Sorry I disappeared so suddenly after causing the whole sh#tstorm, but I had a very busy day, almost completely lacking any might and magic

Before getting to the main point, let me say this: Verriker, you are the sh#t, man, let me take my bow to you, great brain reflexes!

So, dear 'eroes, what did we learn today?

1. Never give any credit to the reviewing sites/journalists. It took a simple e-mail/phone call from Bullshisoft on a bloody Sunday to make these guys stick the article where the sun don't shine. The same goes for any other media sources, if you ask me, but that's debatable.

2. Never think your opinions go unnoticed. Never believe boolsh#t such as "this is a hardcore forum, representing a minority". Bullshisoft monitors this forum even on a bloody Sunday and acts accordingly. Accordingly = censoring articles on a Russian site. A little too much attention for a hardcore, insignificant minority, if you ask me.
So, go on , express yourselves, Bullshisoft reads and their b@lls hurt.  If they didn't hurt, they wouldn't resort to such low-life censoring actions. Kick hard and harder. They deserve it.

3. Do they have a PR budget bigger than the H7 budget? Maybe.

4. Giving any decency-credit to these guys after today means being bloody retarded. The first link to the article was posted here yesterday and yet nothing happened until I posted those translations today. WTF? They censored an article on a bloody Russian site less than an hour after it was cited on a bloody "hardcore, insignificant forum". When do you snowing live, anyway?

I'm disgusted by these maggots.

P.S. If I were a guy arising from the community and hired by Bullshisoft, I would file in my bloody resignation by now (assuming I still had the balls I once had and I didn't become just another corporate minion by now)

Oh boy, an article about H7 being c*ap because of low budget etc. "Didn't see that one coming!" I might say...

It's not a laughing matter of course, but well spent 60$ people (who bought the game). Trusting Ubisoft after H6 was a big mistake...

Regarding the article, the underfunding of the game has been already exposed by some Limbic guy in one of their twitch streams (in the comment section), where he mentioned that there was not enough money to create new models for all faction or something like that. I think that someone here also quoted him here long ago.

Didn't someone say that they couldn't do changes to the skillwheel because "it would upset the balance of the campaigns"?

This just goes lower and lower. And there is nothing much to do but to sit and see what kind of trash they will release next.

At least Limbic does not give up (hence this expansion pack), but what kind of money they hope to gain when the release was shown in its "full glory"?

I doubt it is a matter of not giving up: they are probably obligated with contract to produce the expansion pack.

Perhaps. But they are trying, right? They could've just spammed the whole line-up with actual dwarves. Or even using a model from Heroes VI and change it into the game (e.g. give light elemental flames to look like valkyrie).

Eh, the titles they work on and their budget are decided by ubi so I don't see what that has to do with perseverance or lack of it.

At any rate, trying is good but unlikely to be very fruitful without proper understanding - which neither ubi nor Limbic has shown to possess. But from the looks of it, resources, coordination and direction were all lacking.

I would include ability as somewhat lacking too. You can blame a lot on low budget, but the amount of bugs, the severity of them and the poor optimization of the game indicates that a more experienced team could have delivered better results with the same constraints and budget.

the lineup and the models are not up to Limbic, they are dictated by Team Erwin lol

if I were them I would not even pretend to try (which they are indeed not) as it is a waste of energy,
as soon as you have released broken beta as retail, ****storm and only one intern left in charge of your terrible AI you are already out on your arse, nothing in heaven or earth will turn around your game or your reputation, so just cash the paycheck while it's going, take the money and run lol

It is very clear that they make the games around campaigns. For them the game is 99% the campaigns, because it is what the casual players will basically play. And that's why they put so much effort into the lore, and that's why they force it into the maps (and everything really) and make all the gameplay about telling a story forgetting about what the real gameplay is.

Regarding the budget, I don't know which was the budget but I'm quite positive that you can make a good Heroes game with it. Good design isn't more expensive, bad design is. On top of that. you should avoid trying to make realistic 3D graphics (which you aren't capable of doing anyway) and try to do something more modest but artistically nice and good looking. This simplicity would allow you to have a simpler editor and easy the map creation for both your level designers and the users.

But they are Ubisoft and they feel obliged to offer some graphical "quality" standards that will catch the eye of unwary buyers.

few men=many problems.

this applies for everything. from designs to bugs. limbic guys are talented with no doubt but having no time for multiple task destroys everthing. i lost half of my potentially great products to same problem. you just cant make everything at the same time and the more time pass, the more you sacrifice from your dream.. final prdocut becomes something unfinished and dissapointing and you never get over it.

i still try to find time to go back and finish those kind of products. it feels like abondening your own child...

i cant believe they only have Oak to handle A.I. that guy must be in a very stressfull situation.

i believe they can do much better if they have more people and money.ubisoft must be really dumb to not see this.

In fairness, every Age of Wonders game was made by Triumph Studios. It's easy to keep consistency when it has been held by the same company all this time, unlike the NWC to Ubi jump that Heroes had.

Published by Ubi, not made by Ubi. They give orders what to do and pay for work, by they don't work on games themselves, unlike NWC or Triumph Studios.
H5 was done by Nival, H6 by Black Hole and H7 by Limbic.

I don't think it has anything to do with the funding. In my opinion, it's simply poor basic game design. When the underlying clockwork of game mechanics isn't working, no amount of budget can help.
