Well i have to be lucky - i didnt had a single crash till now (around 3 days gameplay time in total) (campaign and single player - didnt test multiplayer).

Or maybe im just lucky - we will never know

I agree that people have different experience with H7 when it comes to performance (they already said that). That part is the one that is strange imo And for the record, I'm glad that some people can enjoy the game (I said that earlier).

I was one of the lucky people who never got any major bugs in H6 nor black screens. But if it's a lottery whether you are screwed or not..

So the main problem is extensive memory leak? But memory leak is a bug. It can be fixed. So if they fix it, everything is fine, right? Btw, unfortunately almost all games have memory leaks even in their ultimate edition (Civ5, Homm5). Ok, H7’s is more intensive. So it needs to be fixed. That’s all. But I can imagine, if they fix it, someone will reply: It solves nothing, because H7 is already dead: there are too many Magic Schools and Spiders!

No, something people have trouble to understand in this forum is COMPATIBILITY ISSUES, like, depending on your hardware the game will react good or bad, which means the programming sucks like a desperate poney for carrots.

That is correct.

Well, they didn't manage to fix those for almost 2 years. While magic schools and spiders can be easily modded out and hard-patched, memory leaks can't be fixed without having access to the source code or doing some pretty hard-core hex editing. If those would be fixed, heroes 7 could turn out pretty decent with some modding, at least for single player

So the game is poorly optimized and runs poorly on low-end hardware? But what did you expect? This is a low budget project. We have official claims from UBIlimb that this is a low budget project, don’t we? This was known from the beginning.

It also runs poorly on powerful machines (i7 with Nvidia Geforce840M and 16GB DDR3 with SSD disk on my laptop still has unbearable loading times, and the editor takes +10 minutes to open lmao).

Actually we have official claims saying the opposite, is on limbic stream sessions that we learned stuff like only 2 factions if art from scratch etc.

I agree with this. They need to fix it. And it is absolutely possible that they fix it at some time. You can’t be sure that they were not able to fix it. It is possible that so far they just didn’t make any serious effort to fix it.

I appreciate your patience with this testing. I can honestly admit I wouldn't do it (although it makes me think about your life a bit if you have nothing better to do than testing the performance of the game you dislike .

But almost nobody who enjoys H7 claims this game is great-optimized (except for bloodraven). Its technical state simply cannot deter themus from enjoying the game. And it's also true many well-rated games lack optimisation.

What facts? While others claim they have no such issues? So someone is lying here? I think editor would require more video memory than 2GB, since they didn’t care to optimize it. You’re video card is sort of low-medium category anyway. It’s not a gaming laptop you have.

Which means no one is lying, programming is just awful, and reports confirms it.

It's more than good enough video card, there's almost no difference with the 960 in example, and I said powerful, not warmachine.

That is 19 minutes 49 seconds wasted during the one hour gameplay.

The bottom line here is that the game penalizes the ones who have a creative approach rather than the ones who just play it occasionally. Such games have no future, as only custom and fan content can make them survive, once the golden goose official adds are done.

Take Civ5, which is by far at the top of advertising and budget. The editor still requires 3 minutes to start, and the editor consists in poor 2D 1995 alike graphics + loading codes from existing mods. A joke, which becomes a nightmare when you work on some custom map, for example, as a) you can't run editor and game at same time as Steam confounds the editor with the game then b) 3 minutes to open editor, 2 minutes to go in game = 5 minutes you have to waste for every minor mistake you need to correct. And this is why you will still have tons of fans generated content for civ3-4 when civ6 will be out then none for civ5.

Now compare this to Heroes and you have the actual situation. Dozens of weekly maps for H3 (check statistics at maps4heroes) and a maximum of 2-4 maps for Heroes 5 every month. In my opinion, beside the increasing editor complexity -which could be positive IF IT allowed more actions, there is also the technical leaks which render the fan work-time very tedious and contribute to the game moldiness.

@Bitula

Also even if my graphic card wasn't good enough (which it is) you miss the mark once again, take a look back at Stevie's machine on first page and he has major issues too, then PROJ says he has no issues with a weaker comp, if that doesn't highlight my words I don't know what can. The problem is not on the customer's side, please.

@Aionb

This is a universal problem affecting all games. Possibly H7 is more affected since it is low budget. There is really no point arguing this. Some people with XY hardware are just not lucky. My high end nvidea SLI was not able to run H6 with even all settings set to minimum. The only way to fix it was to forcefully disable one of the GPU-s.
