In my defense i did say "for now" regarding kappas. I could also see sea elfs in stronghold as well.

stronghold has the potential to be a hodge-podge faction due to its story about freedom yada yada. so sea elves could fit in there amongst efreeti, mermaids, orcs, goblins and maybe some mercenaries?

He didn't, I did (I have diffrent nick in AC). In simple words I use Noesis with this script (copy it to plugins/python) from this forum. It isn't perfect. It doesn't import animation and skeleton is quite messed.

BTW I don't if it need explanation, but KUREK want to recreate Conflux fraction with Phoenix and Magic Elemental as Champion. Maybe it should have it own topic?

I'm affraid so... this script read animation and I even enlist them, but they are in strange format and I don't know what I can do with them... You can open them in Notepad and see it for yourself.

If we can import the model and textures from H6 and then give them standard Kappa's animation... yes, I think it could work.

Not sure about that. That would mean scripting a new ability for the game. In theory it should be possible.

Yes, that is definitely possible. Any switching of existing abilities is a matter of a few clicks, really.
However I don't think that drastically changing already established creatures is a good idea.

So, first of all, i must apologize. I haven't even said how great this mod is and i have been asking for stuff. So, great work, i hope this mod gets a lot of followers an a lot of help. I do wish i could do some more stuff, but my knowledge on such things is limited to not existent. Although, anything i might do to help, i am all ears.

There have been some other people trying to get new units into the game by trying to reskin current ones and stuff so maybe you guys could try to contact each other and work in common. This way maybe more work can be done faster.

Now, ChrisD1 mentioned warfare units and how they can be changed. There is a way for this to be done. One way is to change the skin of the units. I mean, in Sylvan we have a reskin of treant as a support unit and a reskin of earth elemental as a siege unit. This way, if the warfare machine is recolored or tampered just a little bit, some units can be made into playable units. For example Faceless is one of them and lurkers, or Dreamcatchers and Namtaru.
-The other way is to use the Academy and Haven warfare units, mainly the ballista and tent and make them universal but with the appropriate buff for each faction. This might not be that possible or easy, although i don;t think it is impossible. I'd prefer the recolored version though.

Finally, i would also consider some cross faction unit choices that might bring back the feel of previous heroes games, such as centaurs being possible to be build in both sylvan and stronghold, wolfs in both sylvan and haven and so on. There are some combinations that can be made and still not feel forced.

I understand you do not want to tamper too much with the core game, although, as this is a mod, it is just how far you are willing to try and take it. For what is worth, we are here to test it out and counsel you as best we can. But from my part, i will urge you to tamper with the game a bit (unit abilities especially) and not worry about it

Well you can't say medusa is an already established creature
But some units scream for a change of ability:
Medusa
Ghost(incorporeality or a chance for higher defense)
The most important.

Re-skinning war machines could be possible.
But tight now I need your help in a different matter. Take a look at the current stats and abilities of new creatures compared to their upgraded and unupgraded (depending on creature) forms. I could use some comments and/or suggestions.

I think light elemental is the stronger of the three. The light elemental luck should be reduced to 10 and increased to 15 for the lillim. Also lillim should be made a level 3 elite and not level 4 which is too powerful for this unit. Efreet could have some more might (14) and light elementals less defence (15?) in its attack value could be reduced to 20-28. All in all though they look good.

also the light elemental should have blinding light only at its upgraded form.
as for the nova ability of lilim it should be activated only once. statwise i think articun covered me.

I would say that immunity to light should be the skill it gets with upgrade because light elemental is powerful just as it is right now. I would like for it to het the strike and return ability it had in heroes 6 though. It gave haven a needed flyer...

I like what you guys did with the mod even if a few choices are a bit odd to me. Haven seems a bit more fun to play with some flier choices to replace cavaliers.

What about Griffins in slyvan? Maybe in an elite slot with buffed stats? Maybe turn it into a hyppogryph idk


Really like what's going on with the creature upgrades. adding ranged retaliation to the succubuss and lilim might be cool. I'm not really a fan of unlimited retaliation with the flanking system so I'd prefer no retaliation or maybe the venom wyverns ability reworded to be a firey burn instead of acid.


P.s. If sizing down the white tigers and shadow panthers is at all possible it should be looked at. They're as big/maybe bigger than dragons...

If griffins are turned a recolored darker version we can name them wild griffins and give them as an alternative to the druid. Though the upgrade might be trickier not only as a skin option but fir abilities as well.

Also on that note, i would recommend an upgrade to white tigers to Cu Sith, making them green with white and the orbs that the treant have around it.

I'm really looking forward to see the element faction returning, they have been disappear after h3. Although you mentioned that they will be all elite, but I hope to see some core creatures, all elite seems a bit too powerful.

There is no single tile elementals are there? Maybe darkness but even so, some will have to be sized down to make a faction outta them. I wonder how difficult that is...

Stats look Quite good to me i woudnt change too much, maybe give radiant glory strikte and return and on upgrade add blinding light? Would make 4 skills but u could lower her stats for that a bit and give her high INI(she already has), luck( i would keep it 15) and good movement(also good) and good defense and hp AS she already has and and only a average DMG and ATT(could lower that a bit?)). That would sum up for a more interesting unit i think. Im not totally decided about efreet and lilim but i will love radiant glory back on the field (:

It would be awesome if we could bring the female Seraphs back AS alternative for the male seraphs, would be cool (:

I must say, your graphics look preety awesome. And that was really quick getting the Kappa Shoya... wow!!

I never understood why the developers used the upagraded one with the upgraded name... It feels like they never even played the Heroes VI game to know which unit is which...

Now, the way things are, Radiant Glories and Light elementals are very powerful. Stat wise and ability wise they are the more powerful of the three units and Glories are the cheapest compared to what they offer. They have very good hit points, they have good defence and almsot the same Attack and damage as the Efreet. Thought to be fair, i would create 2 different versions of the Light elementals, a red/orange one and a Blue/Teal one so that i could distinquish them from the Light elementals. That way, Glories could be strike and return teleporters but without the magic immunity and vulnerability to the Darkness. Instead i would bring back the ability of sunburst and give blinding light exclusive to the Glories. I would also make them deal light damage instead of physical one so that it can differentiate with the Cavalier.
-But since i cannot do all that and i cannot ask so much of you, i would stay to my previous observations of making the Light elemental/Glories, a bit weaker but maintain their current cost value.

To be honest, I cheated a bit with the Kappa Shoya. It is not the exact same model from H6, but the standard model with the H6 texture. But it looks different enough to be an upgrade. So yes, it was quite easy.

As for the Light Elementals / Glories, then I don't think I'll be adding another color version of the same unit (though seeing a pink one would be interesting ), nor will I  add a completely new ability, as that requires new animations, but I will think about adding the strike-and-return in exchange for lower stats.
