I'm gonna roll a random character for DnD 5th Edition, in case I ever need it (lol tfw 4ever DM). Everything will be decided by rolling a die equal to the character options as dictated by the Player's Handbook and I will string it together as a cohesive character.

Race: Human
Class: Ranger
Background: Hermit
- Reason for the life of seclusion: I am the caretaker of an ancient ruin or relic.
- Personality trait: I connect everything that happens to me to a grand, cosmic plan.
- Ideal: inquiry and curiosity are the pillars of progress.
- Bond: My seclusion gave me insight into a great evil only I can destroy
- Flaw: I am dogmatic in my thoughts and philosophy.
- Favoured Enemy: Elementals
- Favoured Terrain: Grasslands

Well... *cracks knuckles* That's a bit bland, but I'll roll with it. For the sake of honesty I should add I did away with my first race roll, because I landed on dark elf and a dark elf ranger hermit may shock the sensibilities of one of the judges.

Name: Brynhildr "the Ram" Haraldsdottir

Race: Human

Age: 22

Appearence: Tall, muscular and scarred, Brynhildr looks like the definition of a "warrior". Her, long unkempt hair is thin, black and flat, often going down her face. Her eyes are usually a bit too open for comfort and from her forehead, two large Horns like that of a ram protrudes and spirals back and around to have the tips point forward next to her cheeks. Her "clothing" consists of various pieces of plate, hide and scale armour in different areas with fur hanging above her shoulders.

Armaments: Wielding a long, one-handed danish axe, a round shield and a couple of throwing spears, Brynhildr is a frightening combatant more at home in battle than anywhere else and is not afraid to use any tools at her disposal to win fights, be it shield-bashes, kicks or even flinging sand.

Personality: Boisterous and loves to fight. She also hates slavery or even just the idea of people being in charge of other people and will fight anyone who thinks they have such power. Nobles especially gets under her skin and she has assaulted them on numerous occasions and takes particular sadistic glee in hurting them.

Skills: Great combatant able to hold out against numerous enemies at once, skilled tactician, plotter and actor. Great for starting brawls.

Weaknesses: Easy to manipulate if you know how. Over-confident. Quick to anger. often ends up in trouble with police or other law enforcement. A bit too great at starting brawls.

Bio: It is rough in the cold north where the icy winds blow and the deadly beasts roam dangerously close to the villages. It is the kind of place where only the strong survive. Brynhildr was strong. Brynhildr was a warrior born and bred in battle at the side of her father as he brought her on numerous raids and battles, making her a well known shield maiden the envy and desire of many, Including the Local Jarl, whom her father was serving as a housecarl. The Jarl, wishing to ensure his bloodline continue, asked that the two houses be joined together by Having his son marry Brynhildr.

Her father accepted.

Brynhildr had always been wealthy, free and a little bit spoiled, used to ordering the Thralls of the house around and not thinking much about it. But at that moment she realized what it was like not having a say in your own future. Not being in charge of oneself and having to accept the wishes of others. And she hated it. She plotted an escape out of such a life and at the night of the wedding, she took action.

After the festivities had seized the newly-weds retreaded to their chambers but instead of consummating the marriage, Brynhildr Headbutted her husband to the ground and proceeded to straddle him, continually hitting his head over and over until nothing but a red smear remained, all while gleefully laughing in joy. She then sneaked out the window and into the freezing storm outside.

She returned a few years later, now clad in armour and sporting her famous horns. She broke the door in the middle of festivities by headbutting it and proceeded to kill anyone trying to stop her until the old Jarl decided to try his luck, ending up in the pyre. She then left to wander, never to return.

some notes

- It was originally conceived as a Warhammer Chaos lord.

-works best in a world where mutations and "gifts" etc are possible, be it from gods or just magical energies. can be altered for other settings (be it specialized horned mask, helmets, whatever) is possible but not preferable since...

-horns are integral to her identity. It was the first feature every other feature spawned from.

-Likes surströmming

It was hard coping with a bad connection, and writing on a damned phone.

There we go, straight from my own table-top RPG...

Name: Reznan Laenter

Race: Half-Dendrith (Commonly defined as sylvan elves in this universe)

Race background: A Sylvan elf is the result of the union of an High Elf of the Hallowed islands and a Dendrith, a race of men from the cauldron of Gengorod.
Such a union is considered unholy by all the descendants of the Bar'El (The original races that came unto the world), due to the nature of Denriths, as they were created by the Daemon Gengorod through the boiling of human corpses and willow bark.
As such Dendriths are men that possess bark-like skin, tree-like features, and are sometimes indistinguishable from the local flora.
An union that would result in a Sylvan Elf is almost always the result of an abduction of an High Elf maiden, the resulting child would look like an High Elf initially, but over time will develop the peculiar Dendrith features accordingly to the genealogic distance from their Dendrith father.
Sylvan Elves are considered as a Twilight race, due to their mixed nature, and are usually accepted in High Elf communities to allow an eventual cleansing of their blood through selective breeding.
Some form their own communities most of the times however, and their pariahs and criminals often return to their fathers' kin becoming more tree-like by drinking from the cauldron.

Age: 153, A young adult by Sylvan Elf standards.

Appearance: Towering at 2,25 m of height, and bulky in build, Reznar has long reddish hair intertwined with twigs and branches and braided with coloured stines as well as a long beard that is covered in some places by leaves.
His skin is fair and in spots tend to get grey, mostly where it's getting thicker and looking like bark, the left cheek is the most evident point of this as well as the right shoulder, which is also starting to grow small branches.

Abilities: A small grasp of wood magic and a good knowledge of ice magic.

Apparel&Equipment: A scale mail hauberk over an azure silk tunic adorned with silver linings, A larger iron pauldron lined with copper on the left and a smaller leather shoulder pad on the right, two silver bracers and leather gauntlets with plates on the fingers, and a conical helmet with a face-plate.

Weapons: A broad sword, a kite shield and a curved dagger on the side.

Bio: Reznar was one of the nowadays rare first-grade Sylvan Elves, in the time he was born the High Elven settlements near the cauldron of Gengorod had depopulated, and only few remained there, mostly to maintain control over the sorroundings and maintain frequent contacts with the Sylvans, one day an accident happened when a delegation of High Elves was ambushed while en route to the city of Farasn'Anm, the capital of the Sylvan Kingdom.
Among the delegation there was a young scholar that wanted to study the Sylvan tradition of the natural schools of magic, usually when a maiden was to reach the Sylvan kingdom she would have far more protection, however this time it was more of an hasty decision and no such arrangements were made.
As expected the Dendriths sensed their passage and attacked the delegation, and kidnapped the Elf woman.onceO she managed to escape the Dendriths it was apparent that she was marked to die of childbirth, such was the fate of Elven women that carried first-grade sylvans in their womb.
Reznar was born in a village near Farasn'Anm, and taken by foster parents he grew up as a gardener.
Eventually that life started to tire him, and once an envoy called for fresh levies for the army he answered the call and enrolled in the Sylvan army.
After about 60 years though, he fled the army due to a sudden change in rulership, not wanting to side with the royalists nor the rebels he preferred to defect and find his own way.
Having fled the city he wandered about the coasts, and eventually found the port town of Ahrnburg, in the kingdom of Tarand, the famous hub of adventurers...

Name: Creighton

Age: 34

Race: Human

Class: Ranger

Skills: Survival, Stealth, Athletics, Medicine, Religion

Tool Proficiencies: Herbalism Kit

Equipment: A scroll case stuffed full of notes from my
studies and observations of the crucible of spells, a winter blanket, a set of common clothes in poor condition, an herbalism kit, and 5 gp, a set of scale mail armor, a hand axe, a spear, an explorer's pack and a longbow with a quiver of 20 arrows.

Appearance: Having spent most of his life as an exile on the outskirts of civilisation, Creighton definitely looks the part. His clothes are threadbare, his face obscured by long hair and a long beard and his skin has been marked by a rough life in the wilds with an abundance of scars. Along with this disheveled look he can be described as a bit imposing. Well over six feet tall, broad and muscles like tightly corded rope from spending a brutal outdoorsy life, Creighton will not be winning any beauty contests soon.

((The next thing is actually something I should discuss a bit with the DM. Place names and the exact nature of the relic Creighton guards are all negotiable. the important thing is that Creighton was exiled with his immediate family and chose to continue to live in exile protecting something and that something is now in jeopardy and he has to venture out to reclaim it/ stop the villain, etc.))

Background: Creighton used to be someone. He used to have a second name and a nice house in the great harbour city of Sativa. He was studying to be a doctor. He could read and write, his father was a respected scholar, his mother the daughter of a wealthy merchant, but on his twelfth summer this all had changed when his father had messed with the wrong people or broke the rules of the organisation he was working. The details of his father's work were always a bit nebulous, but his father held a knowledge of a place far away that needed their supervision. So went the story anyway.

That was the last he had seen of his mother and of civilisation. He then underwent his journey with his father to what was dubbed "the crucible of spells," a strange ruin that could only be entered via a hidden and intricate network of caves. It was sealed off via a magic [[TO BE CONTINUED LATER]]

Name: Lloyd "the Judge" Icefang

Gender: Male

Age: over 50 years old

Race: Undead; ghost

Appearance: While alive, Lloyd had green eyes, some brown hair, with two locks extending to his neck. He was a tall person, who had a muscular stature. Before his death, Lloyd, who was 35 years old, also wore a grey armor, a greatsword and a necklace, which contained his picture of his parents. At his death, he was slashed by a dagger and bears a scar across his left cheek. Being a ghost, Lloyd still has the same appearance, but is incorporeal and radiates with a black aura. He can be seen through any mirror or transparent glass.

Personality: Lloyd is a brave man that tries to respect justice, law and rules. By joining the army he fantasized about as a child, he believed it was his duty to protect his people. Being a ghost, Lloyd pursues people and passes on his own judgements to see how worthy their souls are. He knows being a ghost is actually a curse and tries to know what his mission is on the earthly realm, to complete it and transcend to higher planes. Lloyd also doesn't like priests and tries to steer clear of them, since he thinks one of them could detect his presence and even banish him. He rarely talks

Abilities: While he retains his combat skills, Lloyd also has the unique ability of pulling people's souls from their body. In addition, Lloyd also tries to grasp at some dark magical powers.

Background: While he was a child, Lloyd was neglected by his parents, who dabbled in their research. Thus, Lloyd always dreamed of enlisting the army and to be promoted as a general, even if the Icefang family consisted of intellectuals. After graduating from school, Lloyd, despite his parents' wish to continue his education, enlisted the military at an age of 16. It took him four years to train and battle, before being sent into the war to defend his hometown. There, he faced the horrors of the war, as a lot of recruits, who were near his age, were slain in the battle. Fortunately, Lloyd was positioned as an archer and showed a lot of bravery, even defending his commander's life with his sword until the reinforcements came and ended the siege.

Two years after that battle, Lloyd was sent on a lot of missions. His commanders wished him to die, since Lloyd had a lot of potential to even be their general, but since Lloyd was successful most of his time, he was eventually positioned as a bodyguard to Lady Alaya, who recently took control of the city, after her father died. Lloyd actually fell in love with her, even if some of the rumors stated she was using forbidden magic. Lloyd was invited into her chambers one day, where Lloyd hoped to admit his feelings. Sadly, rumors turned to be true, as Alaya seduced him, then killed him with her own dagger in a moment of distraction. She casted his body into a pot, to make a potion that would give her an eternal life and youth. The experiment failed, however, and Alaya threw the liquid away.

Few hours after the incident, Lloyd woke up and felt cold. He noted the experiment made him into an invisible ghost. He eventually made it to the castle, where Alaya was. She was grooming herself in the mirror and, through it, was shocked to see Lloyd returning back to her. Alaya, in a desperate attempt, tried to charm Lloyd, who resisted her charms. Since that backfired, Alaya started screaming. To shush her, Lloyd used his spectral hand and thrusted Alaya into her heart and pulled her soul out of her body. Alaya's soul started attacking Lloyd, who pulled his sword out and slashed Alaya's soul in two, causing it to vanish. Lloyd hid away and watched as the city's priests declared Alaya as soulless - while Alaya's body lived, she could not move, speak, talk or hear.

Lloyd went out and, with a new goal in his mind, he started declaring "judgements" on beings and pulled out souls out of people he deemed as *unworthy* of having them. He does this not only on people, but on mythical beasts, abominations or "anything that he should pass on his judgement". Thus, before he passes on the judgement, he yells: "The Judge hunts your soul out!" With 50 years having passed since his birth, Lloyd continues his work and has even wandered off some times to the Land of the Dead, where the restless spirits gather to find more about their past and their destiny to leave this mortal plane. The priests marked a lot of soulless people and also sent some bounty hunters to exterminate this "evil spirit". Lloyd simply laughed, as he floated away, but knows he may be caught on act one day.

Supreme Hero
The Clever Title
posted August 14, 2016 09:41 PM bonus applied by OmegaDestroyer on 20 Aug 2016.
Edited by Gryphs at 21:42, 14 Aug 2016.

Name: Admiral Cherri Errupchiryuierrpiuyihpir Jr.

Age: 43

Race: Eyrrike (Basically large talking sparrows.)

Affiliations: The Commonwealth: A powerful federation that is supposedly a bastion of democracy and law.

The Grand Armada: The Commonwealth's navy.

Appearance: Cherri has always been popular for his bright feathers. He even won the hatchery beauty contest three times in a row. The feathers on his back and wings are bright brown, and on his breast bright grayish white. Around his black eyes he wears silver admiralty eyeliner and eye shadow. His black talons are painted silver. He wears a long black coat with silver trim that flows down his back, and has all his many awards pinned to the front. The coat's collar goes past his head, however, he usually has it folded in half. On his head he wears a black officer's hat with the silver moons of the Commonwealth pinned to it.

Biography: Cherri's egg was the last living thing on the burned husk of Eryup-907, the first Federal planet to be obliterated by the AI rebels, where it was found among-st rubble by the 689th Shock Troopers. At the end of the AI Revolt, Cherri was placed in the first-level government hatcheries in New Irp-Irp. As a result of being in a hatchery funded by the government's Secure the Future Fund, Cherri's days were filled with learning about how wonderful and fair the Commonwealth government and leaders were. He was a popular chick, however, was not a fantastic student, and ended up failing the Drive for Success test at age twelve. With the said failure he was cast out of the hatchery as a delinquent and ingrate. For three years Cherri lived as a beggar and check sitter (citizens who wait in lines for hours or days for government handouts) on the seventh level of New Irp-Irp.

One day, Cherri was approached by a military recruiter who had been fluttering about the mire of the seventh level. The recruiter chirped out the common Federal rhetoric, but that was unnecessary for the desperate Cherri who signed on without a moments hesitation. He was whisked away to a boot camp on the moon of Upirrrie-90 were he trained for a year, before being assigned to the CWS Chirrup. His service was initially an uneventful one, until they were sent to the Lost Fields asteroid belt. Their ship was attacked by pirates and Cherri managed to repel two boardings and capture an enemy ship while filling for their wounded commander. While he was thoroughly displeased with the cliche nature of his heroics, he was still rewarded with both a medal and a captainship.

He did not maintain that position for long. He found friends among many of the military higher ups, and with his abilities managed brisk advancement through the ranks. When the Commonwealth went to war with the League of Nema, Cherri was in command of his own small fleet. During the beginning of the war, Federal forces suffered a series of setbacks culminating in the loss of all their initial momentum. Cherri; however, was able to become such a thorn in the Nemanese side that the Federal Armada was able to receive reinforcements and relaunch their assault. They found Cherri leading a patchwork fleet, commanding from a captured Nemanese battleship. He was applauded as a hero, and when he returned was awarded by the Chancellor personally.

Cherri has been an admiral for six years now. The war ended in stalemate with little more of Cherri's heroics, and he has since taken up desk work after pushing his luck with his superiors. He jokingly says he enjoys it, after all, he has more time for his hobbies. Besides, he would rather be there than standing in lines for government food, and living in a nest made of trash above a sewage disposal pipe.

Personality: Cherri is a level headed and logical bird. He takes strong dislike to most stories told about his exploits as he believes they misrepresent him. He is highly gregarious and loves being around others; to the extent that he will often become irritated with himself if left alone. Do to his childhood experience he has developed a fervent hatred for the Commonwealth's test system. Soldiers under him often find that scheduled advancement tests end up canceled, and some soldiers say they see him giggling while slipping tests into the furnaces during cultural reeducation on recently conquered planets. Despite being a lauded Federal commander, he is surprisingly unpatriotic, and conducts all his services for his nation out of a sense of happiness he gets from others thinking they are less than him.

Possessions: His aforementioned clothes, a digital pocket watch, and a repeat pistol (think a more chrome bolter from 40k) are his frequent personal affects. Cherri is an avid modeler and his offices can often be found littered with mini replicas of ships and buildings. As all high ranking officials do, he always carries around a mirror and pouches of mascara as well as other touch ups.

Skills: Cherri is a natural born conversationalist and leader, able to inspire great loyalty in his troops. His social abilities lend him even more favor among the higher authorities in the Commonwealth, and Cherri has many contacts in the military tribunals, Electorate(the shadow group that controls all Federal elections), and Senate. Cherri's combat abilities are average at best, and he is a only decent shot with his pistol.

Judge #3 here, I liked the fact that you went with a ghost and it was an interesting concept but I penalized you for the character being a bit two dimensional in my mind and a few inconsistencies in his backstory. It takes years to become trained with a bow or sword, let alone both, and why would he have a sword in the first place? A sword is an expensive weapon, why would he be issued one? Was it a gift from his parents? I know his parents researched, but were they nobles/rich? Even if they were why send such an expensive item to their son if they disapproved of his actions? That type of thing.

I can explain my rationale behind all of my scores if people care, bit short on time right now though.
