Some time ago I had a desire to play some Shades of Purple (I already completed it a few months before). After it crashed three times in a row I simply uninstalled the game... But at least H6 was a game I played and quite enjoyed (even as a one-time story). Around an hour with H7 was enough for me to completely discard it...

Well, technically a black screen will be delivering what the name of the product suggests?

*shrugs*, still sounds more playable and progressive than Heroes 7 lol

Why is this horse still being beaten?
Actually, I'd be much happier to know how is Q's project going on.

Edit: "I'm sure you will encounter broken campaign scripts (which activate on enemy turn and thus doing nothing and blocking mission progress)."  - seen as well in H7, from what I've read? In various shapes, of course.

Yes, happened to me and many others, the campaigns were unplayable.

Am also interested in what Q is doing, more than finding out what's becoming of Heroes 7. I really wished he opened a thread for his project so we could discuss things there.

Ooh ooh, is there still the awesome endlessly recycling bits of music when you enter a battle I soooo loved that.

Just for my own sanity's record.

I, currently, have the three(3) Editions(titles) installed on my PC.

Just love how H6 and H7's Adventure Map's Town progression's actually happens onto it as you(the player) get to build it up gradually and, to a magnificent level 30+ status.

Same for H5 but, do not really need to develop the town to its foremost glory in order to win any sized up map.

In terms of game-play speed:

H5 is still my preferred one as per extreme economy of real Earth's time consumption(plays and finishes in only a couple of hours).

H6 is good but way too detailed when it comes to the hero's primary and secondary skills' development. Got me to complete a map in 2 to 3 times more time than that of H5.

H7 is good also and a little less detailed than H6 but, its skill-wheel approach to the hero's primary and secondary skills' development gets things really confusing + is not the same for every single one of these numerous heroes of this title. Got me to complete a map in 3 to 4 times more time than that of H5.

So...by the looks of this detailed analysis of these three(3) titles/editions of this strategy game genre, it seems that our gaming experience will get to make us consume way more time than the 3 previous titles/editions of the series(not counting heroes 1 in this count, sorry).

Moreover, where did the speeding up of our gaming experience went, BTW? I think that I have a small hint: Down the sewer of the forward progression of time within this century(21st that is).

If H7 made H6 look better in people's minds, then the situation is truly dire.

I don't agree, but I see why people would consider h6 superior. More passion was put into h6, with brand new models and what not. Also past heroes games tend to be better than the new ones

H7 was just thrown together. If I had just found out about it today I could easily be convinced it's just a mod for h6

I wonder why there are more than 2000 views and less than 60 votes. And not just this poll, other polls seem also to be highly disproportional.

I guess many people read the latest posts, so they're bound to visit the topic a number of times. I may have opened it as much as 10 times now, maybe even more.

It was playable (at some point)? But in all seriousness, it wasn't good, but H7 came after it. So the same bad concept (mostly) in a worse form means H7 is just badder. Which is really bad

And beating a dead horse? Most people have moved on (this can be seen by the recent "traffic" on this board) and visit here from time to time. I even don't know why... We either wait for the "we're droping the right to the franchise, have Kickstarter pick it up", "we're selling the franchise" or "we're putting an end to this!". Anything's fine at this point I guess...

But I checked that subsequent reads don't count as a view. So should register one view per reader. Unless the ip address changes I guess (since its not mandatory to login), but that can't be that frequent.

H4 at least had a vision behind it (as well as an experienced team working on it, albeit reduced in man power). H4 had great ideas, even if some of them weren't well implemented.

All of H2-5 enjoyed rich and active mapmaking communities. Can't say the same of the next two games in the series.
