Well yes, people who pay real money get some small benefits, ain't it normal? It is thanks to VIPs the servers can keep running and people give money because they love the game. It is your choice to be 100% free player, which is respect but allows no mistake and dedication, and while it takes you three months of saving diamonds others massively summon with their credit card. It isn't pay-to-win, as you still need to get out there for the small creatures, figure out the strategies and make the right decisions. VIP benefits only speeds up progress but dungeon rewards are accessible (top 100) and dungeon tiers keep newcomers safe and single-player shouldn't be a problem once you are able to hold your own in gold tier competition. We know some players -even posters here at HC- who are f2p or almost (just bought the 5$ starter's pack, totally worth it btw) getting their greater essences each week and occasionally ranking in top 3.

Yes, the game is hard for a 100% free player, even I at VIP5 (around 100$) am now paying for some wrong decisions I made (by using essences in the wrong creatures, by recycling a good one I thought was bad, by wasting tons of rerolls when I thought those mattered in defense, etc) and I see for some is even worse than me (Players with VIP Angel with defense below 10%). Save the PvP, the game still is awesome for a f2p because of the relatively rich PvE and hopefully Kingdom will start to bring new things to the table.

All this to say it is normal payers have an advantage, they paid for it! Yet, the game is deep enough in tactics to at least work your way in offense and reap good rewards, you simply struggle more, but that is fair imo. Also the luck works both ways, a free player can get three legendaries in his first multi-summon while someone who paid can get one out of ten. And multi-summons aren't even mandatory, once you get 2-3 Legendaries (I got most of mine from random diamond idols I got from quest chest or PvP) you shouldn't have much problem in attack. Personally I want some creatures just because they look cool and also because PvE has tons of replayability with various teams if you accept to invest rerolls in it, as trying out alternative strategies is fun, given the plethora of abilities from vast array of creatures.

What bothers me a bit more, is that given how costly rerolls are, there is many team combinations I can't afford to try out yet, and that isn't even for competition.

I agree with this.  And trust me if anyone can benefit from automatic legends it is me.  Currently running at 4/20 for getting an event legend on multisummons and 0/17 for the new legend summons (astral, Cerberus, sphinx, worm, etc).  I hate my luck but RNG is just a fact of any game.  Deal with it and move on.

Well this is not in my habits but really, I deeply question this late event and most of those that came before. Basically, I have wasted 1600 diamonds to get useless 2 dots epics, 1/2 dot(s) rares, and that's it. This happening in the phoenix week, where I could have spent those diamonds in bying blue balls to secure my rank in the dungeon challenge, of which you screwed the defense again.

I didn't have the least hope to get the cerberus, but at least I cherished the idea to get I don't know, the spider queen, the banshee, something, for King bounty's sake, I don't know. At least a 3 (or 4 why not) dot epic to save the event.

What do you want to tell you? From now on, I won't put a single diamond into summoning again. Your events, you can burn incense with them. Yes, even the one coming in september, with the phoenix, the worm... etc. I hopefully will win my phoenix in the dungeon, not counting on rather selective algorithm in my opinion. Since I got most of my legends in the dungeon already, and the others, I got them from idols (except my stego, 90 diamonds summon) after 6 months of playing, I'll keep up using idols, at least they are free.

Seriously, the summoning events are the worst sham of this game, and I ponder my words.

Diamonds will be better used at rerolls, charging blue balls, bying energy space, coins... yes they will be way better spent this way.

That's how I've always been using them, multi-summons only really matters when you start playing and lack Legendaries. What makes the luck factor OK in multi-summons is once you have a working party (with for instance a Giant *hint hint Al*) they are completely optional to keep progress in the game. Personally QBC is usually what eats my diamonds, for totems and hope of 4 dots in quick quests (I rarely have the time to go through all maps manually, because yeah RL tends to keep me away from important matters such as CQ).

Congratulations for the Kreegans. Most of us got a Phoenix and we ranked better than usual.

Meanwhile I'm leaving the game because too much is too much. Don't hesitate to put me out Galaad if you need room. Also as I abandon my band of brothers put my pic on HC's wall of shame, just next to Stevie.

I hope they replaced that annoying sphinx in tower again for fire sorceress.

And yes, screw you stickers, you took most of the top 10 last night while you all already have full Phoenix to begin with. Greed is your middle name?

I understand you want to take a break from the competition and that is no problem with me. These last two weeks have been particularly harsh with the new setups and I myself haven't adapted yet. Imo sometimes is good to alternate a bit with the game and focus more on PvE, to strengthen and get new creatures and avoid PvP burnout.
The party you could have we talked about should greatly improve your offense rate and guarantee you the top 100, the one you've been using until now features only ONE Legendary, in Gold! You're a madman that is what you are my friend.

This update is nothing but a complete disaster.

Starting with the Battle Tower - tedious routine became even worse with new numbers. No changes in rewards - only great essence makes sense, no new interactions except for higher score.

The hardest part of the game - awakening of large and boss creature is now officially harder. You can't use greater essences from the Dungeon challenge on your favorite monster anymore if the colors don't match. Can you imagine any profit for players from this change?

What makes you so excited about this?

Mythic Idol gives now gives you useless 3-dot epics instead of useless 2-dot epics. LOL. Even free-to-play questers must be flooded with 3-dot stuff whose only purpose is to wait for a real guy to be fed to.


The update makes things worse. Perhaps, dat Kingdom will make the situation better, but for now game devs are killing the game, slowly and sadistically. I hope that they do it unintentionally, that the Kingdom will be good but with changes like this I really doubt it.

The only thing that is definitely welcome in this update is animations sped up.

But they could do so much more:

Add the kingdom with ways to get rid of useless stuff like foliants.
Add a bunch of new small/rare/large creatures and new ways of obtaining them
Add small chance of obtaining at least of large creatures in the Battle Tower (this small improvement could drastically increase the importance of Battle Tower)
Add new maps with some old creatures like Earth Elemental, Fire Orc, etc., higher chances of rares like Nymph, Skeleton Warrior and so on.

And so many more...

That totally sucks... I welcome the thought of large-essense, but not of color-specific ones.

Not really sure what to think of the update. The differentiation between greater essences and epic essences, however, is good. The color-differentiation might be a pain in the ass, when you desperately search a red one and have the chance to get any of the other five colors.

Have not looked into the nerfs/stat changes so far, so no comment on this.

Nope. A trade feature, I hate games that make people rich, like Diablo III in the starting time, when people could use real money to buy stuff from others.

I hope this kind of easy money making stays away fromCreature Quest.
