That's what I am currently working on. Here's one example.

So yes, every unit from Heroes II is the same in Heroes I Game Boy version, just that there are no upgrades whatsoever.

Anyway, here's the Knight town. Say, it looks much more of a town with those pixel graphics than any of Heroes VII towns, yes?

Heroes 1 for game boy is 100% heroes 1 for computer minus the campaign.

Heroes 2 for game boy uses the same units from heroes 3 towns actually, with the same stats and no upgrades. The only change up is each factions best guy is a dragon so in most cases it replaces the usual top tier. Except for fortress which loses the wyvern instead of the hydra.

The factions in h2 GBC are rampart, castle, stronghold, and fortress.

I'd say 90%. For there are no secondary skills, only primary (attack, defense, spell power and knowledge).

In addition, the might heroes from Fortress are from Fortress itself, while the magic ones are from Heroes III's Dungeon.

I see. I never played Heroes 1 and assumed the GBC version was based more on Heroes 2. Oh well.

Thank you for the link. Too bad it only has one unit so far.

What are the names and stats of the dragons and the hydra assuming everything else is the same?

Patience. It's not like these things can be written about over the night. In due time, more will come.

Red dragon is for Stronghold, black one is for Fortress, the gold dragon is with Castle and the green is in Rampart.

So far, I have only the black dragon stats (since it is not easy to construct their dwellings):

Atk: 20
Def: 20
Dmg: 40 - 50
HP: 200
Speed: Fast
For abilities, it can fly, it occupies two slots and has breath attack. Not certain if it is immune to magic, though.

What sucks big time are the siege battles.

It's just that there are just walls. Nobody can enter the castle, and nobody can leave it, until the catapults shoot down the walls. There's just one tower that shoots the enemies (and cannot be destroyed). The positive side, though, is that the catapult cannot be destroyed.

Still, these are not the battles I would prefer, in this format.

EnergyZ, I see Ore listed twice, but no Gold. Isn't the second Ore you list actually a pile of Gold?

Yup. Must be a copy-paste mistake.

Here's a bit about the Knight town.

Apparently, there are two kinds of sprites: one plain and one that is more detailed.

Here's the one from the battlefield and overland:

And here's the one from the overview; the window you open in castle to recruit multiple creatures at once. Except this overview is in the well.

Huh, it's like a miracle happened. I usually hate leaving the stretched-out images (hence why the image of peasant or archer were low quality). But, accidentally pressing the Caps Lock it made the whole screen much sharper and there is no pixelization. While it only lasts for a couple of seconds, I can still take the images out of it.

Anyway, Knight creatures have been finished.

Managed to record the sound from the opening. Very cheery. Click here.

Hero portraits, right here. Don't know if you are a fan of 16-bit graphics. Or is it 8-bit? Or even less?

Anyway, all the heroes from Heroes I are in the first edition of the game for Game Boy color. So check that link, from time to time, when the new portraits get uploaded. One more note - Lord Kilburn and Sir Gallant's portraits are swapped; still, I consider that a mistake to place them how they were in Heroes I on PC.

Knight theme music, like you never heard of before, I think.

Started the Barbarian faction.

Well, since most of the content from Heroes 1 is in the Game Boy version, I must ask - what are the Barbarian and Warlock's special abilities, since Knights get +1 morale and Sorceress gain +1 luck permanently?

1) I almost want to get an emulator to play this game - looks neat.

2) Friggin' love that Knight town music. If I had a phone, I'd probably make that my ringtone.

3) I took the liberty of adding the Sorceress faction to the faction list on the wiki, since when I tried to find more info on the game, I found this video and it was the faction used.

4) While not bad, Knight music is better than Sorceress.

EDIT: I suppose this isn't too surprising in hindsight, but I was just watching a video for the original HoMM (which I have not played; indeed, first genuine look outside the HoMM wiki), only to find the GBA music a straight-up midi version of the original game's soundtrack - or at least for the towns. Seriously, compare.

EDIT 2: And they gave the Warlock music to the Sorceress? Wut? :S

Here's how Stronghold town looks like:

And, uh, I am not certain if keyboard stacks well with a faction that is supposed to represent might, honor and goblins, but lains_H1GB_theme_music.ogg" target=_blank>here, theme music of Stronghold.

Stronghold architecture, right here. Am I the only one that doesn't understand the relations of cyclopes and pyramids? What do they have in common?

The games are really fun but the AI starts to take forever when the game gets long. Got to eliminate one or two of them early on to keep the game moving.

Here are chibi units (as seen on the battlefield) and here are the units drawn in better detail (as icons). Just to make distinction.

And the first Barbarian creature - the purple goblin. Enjoy.

One more thing - while the resources seen in the previous page are from the overland map, I extracted some from the Kingdom Overview page, which show how more detailed they look. Here.
