Hopefully town dwellings can be changed for e.g Cove in Homm3. I suggest changing the skills artwork to be more Pokemon-themed like leadership being a smiley-trainer hugging a Pokemon or something.
Spell-book could be a Bag and inside are TMs/items instead of spells. Like mass-haste actually X-Speed or Town Portal being Dig/Escape Rope.

I haven't thought about doing that with spells, I would have to see all the spells, though I'm not sure because what would spellpower/knowledge be? One of the ideas I'm lacking in is artifacts, there are around 100 but I've only planned to replace the luck/morale modifiers with the kanto badges (I have 4 done now).

Perhaps knowledge could be 'Trainer Wealth', respresenting how much money he can spend on items when he visits town. Wells could be replaced by poke-marts. Lol!
Spell Power might be 'Trainer Intelligence', representing how efficient he is at applying items and TMS in battle and on the overworld.

I like the idea of luck/morale being boosted by having more gym badges. After all, Pokemon listen to their master better when they have more badges.

PS: I hope Charizard is in it He's an obvious call-in for the dragon units. I'd also imagine that you don't just recruit units from dwellings, you catch them in pokeballs each week. Perhaps you'd have to pay trainers to go out and catch them for you? Price reflecting quality of pokeball/skill of said trainer.

Gold=GP. Have you thought about the other resources? Something that Pokemon like/ are required to create dwellings. Berries spring to mind but I'm sure there are other options too.

One other crazy idea would be to replace to spell-book with Mew, who can learn any move. It wouldn't fight, but it could cast whatever move you want. SP=LVL and Knowledge=PP.

Mage guild=genetic laboratory which can be upgraded to research new TM/HMs. Fly is dimension door for example.

Huh-uh! This mode is quite interesting.. It reminds me of the older Pokemon video games that are released on the older Nintendo consoles. Personally, I remember how I played in the Pokemon video game series with my older brother. We've spent a lot of personal time in order to get to know the Pokemon world. However, now we don't have a Nintendo 64, but we decided to run this game using the [url=https://romsie.com/roms/nintendo-64]N64 rom version of Pokemon[/url] that is free to download. Actually, we still play in this game which we are very glad to see..

I love this! I was about 6 years old when I first saw my brother playing Heroes 2 and that was also roughly when I had my first Pokemon cards! So these two go very well together to me. I think the graphic style of H2 fits better than H3 in this case.

I haven't touched this in two years but might as well post what i got done as I since I don't think I'll finish it.

I got all the portraits and items done, but the pokemon animations was too much. I had way more but I was too lazy to implement them in the game as I fell way short anyway. I have a dropbox for the animations though.

The stats for the monsters aren't in the game, but would have been easily possible. I think the swordsmen have the slow ability and other abilities are switched around.
