So, Galaad said that Inolin would visually look different if we would have worked with graphical artist, that is tru but we don't know any so I have tried drawing smth myself for the latest faction - Dungeon

This is my take on the Evil eye for Inolin, hope you won't hate it

One more Faction enters the lands of Inolin. The icy landscapes filled with hot volcanoes hide the secretive and wealth hungry dwarves as well as the raider race of the Werebears.

Would you choose this Faction to represent you in your travels to Inolin?

I have to confess that I've always considered this kind efforts as an exercise in futility.
But your creation makes me wish you would have abducted that Erwinny guy and taken his place. I would really like to see a HoMM game with your factions in it.
Congratulations are in order!

Sometimes it's just enjoyable coming up with ideas and putting them on paper, so to speak.

Back on topic: I'll never accept Valkyries as anything below champion tier. Won't happen.

Otherwise, it's alright. Not really feeling it. A few too many dwarves though it's nice that they're mostly optional however a ram-riding dwarfs just feels taken out of nowhere.

Another cat-unit? I feel like there is a surplus of cats in inolin... No Fenris here? could replace both saber tooth and the Ram in my opinion.

You know there is a litteral mechanical boar in Norse mythology, right? Gullinbursti seems better than "rune guardian" is all I'm saying though It's a cool unit either way.

Not a fan of Yetis in general TBH but it does fit.

Like the "fire vs Ice" theme for the champs! Might be better with a less standard Dragon though, thinking something more like a Lindworm maybe? Fire giants are cool.

For Odin's shake guys, you have messed up.

Firstly, dwarfs should not be overly obsessed by gold. Yes, they like shiny stuff an awful lot, but foremost they should be craftmen, with gold and the like be the vauble materials for their craft. You can do what you want as creative freedom, but honestly these exstremely greedy dwarfs is the worst version of dwarfs (and not even very unique)

Secondly, you are overdoing the fire thing. It works for Ashan, but you should work with unique and new ideas instead. Mixing fire and ice is a good choice, but making valkyries fire spirits are plain stupid, and again, works only in Ashan.

Thirdly, the names. WHY THE **** IS IT CALLED YATAGARASU (taken from japan) When you could have gone for Valravn or some other thing from the nordic mythology. Why is called a flame lord and not a muspell (as in the actual fire giants from norse mythology)
Why a yeti over a Jotunn!?
Did you even for a moment consider actually looking up nordic mythology and folklore instead of making this ********!?

Sorry for the rant. That said, the lineup isn't bad but there are several points you should have thought through.

(edits) I agree with the guy above. Fenrir would work better than sabetooth tiger, and mechanical boar makes the most sense.

Holy Jezus! I didn't even know that girls could swear like that!

A girl of my dreams! Spare for the fact that i'm gay.

Anyway.

I agree about the fenrir and Gullinbursti parts. But the non-upgraded Fenrir could be called Amarok, which is also a giant ice based wolf, though less extreme as Fenrir.

The town has too much dwarves to keep my interest for long.

The gem-dwarf could be replaced by the Karzelek, small Polish gnomes that work with gems, crystals and other such awesome materials, it could like this awesome artwork without the orc parts.

Sure takes the town away from too many dwarves!  Also i'm more into Cherufe than another boring Fire Giant.

Hey, I perfers girls myself anyway! =P

But you might be right, it got one dwarf too many. That crystal gnome might infact not be the worst replacement (although I would probably go for a different artwork.
BTW, I don't think there will be too much difference between the muspell and the cherufe (which would be awesome for a south amercan inspired town BTW) as both are giant "evil" humanoids made of fiery stuff.

Omg, we give the Gay community such a bad name with all this swearing.  Lol

Well yes, that picture is an orc, I want a Gnome with purple crystals growing out of its skin like some awesome disease, it could have some abilities with crystal income and summoning sharp crystals from the ground beneath the enemies feet, or shoot shards of crystals at its enemies.

I want the Muspell (Which is a cool name, but it isn't a giant species but a place of fire where the first creatures are born) / Fire Giant / Eldjotnar / Cherufe  in this town to look like the above picture.

While epic as hell, it look a tad too demonic.
I'll perfer like this:

(edit) Are you not refering to muspellheim, the southern realm of fire in norse mythology? inhabited by the muspells and ruled by Surt who will with his flaming sword bring forth Ragnarok? (damn they need to add him to smite!)

I like fire giants to be more "demonic" or "elemental" and Frost Giants or Jotunn to be more like in your Fire Giant picture, more human. But I kinda agree it looks a bit too vicious for a neutral dwarf town :-p

I can do both. But in this case I would say humanoid works best, element after it and demonic out of the question (too close to inferno)

I like this portrayal of the dwarves. Sure, the greed is hardly anything new or exciting but that they accumulate it through raiding and pillaging rather than enterprising or mining is and that I feel is a pretty fun angle. Were bears are totally boss too, so that's something.

Who said they are not selling, or mining as well? they just don't sell everything... not the finest quality... And as you know, you can never have enough of some stuff... so if someone else has done the job for you...

Greed + Dwarves could make sense, the most greedy creature in whole mythology was a dwarf, he was called Alberich.

I found this picture on Pinterest, wouldn't this be a cool unit for Academy?

As long as pillaging and raiding is a large part of their culture, it's still surprisingly fresh

A few too many, so how much would be the best ? Now, it's 3 and 1/2 for 12 creatures overall and if you want you can have only one dwarf in the entire line-up ! Though Artificer and Rune Priest have (imo) good abilities and synergy with the hero. Also the ram and dwarves is based on tolkien and wow, so it is not out of nowhere as well as the fact that rams do indeed live in mountainsides.

Surplus of cats in inolin ? Hmmm let's think about it, there is sabertooth and cu sith aaand that's all ? The Ichneumon has it's origin in the Egyptian mongoose and there is also wolf so also not a cat. But overall I agree that there is a 'theme' if you think about it as a type of creature, all of these above but for 10 factions it's not that much i think, is it ?

Yeah but the boar is in the Stronghold and the bull seems better overall than boar for a tier 5 creature. And there is also this name Gullinbursti which is kind of difficult and rune guardian as a name represents also a group of constructs (dwarfs make different constructs, it's just in this version, a bull is their favuorite) so Gullinbursti could suggest it's only a boar.

Any more than two is too many if you ask me.

Werejaguar, Cu sith, Rkashasa, Lion rider, Ichneumon and Sabertooth makes 6 (5.5 but the Ichneumon is definitely more feline than Canine so I do count it) cat-based creatures. That does make for a surplus in my eyes. Gets worse if you start counting mammalian beasts instead...
It's notable by now is what I'm saying

It's the fact that there is an actual mythological creature from a fitting background/myth that would fill that role just as well. I do like it either way, just seems like a missed opportunity is all.
