The Man Cave

many years have passed since the epicness that was my light side's Manliness Thread.

In these years, many new manly men have arose and took the place of those that left on a quest to boost their manliness with epic feats of strength
(Like our Finn Joonas, who now fights multiculturalism as a Soldier of Odin)

So my fellow men, get around, help yourself to manly liquor(from microbrewed ales and mead to finest whiskeys) of your choice and fine meats, light your cigar, or stuff your pipe with home grown tobacco. We're men, and we should relax like men.
Cheers.

In homage for the old thread, I shall distribute manliness points now to the new lot of manly blokes that has made HC a manlier place to be.

Pandatar
+25 for bodybuilding and maintaining a manly shape
+10 for workout tips
+5 for not being an arrogant douchebag

Neraus
+10 for standing up for what you believe in
+10 for knowing how to cook(which helps woo ladies no doubt)
+5 for being Sicilian

Fredmuffin
+20 for military service
+10 for cooking prowess
-5 for engaging in necessary drama

Orzie
+10 for being a lead in a metal band
+20 for living in Siberia
+15 for being Russian. Na zdorovjie tovarish.

Kiryu133
-5 for duntouch me, being a breach of manly intimacy
+20 for having the balls to be referred to as a she
-5 for failing to assert his male dominance as a mod

Herry
-50 for bashing women
-15 for shameless QP hunting
+5 for not joining ISIS
-10 for making it impossible to be taken seriously
+5 for planning to overthrow Val, which is ballsy
-5 for being totally unable to accomplish the feat above.

Galaad
+25 for practising boxing
+15 for spreading anti erwin propaganda
-5 for flaming instead of settling things with his fists
+5 for sporting a symbol of chivalry on his avatar

But this thread is more than distributing some points. This is a hallowed ground for all men and our hobbies which include but are not limited to: woodworking, grilling, motoring, ladies, alcohol, metalwork, great works of literature and much much more.

Cheers.

Though I feel that Fredmuffin just having that name whould be -1 point. I mean, he owns it, but muffins aren't exactly the manliest of all food...

That's a lot of criteria for 'manliness' . Let's see how well I do.

Manly liquor: I don't drink beer/ale, I don't drink wine, I tried whiskey once (JW Red Label) but I hated it. As with many things, you can learn to appreciate these drinks, but for now I don't exactly want to. However, it's not like I don't drink alcoholic beverages at all. There is this one godly liquid of which I take a glass once a week (you know, 'responsible drinking' etc). It's sophisticated. It's refined. It's Italian. It's called Sambuca.

Meat: Grilled steak, spareribs, beef...hell yea!

Sigar/pipe: I don't smoke.

Woodworking: Probably going to lead to severe injuries for myself or those unlucky enough to be near me. Not a thing for me.

Grilling: Maybe with some more practice

Motoring: Without a driver's license I have to skip this part. Couldn't really be bothered about it anyway.

Ladies: I'm busy enough as it is. My priorities lie elsewhere, but I suppose there can be room for this when the time comes.

Alcohol: Topic already discussed above.

Metalwork: Same as with woodwork. Can't do, my hands are inferior for such labour. It's the mind that does the greater work.

Great works of literature: Finally something that is more up my alley. I don't know what you count as great works of literature, but things like Dante Alighieri's Divina Commedia should definately be among that, right? That, and a number of works by H.G. Wells must be the only things in my book collection that have any significant literary value.

-
The 'much much more' part can hold so many things, but I fear that most of that will not appeal/apply to me . It's good that the physical as well as the intellectual aspects are being covered, but the latter requires some expansion. Literature is proper food for the mind, but so is art, no? Therefore, a visit to a museum every now and then would be beneficial to oneself.
-
Final count: -5000 manpoints for me. I take my leave

Good job Celf. this will go straight to the smoker, right after we remove the internal organs.

Dies you're pretty much in the hole, there's no way you can make your way from that low score.

Of course every man needs a role model or several to follow and base his manliness on.

Here are several great examples:

Ernest Hemingway. The man who graced us with fine pieces of literature such as "The Old Man and the Sea" "Green Hills of Africa" and many more.

Lemmy, the man who taught us how to rock, live fast and die old.

Sir Christopher Lee, the man with the golden gun, Dracula, Saruman and many more. One of the best actors we had.

Nick Offerman, the modern manly man. He even has "man" in his last name. More young americans should follow his example.

There are many more though.
