@Galaad: You are asking the exact opposite of the notion called: New.

I just happen to have the same mindset of a game developer: Why making something exactly the same as 20 years ago?

This kind of very obsolete type of game is overly done to the point of total boredom of both the franchise devs and their customers/players of such TBS game.

We must accept progressive change not, regressive change(act of changing retroactively to a past tense time).

Your approach only works for action games such as sports or war based games. Sports and war games are required to remain on Earth's plane of no fantasy type of reality. Very little change must be maintained.

In the fantasy gaming such as Might and Magic Heroes, everything is permitted via the player and devs market of imagination. The more progressive change, the better. H7 cancelled some improvements made in H6 but, integrated new things that were well overdue within H7's cities' overall military growth and self ability to protect itself when Castle status was reached.

What we really mean is: Bring back the adventure map's new features of H6 and add the new features of H7 + adding the possibility of skipping the need for RPG like Campaigns and the pre-made skirmish maps by opting to force the game to make a map with all kinds of options that would make every map truly unique onto each and every one of them.

The game should reach the 4 and 5 Gigabytes of main game coding and, not necessarily stuck in the mere 25 to 50 Megabytes of compacted coding that the previous titles of the years 2010+ were seemingly stuck to.

No, I said I trust the original team to deliver a great game, not the Ubinoobs.

I rather think, indeed, that HOMM7 was nothing but the negation of HOMM6, taking all of the weaknesses of HOMM5 and none of the strengh of HOMM6 !

I have been thinking about ways of balancing the improvements from HOMM6, such as town conversion (this way you can prevent the ridiculously high amount of recruitable troops you can't even recruit by conquering the whole map) :
-Every towns converted are keeping their economic abilities, but each new town converted get a penalty to the number of troops that can be recruited at the beggining of the week, "Resistance to conversion" (- 25% and cumulative) : (1rst town : -25%) (2nd town : -50%) (3rd town : -75%) (4th town and above : -100%)

The modability of HOMM6 is pretty decent, modding graphic and sound ressources are rather easy if you use the orc2zip and know what you are doing...

I have changed the main theme and the town themes with the best quality versions made by John Romero :

Alternative Sanctuary towntheme

Necropolis alternative towntheme

Stronghold alternative towntheme

Replacing just graphics and sounds is not "Pretty decent" moddability :V what about gameplay?

I have made an attempt to design a system of "halfway" conversion, look here:

I actually was theorysing that someone with more experience than me could also make gameplay changes, such as the previous suggestions I have made on town conversion...

Many games, like Dungeon Siege 3, don't even have this level of moddability...

MMH VI

It seems like a good game. A further development of the genre. I wish it had a modding community, like HoMM5. I would still play it, though.

Thanks to the conflux, as long as you have something to reach by earning experience/hero seals, you have good reason to come back to the game anytime you want !

While it's not as good as the previous 5 games, there's some enjoyment to be had. Sadly, I find the whole gameplay flow quite sluggish, so I haven't put much time into it.

Having said that, it's way better than Heroes VII, which to me feels like a mobile game. I dunno why, I just always get that distinct feeling when I play it, and I can't really take much of it at all.

I just bought it the other month...

Moderate satisfaction... but Honestly -- Nothing beats HoMM5.5! -- It is just so advanced!!

I am also looking forward to Age of Empires IV! It is scheduled for next year... 2021!
