Unfoturnately, seer's huts are hard-capped at 48. With 49 the game crashes, just have tested it

Use Era the you can have 10 thousand seer huts, 48 regular then the other custom.

Making a map in SoD, even with all these custom editors is like playing with lego (lego technic maybe).
Making a map in ERA is like building a custom RC vehicle - much more possibilities and power, yet requires much more effort and skill.
Especially with my inability to keep creativity under control

In my opinion one of the big charmes of SoD is that while you have to work within a limited range, there are so many ways to go outside the boundaries and do creative things; as long as this does not run dry, I will stay with Sod (and release one map every 5 years)

I don't see what it changes to use a SoD map where you went out of boundaries, then improve it with Era by adding more seer huts. It will change nothing, except having more seer huts.

For now, only public method is hex editing.

I am working on a side project to remove the need of hex edit... probably release a BETA version soon

I'm sorry if this was already awsered but I don't remember to have read it and I don't want to read the hole thread once again. Is there any add-on that works for HotA and allows to count the number of objects on the map or prevents you to exceed their limit?

When I asked Salamandre, his answer was mixed for ERA (Find me mod), lets you count objects with some passability, but not pure decorations (like Magic Plains). I've thought about it a bit but couldn't come up with a solution either.

Thx, I just opened TEW IV. If thats the only knowed map to exceed the number of objects allowed I'm not too worried, I'm keeping the decoration simple and lots of empty space, TEW has areas with hundreds of overlapping objects. If random map generator doesn't need to exceed the limit even for XXL/Huge size I don't believe I will have to.

Is the size of a map a good indication of the number of objects in it? Or may it happen that when you add events/scripts size grows much more?

I think you should not be worried. magwyan already released several xxl maps and he uses to place an object in each square, but there are no reports of bugs. Unless you are a nitpicker like me who keeps adding trees and flowers until he gets that pinkie-blue-magenta splash, you should be fine.

In one year, perhaps. For now, I'm stacking banks and powerups with no idea of passability, much less passabity tricks.

Is there a way to edit the map to allow for just certain types of Monsters in monsters weeks? Not talking about doing it as player but to control it as mapmaker.

HotA has a built-in patch for 65,535 objects, I would not be surprised if he went over 32,767 objects a few times.

Probably with ERM; otherwise you can allow Week of the Imp with Inferno grail.

Without ERM you'll need to either modify the .exe or edit the game memory before the new week.

With ERM it's probably easy seeing what the wizards are able to find/do.

With ERM I can do it but this is HotA Editor. Thought that it could be in tables as so many other data it uses.
