Era exp levels adding new units.

I have a question for Era specialists. Is it possible adding new sprites to units on each exp level? 2 to 10. Avans means new look?
If yes we can add 2000! new units! Is it possible?

Well, that would require very close designs to make sense. As pikeman getting a new armor, or a new pike as levels go up. Certainly not replace pikeman with an elephant when level 2 or so.

And this is why it would be impossible to do, who will design 10 new defs being detail close for each creature?

If not, technically is possible, yes.

Great news! My idea is another. I dont want add 9 new eg. pikemans. I think about add completly new units. And crushing unit table limit (256).
 Blocking avans in this way: eg needs 10 trillion exp points. That unit will be never leveled up.
There we have 2000 units and we can use it to new towns!
And we can recruit in NEW town eg. lamassu with new sprite and stats pikeman at + 5 def +7 health + 10 new abilities etc. like units levels option. It will be completly new unit.
Is it possible programming that in town we can recruit 7lvl pikeman in first day which is named lamassu?
And 7lvl pikeman upg is 7lvl halabardier which is named great lamasu?
...
New towns can be added like dragon peaks and deer town.
In this way I think will be possible in easy way add new towns and units.

Thats tons of work, and until now I see almost to none Era modders interested by "new units or towns". For this there is Hota, VCMI. Era is more about customizing the game mechanics to your liking.

So it is possible and I want only know it. It is the way how to add new noncrashed units and towns in easy way. Non replaceing olds. And without hardcoding sourcecode. Good news :-):-):-)

No, I said is possible in battle. I have no idea how this could be done in towns, as there is no way to set experience to creatures before they are hired, then there is twcrport.def (the portraits) which I have no clue how it can fit to new creatures.

Thanks for mentioning my town.

By as Oxfea said, the big problem is the icons. The same type of creature will use the same picture, regardless of their ranks.

Further, creature ranking is one of the most interesting things in wog, I dont see why a wog player would like to trade it for new creatures?
