What are your favorite movie, book and game characters?

Name the characters you like the most of each genre. What made you love them or gave you goosebumps and unforgettable memories.

Try to select one in each gathegory: Movie, Book and Game
If it's too hard to select just one name above all others, you can pick top 3 if you must.

I don't tell my favorites yet (i know them okay) but i give you an example:

1. Movie: Ace Ventura Pet Detective
Haven't you ever wanted to be that guy who is so annoying that everyone around you wishes for their own death? The starting scene where Ace (Carrey) carrying the delivery box and smashing it all over the place. What can i say? Simply... priceless!

2. Book: Dragonlance the Chronicles trilogy
Tasslehoff Burrfoot. Same reasons as above! Little irritating at times but he's sticky fingers and innosence are pure geniousness. How dare you call me a thief!? I was merely borrowing it..

3. Game: Heroes of Might and Magic 3
Crack Hack. No one swings the axe like ol'Crack, plus he has offense speciality. And in campaing... i forgot what he was doing there. Okay lame!

Btw it don't need to be your favorite movie etc. just the favorite character played. Now tell us yours! And dr. Homer will tell if you're insane or just have the wrong medicines.

Movies... there are a couple candidates. I love Coppola's Dracula, The Godfather trilogy, Road to Perdition, El secreto de sus ojos, Lawrence of arabia, The lord of the rings trilogy... there are a lot of good ones, I donno if I have a favorite. I mostly prefer drama movies.
Books... prolly divided between Dostoyevsky's The brothers Karamozov or Crime and punishment.
Game characther I have no idea. I haven't played more recent, characther developed games. HOMM3 s definetly a game I've always come back to. Also playing it with a crack.

Off the top of my head...

Movie- gladiator. Maximus is a bad*** that movie has the perfect amount of action and story with a great plot and great characters. Ceaser (did a terrific job of playing a ruthless sovereign!

Book- song of ice and fire series. They just rock. My favorite character has been Bronn.
Ive always liked his role in a game of thrones. Just a witty mercenary with nothing to lose, a master of the blade, and always a step ahead! His fight with sir Varyis to save tyrion was so sick! "Always keeping just the right distance away". Hopefully more fights with Bronn will come in the next books, I'm almost done with a clash of kings.

Game- heroes 3 as well. Ivor and rampart is all I need. Definitely my favorite installment of the sorcerer/nature town. The Pegasus was such a nice addition, it's a shame it never made it in any other game. But those grand elves in the white tunics were the only shooter ya needed. And Ivor starting out with plenty of archers and giving them that extra speed and stats...man I miss the old hero specs

Characters fellas

Do you mean the Dracula? Do you prefer Al Pacino as Godfather or maybe Marlon Brando.

What was the best character in Game of Thrones, Tyrion Lannister maybe?

What was so great about them? I like them too...

Since we're talking characters here...

Out of movie characters there are way too plenty to choose from. I like most of Samuel L Jackson's and Sir Christopher Lee's characters. I also like Ewan McGregor in the Star Wars prequels and Son of a Gun.

Books: Tyrion Lannister. The tiny motherbleeper weasels away from many situation, and is somewhat relatable to me personally.

Game Characters are another touch choice, as I can't pick the "one and only" and since I like the type of games which let you create your own adventure and your own "toon", there's that thing too.
Currenty I like my night elf rogue character on one pirate erver of WoW, been developing a sort of RP thing with it, but too bad the RP scene on Warmane is too few.
Out of already established characters I like the duo from Mafia 2. Vito and Joe are really well made, with Vito being the more serious and Joe being the guy that shoots first and asks questions later.

favorite movie characters:

gary oldman as bram stoker's dracula. delightfully evil, and you can still feel sad for him because of his lost love, and how his faith didn't save her.

brad pitt as jeffrey goines in "12 monkeys". shares a lot of my views on society, if somewhat erratic in his delivery. smart and entertaining all around.

jeff bridges as jeff lebowski in "the big lebowski". a great movie, and a great character. most people could learn a lot from mr. lebowski, they're far too uptight.

there are many, many more that are my favorite, but i'll just post these 3. i could fill pages with my favorite characters from movies.

favorite book characters:

roland deschain, aka "the gunslinger" from "the dark tower" series, written by stephen king. a great series, and one i'm looking forward to see in the future. it is supposedly in the making.

randall flagg, aka "the walkin' dude" from a handful of stephen king's books. he goes by many names, and plays varying parts, but he's more often than not a monster on two feet; sowing evil wherever he sets foot. although i didn't like how he was portrayed shortly before his death in "the dark tower" series. i liked him much better in "the stand", and in the first tower series("the gunslinger", portrayed as "the man in black").

hunter thompson's character "raoul duke" in "fear and loathing in las vegas". this one's probably cheating, as hunter was writing about himself. i'm a fan of both the man, and the book character(which wasn't far from the real thing).

again, i have many more that i could list, but i'll stop at 3.

game characters:

huh. this one is tough. of the games i've played, none are really based on favorite characters. mario is a dumbass, always trying to save a princess who probably never gives him any play, and he has to deal with a ton of bullsnow just to release her, every time she's kidnapped. snow, get a gun or something. stop relying on a man to save you, you're an embarassment to women everywhere.

the vikings in "the lost vikings" are all dumbasses, but entertaining dumbasses. they'll never make my favorite's list, though; because they're dumbasses.

sonic the hedgehog is pretty cool, because he tries to save animals from dr. robotnik. so he's a candidate.

the "jaws" shark(from "jaws unleashed") is a pretty good candidate, because she eats people. nothing wrong with that. you could argue, "it's for a good cause".

really, my favorite games are with characters who you never see any story to. wide-open games where you make your own character, and decide how you want to play. i like playing myself, whenever i can.

Nice one fred

Now i can tell that The Big Lebowski's the Dude is also my favorite movie character. "They pissed on my carpet, man!"

I have the Dark Towers as audiobook on my tab but never gived it shot. Maybe should read it someday tough...

Edit: Oh yeah also liked Gary Oldman very much in Dracula. His best performance is still in Leon in my opinion.

When I'm asked to name my favorite things, I always end up wondering what they meant by "favorite" in the first place. There is a random vector.

that's another of many characters that are among my favorites; as well as the character "leon" himself. maybe i should create a post with just my favorite movie characters? it won't leave room for much else on that page, though.

I don't think I can say anything really definitive, I still have a lot that I can watch and read and play and characters to like.
But here's my two cents:

Movie: Star Wars series, Obi-Wan Kenobi

Book: Anna Karenina, character Konstantin Levin

Game: Heroes IV, Gauldoth Half-Dead

Alright, here goes. My favorite book character: *Drumsrolling* Raistlin Majere!

By far most exiting villain/hero i can think of. He's powerful, jet his still very weak *cogh*. Even when you realise, nothing good will come out of twisted head of his, you still wish he can do all what he desires. Poweeeer. Unlimited Poweeeer! Wait, that was other dude in black cloath.

@fred I would be interested hearing that list, as I have seen LOTS movies myself.

I love action movies very much. There are many interesting stories and many cool cars. I think everyone was watching Fast and Furious. Few were dissatisfied after watching. film. Now I watch only such films. I found myself a catalog at https://www.123-movies.im/ and there I choose a movie for the weekend
