@ elvin: lol, i remember making a scaled-down model of a spiked pitfall trap for elementary school once. it had a trip wire tied to weight, which was tied to a cardboard platform that was removed under the person when the weight fell, leading to a thumbtack death.

if i remember right, the project theme was "simple machines".

I made bows and fishing poles when I was younger.

the fishing pole required more effort though, finding a long and straight enough piece of hazel or rowan, dry it properly and such.

Also made my own bobbers from feather stems and styrofoam.
