honestly thought it was a bomb, why did they not evacuate the children to a safe distance instead of keeping classes in session while they waited for the police in the middle of school grounds?

That was the part that really made it seem racist. If something seems to not be threatening looking enough in person to be a bomb that you don't need to evacuate, why even involve the police? The optics were horrible, instead of acting responsibly and ensuring the safety of their students the staff chose to make it look like they were picking on a single kid.
