I don't think it will work with the version of blender I am using
I use a very old 2.49b version because its the only version that works with the nif scripts I need to work with Bethesda nif models

As for the Sphinx...



Something like this would be pretty neat and isn't so distant from the Lamasu design, and I actually prefer the Egyptian-ish look. It must be annoying as hell to mess around with the Lamasu model though, so I don't expect anyone to actually have the patience for this.

Quick question, how possible is it to use the Dungeon mount as a unit is the game with the animations of panther? It would make for an interesting unit i think.

Also, is there a chance for mixed animations? I mean, can the animation of cavalier be used for the unicorn or any other mount for running in the battlefield, the stag animation or the victory stance of the hero as an attack animation and so on? Because then, Necropolis mount or the mount of Grim rider could provide a nice Dungeon or Inferno Nightmare (or variations for both factions: Hellmare, Nightmare, Terrormare, Hellstalion and so on)

PS: I was talking with Minastir about the Sphinx unit and we were wondering if there is chance that the head of lamassu is replaced entirely by the head of the female academy hero which is covered in a turban. Is that even possible to happen? Also, lighter colors in the colors of the lion fur and wings could be much better suited for this unit instead of the dark brown. Dark brown could work more on the male Lamassu

Not with panther's animation, but with basilisk rider's one.  I think this answers both questions

You mean to use it as a rider unit, or as a creature alone?

Though i hadn't though of the idea of a rider unit not much unlike the Lizard rider in heroes V. Not bad...

Another question that just came to mind. How about Dungeon female hero with model of Druid as the Shadow Matriarch unit?

Without a rider. And a lot of models are compatible with different animations.

edit: checked and the dungeon female hero works decently with those animations (still needs some changes though)
- ghost (mask and robe need changes)
- justicar (weapon and robe need changes)
- sea elf pirate (weapon needs changed)
- vampire (won't use the weapon, the best so far )
- blade dancer (weapon needs changed)
- abbot ( I think this is the best fit)

bonus creepy animations:
- cabir (weird as ****)
- water elemental (looks like strider )
- wolf (acts like a dog )

Shadow Matriarch. For the dungeon mount: wolf, dragon or basilisk rider (creepy mentions wyvern and arcane bird ). Perhaps we should move this discussion in my thread? We are spamming's AD's one

Well, we are not talking about Enroth or bringing back previous units and the details you post here about models and animation compatibility are gonna be helpful to AcidDragon, Dogtown and others as well, so i don't think of it as spamming. We are talking about possible units entering the game. So maybe AC will be intrested to include those units in his mod in later versions

I would take take this oppurtunity to praise this mod again, together with everyone that contributed,i'm still trying out a lot because i dont have so much time atm but f.e the Radiant glory was really very well made, she looks very good and very detailed! Looks very similiar to the H6 to me (:

my opinions:

an ogre based from cyclops model(h7 one) would work much better. hulking humanoids carrying weapons elegantly feels out of place. as for the existing cyclops, i think replacing them with h6 cyclops is a better thing to do. they were larger, wider, more "champion" looking. as a bonus, tweaking one-eye head to something else can reflect "ogre" feeling better. why bonus? cause i think smaller cyclops can be named as ogre in this new world... it wouldnt be hard to justify their existance.

gremlins are acctually ashan goblins... i think they are awesome and should be named as goblins if they stay that way.. if you are willing to make them gremlins, they need more tweaks. maybe somekind of gremlin hat and skin color to a whiter green(pale).

personally i dont see anything wrong with current lamasu.

haunted armor can benefit some inner light(or smoke) effect, but not only in eyes, also at his lower body, flowing to the battlefield ground. i think it would be so cool to see those effects having "partially formless" shape, something like reminder of its former carrier.

basilisk looks brilliant without rider.

faerie dragon looks creepy as hell.

not-blind troglodyte as troglodyte... i dont like it as same name but i definietly see some potential in it becoming a new creature with more things added to him. it has lizard looks and eyes, so why not making him more lizard-like/fish-like? i think it can be a h3 fortress type of creature.

kudos to everyone working on making h7 better. this tread has some serious good actions going on btw i think modding topics being seperate in two, is confusing. it would be better if all of them collected under one topic.

does anyone know how mods work in multiplayer? will it cause Problems if one Player doesnt have the mod? i guess yes? missind data would end up in Happening weird stuff? or would it work?

(: the mod isnt working in Scenario maps, are u Aware of that? f.e there is the irolan sylvaan Scenario where u have to defend 3 cities, u cannot build the buildings for the alternative creatures there, there is no Option, however the + amount of spefific creature typ buildings Show the alternatives on the Picture but thats it

edit: not all Scenarios are affected by this, solmyr academy one worked

Basically some of the "adventure scenarios" may indeed not have the alternative buildings. The same situation as in the campaigns. I am aware of that and there is not much I can do. It should happen however only with customized towns. Like towns that start at a specific level, have some buildings already built or have some buildings unavailable.

The reason for that is whenever a town is customized on a H7 map it actually becomes a modified copy of a town archetype. Basically the town becomes not just, for example, a Sylvan town with custom buildings but a different Sylvan town altogether - almost like a new faction.

The AC Mod modifies the archetype (the list of buildings available to be built) - that being an unmodified town at level 1. Every map that has a town like that should also be affected by the mod. But every map that has a "copy" of a town will be unaffected.

I don't think that is necessarily bad. If a mapmaker made a custom town - in a scenario or in a campaign - it is probable it was for a good reason.
