It's difficult to help you without knowing what is actually going on..
Are you losing battles you can win? Are you taking unnecessary losses? Have you mismanaged your heroes? Are you not active enough on the map? Do you not prioritize map objects properly? So many possibilities.. what week was it this time, what was your army and hero stats and what did the ai have?

I cant point at something specific because I think its overall issue.
Last play I tried to first create as many creatures as possible as fast as I could. Sometimes I had to scout for resources. I know I cant take to long before I try to take over a enemy castle because they can assemble a to big army for me to handle.
It can seem that I done something right but so far when I encounter a enemy hero they're to strong and I have to flee. Its like they're always ahead of me.
I watched videos when others play but I cant seem to get a break as they could. So this leaves me with a feeling of frustration that no matter what I do I am destined fail.
1st scenario isnt worst either and I know 2nd scenario is much more difficult
____________
I think that as beginner you shouldn't try to figure out the best possible tactics... Instead you should just enjoy the game It's the best to learn on our own since it can create great surprise etc
Asking best tactics in the beginning feels like playing Skyrim and asking straight away how to get best armor and weapons etc... that isn't fun
