I think it is completely fair to hold people in prisons without convinction (my bad, even without charging them with anything) for 13 years, torture them, keep them in appalling conditions and release them straight into hospital. Seems legit.

The man was a terrorist leader and close associate of Osama bin Laden, people who carried out 9-11 and other terrorists. He continued to be a terrorist leader in Gitmo. I will shed no years over his "mistreatment." I suggest the Brits to keep a close eye on him at all times. He is now an Islamic jihadist hero.

Well, for a terrorist, they apparently never got any proof to prosecute him ( under the highly dubious military court ). Now, if some random guy says he doesn't have proof about something, it can happen. But when the US government, with it's massive resources and 13 years of "investigation" cannot prove any dirt on the guy, it's hard to believe only their word on it.

Hm... What happened with innocent until proven guilty? Don't get me wrong, I dislike all form of terrorism, but still. I mean, even the Nazis had the right for trial.
