1.53 version!

UNITS

- Djinn sultan random caster mastery improved to expert, magic proof 75% from 50%. Still hella random but powerful!
- Seraphs gain 60-80 self-regeneration. That way they can join the battle and survive longer for their DV to have better effect.
- Dungeon raiders and dragons +1 init. Now dungeon has a better chance at might by charging first!
- Red dragons gain mind immunity. They can no longer be puppeted or scared but other spells still apply.
- Marksman precise shot now triggers within 5 tiles. Force arrow removed.
- Crossbowmen damage reduced to 2-6 from 2-8. They gain no range penalty again.
- Mino taskmaster aura of bravery now keeps morale at +2 from +1!


SPELLS

- Summon hive now casts wasp swarm at advanced mastery from expert. Harder to stun-lock creatures.
- Warcries rebalanced! Ralling cry gives +2 morale, call of blood +210 rage, order of chief 40% atb, battlecry +6 attack, horde's anger 0.75 dmg per unit from 1.
- Shout now 5% from 2%.
- Mighty shout now unlocked by shout of rage.
- Mighty shout +10 to hero level. Effectively +50% effect to warcries.

SKILLS

- Stronghold no longer has enlightenment.
- Power of speed/endurance removed from the game due to cheese factor. Now might heroes must invest in a magic school if they want magic.
- Defensive formation now unlocked by vitality.
- Dungeon gains elven luck! Technically they are elves
- Cold steel moved to attack, under tactics.
- Fiery wrath moved to attack, under battle frenzy.
- Guardian angel moved to training under benediction.
- Destructive restructuring! Exorcism, mana burst and secrets of mana the new tier 1 perks. Secrets of mana unlocks further elemental masteries.

-> Ice mastery -> Cold Death
-> Ignite -> Fire Mastery
->Lightning mastery -> Sap Magic




1.54 version!

UNITS

- Seraphs lose self-regeneration. Too much!
- Vindicators and Squires now 10 init from 8.

SKILLS

- Mana burst now unlocked by ignite.
- Eternal Light now unlocked by master of blessings instead of abjuration.

Training undergoes some changes. Max training limit improved to make archer and footmen training more viable.

- Max unit training 50 from 20.
- Expert trainer removed. Counterstrike training discounts tweaked accordingly.
-Training cost multiplier 2.5 from 3! Now it costs 1500 to train a footman into a priest instead of 1800!
- Knights get benediction in place of expert trainer.

Gating also changed. Turns out that gate master was not +20% bonus but +50% because it was additive instead of multiplicative! With infernal loom from town adding 10%, expert gating gave 70% reinforcements!

- Gate master removed.
- Demonlords now start with swift gating instead of gate master.
- Critical gating now gives +50% gated troops(75% of stack) and has a trigger chance of 15% per luck point.
- Inferno leadership chance 6% to make up for the gated troops lack of morale.

RedEmp is in need of a glorious wingman! Surely he must miss the old times

EDIT:

Meanwhile town merchants removed from dungeon and academy as they make it too easy to stack on spellpower. I have been getting 25+ warlocks consistently which is a bit too much Random minor artie returned as compensation.

Adventure magic boosters now give +2 sp/knowledge from +1.

Assassin poison damage reverts back to +1 from +1.5.

Blood sister gets weakening attack (-2 att/def).

Stronghold gains access to offensive and defensive formation.

Battle elation moved to bloodrage, unlocked by memory of our blood.



1.57 up!

Morale has been fixed so that starting armies are at +1, without gated units, summons and phantoms having a negative morale!

- Raise dead now reduces unit hp by 15% instead of 20%.

- Avenger's brotherhood(+10% to avenger) removed from sylvan.

- Warding arrows and Force arrow proc factor improved.

- Wyvern venom 8dmg from 6dmg.

- Centaur nomad +2 defense.

- Centaur marauder speed 5 from 6.

- Untamed cyclops 6 speed from 5.

- Elementals +2 init.

- Aura of bravery back to +1.

Unexpected, luck/morale system has to be reviewed in that case.

Starting morale 1 gives negative morale to phantom/gated units which is just bad. Not possible to give them bravery like the summons, to my knowledge at least.

Until I find a more proper solution, morale goes back to +35% atb, empathy to 5% and banshee howl regains their -10% atb component. Benediction remains as it is because it boosts 3 stats while banshee howl only 2.

Some more changes to come:

- Sylvan now has Light/Summoning like they were meant to! Be warned, only wasp swarm and magic first can be imbued from summoning. If memory serves, hives could be imbued back in 3.0 which was hilarious with triple imbued ballista. Firetrap works with motw but not imbue arrow.

- Sylvan summoning now 8%, destructive 5%.

- Chilling bones removed from necro because they suck.

- Sylvan Battle Frenzy unlocks Excruciating Strike instead of Rage of the Forest.

- Avenger's tree becomes:

Imbue Arrow -> Rain of Arrows
Rage of the Forest -> Know your enemy
Deadeye shot -> Excruciating Strike(Offense)

- Knowledge now gives 12 mana per 1 point of knowledge, instead of 10.

- Intelligence now gives +20% mana instead of +50%. Coupled with the above change, mana will be easier to obtain without intelligence being an absolute must. It will also be more in line with arcane training and other basic perks that tend to be 15-20% bonus.

- Two defense artifacts(+2 and +3) introduced because the defense stat was under-represented.

- Summoned elemental bonus initiative(+2) removed for obvious reasons

- Divine guidance now a basic perk in the place of diplomacy. It unlocks empathy.

I like the 12 mana change. Not so sure about Sylvan switching to summoning but I guess it fits the theme better.

Some further changes to come:

Sylvan magic schools light and destructive again. While summoning fits better thematically, destructive has better synergy with imbue and rain of arrows.

Summoning remains at 8%, same as light. Summoning spells appear frequently in the arcane library.

- Intelligence slightly improved at +30% mana.

- Ring of Shadowbrand(+1 to primary stats) fixed, since it did not appear in the artifact merchants.

- Excruciating strike(offense) added to haven, unlocked by retaliation strike.

- Archmage and rune patriarch mana increased to 36, to adjust to the new fireball cost(12).

- Rune patriarchs now 10 init, like the other priests.

- Regeneration sp modifier returned to 5%. Duration 3 turns on expert.

- Decay sp modifier increased to 10% from 8%. Duration 3 turns on expert.

- Academy resources increased to 70.

- Fortress ore increased to 15.

- Excruciating strike triggers 35% of the time from 30%.

- Aura of bravery +2 bonus now that starting morale is 2.

- Elemental arties in dwarven area to make their destructive more worthwhile. Requires testing.

- Searing flames now unlocked by battle frenzy in offence.

- Unit growth corrected. Some extra growth had been unaccounted for, like berserkers, rune priests, treants, skeletons and bone dragons.

+2 thanes added, requires testing.

How do you balance all of this so precisely like this Elvin? Are you duelling the makers every second of the day to fine tune?
