The spells you do not prefer to use.

On a serious note, I guess my spells would be Slow, Haste, Shield, Berserk, Curse, Implosion and Sacrifice.

I very like water Spells bless,clone,teleport,prayer,mirth.

Earth magis school is easily the best school. I prefer to learn 2 school. Earth-Air or Earth-Water depends on towns.

Mass spells, I don't even care about the others. I almost never cast a damaging spell, if that happens is generally Chain Lightning or Meteor Shower on an easy battle were he has all war-machines, I don't want him to flee and I don't have Shackles.

Slow is too OP. I hate not having it and I hate having it because I cast it in almost every battle

If it is a bigger fight then Blind obviously

I cast Slow a lot too, early to mid game taking the first mines and the first banks, etc... but after a while my choice is generally Haste or Prayer cause I can do more damage with a first strike mellee then by forcing them to march to my shooters.

Contra AI blind. AI cant remove it  :-) Ressurection, haste, mass haste. Mass are better. Thunder etc. giving to small damages.

Magic Arrow to kill the remaining 1 stack creature. I have loved Lightning Bolt in all heroes, altough it does deasent damage, my secondary heroes loves it more as in they hands it looks even more deadlier, nice town defence spell also to clear out few 6 - 7lvs. Implosion can even be used in last battle, ever got in duel with Resurrection spell? One casts Implosion and then other cast Resurrection it's quite fun.

Mass spells are often way to go. Haste is the most used, followed by Slow. Blind is VERY nice but not against human players. Berserk is insane but because fire school in itself aren't that good and you can prevent the spell with artifacts, I usually skip this. Prayer is good but I rather clone my AA's if taken water school. Don't use Bless either but mass Cure/Dispel sometimes of course. Resurrection is my favorite town capture spell for obvious reasons.

I'm shoked to realise that there aren't really other spells in Air that I mainly use in battle than Haste and sometimes Lightning Bolt  DD,Fly makes it an instant pick but no 3 - 5lv air spells in battle...

The spell system in HoMM 3 is not-well designed.
The mass spells are overwhelmingly effective AND cost-effective. One has to force himself to not use them all the time, or people must write extremely situational scenarios to sidestep the conception of the core game.

(The HoMM 2 spell system shines in comparison.)

I use a lot of spells, but most important vs ai and the map is Resurrection/Animate Dead, Slow and Haste.

SP only here...

Haste, Slow, Shield are at the top of my list. After that it gets situational. Chain Lighting and Meteor Shower against weak stacks, Prayer to boost Attk/Def in less than favorable matchups (ie. AB's vs AA's), and Counterstrike/Clone where I have more powerful but fewer stacks than the enemy.

I hardly ever used Counterstrike much before, but in certain situations it works great. If Royal Griffons can do it, my AA's can do it better

I almost never cast fireshield but killing a single stack of efreet sultans on the map with single stack of strong units can be really annoying, as you can't ressurrect them after the last fireshield.

I have to agree. I can't understand why they didn't limit Mass spells to at least Tier 3, separate from the single target versions, or restrict it to Magic Heroes only, considering how Might Heroes have a strong advantage over Magic Heroes in the current form.

Hard to be definitive on that. Maybe the H2 spell SYSTEM is somehow better, but the result is weaker than in H3, as with a simple lightning bolt a level one mage can dispatch your one week army in a few rounds, therefore mass slow is much less prioritized.

On the other side, mass slow in H3 is so ridiculously overpowered that all what is designed for H3 keeps and is planned that in mind, if might heroes are deprived from mass spells, they will become impotent at early game. Personally I wouldn't change anything (for a probable weaker result) in classes access to mass spells, but kick into synergies area, for example a mage which masters the 4 schools get access to wonders a might can't (several casts/turn for example).

The level 1 mass spells are extremely powerful, why Slow, Haste, Bless and Curse are only level 1, I never understood, they would fit well at level 3, with higher mana cost. I guess Blind could be level 3 as well. Other spells could be moved down, like Hypnotize, Slayer and Magic Mirror.

Exactly.
And precision, forgetfulness, mirth, fortune, protection from XYZ should have been mass spells all the way. Homm 3 made great progression from the second title, but they overdid the revolution with new magic expert mechanics.

(That's one of the main reasons that make magic heroes suck in comparison with the might ones. If mass spells are on level 3, you need wisdom to learn them. And magic school expertise is less decisive.)
