Umm, no. Just no.
The "distortion" of the 1968 Stones songs (like Parachute Woman, Street Fighting Man, Jumpin Jack Flash, Stray Cat Blues and so on is largely the result of an acoustic guitar played through a radio (as an amp), recorded by a tape recorder and double-tracked.
I did the same, when I was young (minus the double-tracking), couldn't afford the gear, but it worked.
Sound is important and one of the really great things of music development is, how limitations expanded the sound spectrum.
Which is all beside the actual point, which is Jagger's lyrics combined with that "dirty" sound.
For me, it's about the Stones CREATING something new. Not trying to copy something. (That linked version of Spider & Fly is better than the original of 65 imo, which is also telling.)

In a way yes, when I listen to Jumping Jack Flash again every once in a while, it is because of that sound what made The Rolling Stones, The Rolling Stones back in the day, so I wouldnt pick an unplugged version of the song either. But that’s rather nostalgia.
But think of it like this, one of their latest albums is purist Chicago Blues, cant remember the name right now, and I get, how after all sound experiments, they just return to that. That album isnt unplugged btw but if it was, I’d like it even more.
iPad went out of charge, a few paragraphs got lost when it did but that’s basically the main idea. If you remove the nostalgia factor, acoustic sounds so much better.
