gogozzz it's a simple question and you're just sighing and not engaging with it, the guys want to help you, they need to know when you say you want a rectangle do you mean you want the game to stretch out to fit your monitor (Maurice image #2) or literally a bigger, more rectangular battlefield (Maurice image #3) lol

anyway the bottom line is that none of this can be done because the HD mod remake sucks, Heroes 3 Complete doesn't have those borders and can stretch whatever way you want it to and in VCMI it might be vaguely possible to have a wider battlefield as Maurice demonstrated (which will screw up gameplay though), but HD mod remake has no versatility and shouldn't be touched with a ten foot barge pole lol

Watch your lol's, dear verriker.
Don't confuse Ubisoft's BS (HoMM3 HD Edition) with baratorch's HD mod for HoMM3 (like the guy asking the questions seemingly does).

yeah, the HD mod is probably the top thing happening to HOMM3, technically speaking. The quantity of interface tweaks and fixes is impressive.

Oh well, can't say I tried. The only conclusion I'm drawing now is that the guy only reached the stage where he decided he wants a rectangle instead of a square battlefield but is otherwise clueless as to what the contents of that rectangle should be. He got the "what" stage figured out, but got stuck on the "how" stage and is unable to tell us, I guess.

I don't know what foul devilry of Erwin compelled me to say HD mod instead of HD remake, ofc baratorch mod is the god tier antithesis of Ubisoft abomination and should be downloaded, apologies guys lol

No, you can't make battle hexes bigger without working the creatures too. you will run into mis-clicks.

Pics are blocked, just saw them. Similar to pic 2, but has nothing to do with borders or full screen. Seems mod has no settings about this modifiction.

Battle grids no change.

Technically speaking, i think it's possible for baratorch. Because it's just a graphic or window scaling, no touch hardcore. Square combat window looks so ...

I guess maybe baratorch like the current "square" window, or there's unknown reason. I hope it's just "don't want to do" not "can't do".

Creatures design are for squares, not rectangle. You will need to change that, or here we talk about ~170 creatures x 100 frames each, 17000 frames to modify one by one. Because a creature which does not fill the battle-square entirely will trigger mouse miss clicks.

The same principle as switch game from a standard window to any full screen. If this possible, i guess it's possible for HD Mod combat window.

Yes it is possible, and if you look in HD mod folder/common, you will see that all vanilla interface defs (frames pcx) were converted and modified to display in HD mod. But there are about 100 of them, while creatures pcx are 17000, this is what I was talking about.

I mean, when we switch game from window to full screen. Game resources still those pcx def..., no need to touch resouces. Use this principle to modify combat window.

Will you play Skyrim on such poor square? This is not Skyrim's real performance should be.

It's exactly MOD's issue, don't ignore it and lie to yourself saying "you will get used to it somedays later". I said what i need to, if you keep on thinking things to a wrong way.  

Empty talk is not my style, i will not do valueless discuss and useless explaination. Who has the ability and understand, do it.

I said you will get used as possibility, like I welcome someone coming in the room, being polite because there was no other answer possible, you don't expect the author to start a 1000 hours work because of you, did you?

Personally I am NOT using HD because I couldn't get used to slower mouse, which is one of the collateral effects. Is a free mod made by a generous and very skilled fan, you say THANKS, I will use and I like, or you say THANKS but not my square style. I didn't hear much the thanks, btw. I think nowadays people unjustly believe free mods authors owe them something.

I don't know who you target about not understanding, but what I am sure about is that it is YOU who has zero knowledge about Heroes HD mod technical aspects. I already explained you that creatures def are made on an almost perfect square (450x400) pattern, but this detail you just skip -probably because you never opened a lod. It is essential to explain the battle design constraints.

False information, HD mod makes the mouse faster, not slower.

Specifically, it has an option to make the mouse as fast as your OS allows, by replacing the game's mouse graphic rendering with code that uses the Windows API to set the Windows cursor.

The mouse rendering without HD Mod/HDE Mod is however laggy by design (limited by framerate).

Yeah, I wrongly expressed it. It changes the distances between clicks, so I need to recalibrate my movement, hence it feels to me slower.

but i've downloaded the file
homm3  HD latest.exe
i've tried running it
but i get the error
this is not a valid win 32 application

lol. wrong hd. this thread refers to the ubisoft hd. you're looking for the fan-made hd. easy mistake if you're new to this. first you need to add era to your homm3 complete. then you can find the hd mod in the era mods thread.
