Unless I'm mistaken the correct formula for tanking is to be part of bottom 2% from your pool. So yes, usually somewhere below 2k.

So there's actual competition for the lowest rankings, and the players who are attacking me only to let me win are doing it to get rid of the competition. ...makes sense. Guess I'll have to start doing the same myself.

Honestly, this dungeon ranking system seems pretty broken. I didn't expect to have to fight to get a demotion.

You got it on the head. Dungeon, the whole tanking idea, and the reward system are all broken. Devs know this for a long time yet have made no effort to fix this

Well, there is two ways. You can either tank or simply fight your best with what you have and accept not being able to beat players that are 300 levels above yours.

Not even mentioning the developers have made a lot of changes to make the game experience better following fans feedback throughout the last year, I think you made your point loud and clear already in your last couple of posts, be it in this thread or in others Oliver. I have nothing against criticism but repeatedly bashing isn't going to help. If you have something to contribute to these forums, please remain respectful and try to add substance to your posts.

Ouch. I managed to tank for one round, but evidently rank 46 was enough to get kicked back to high gold. Even with less than 50% victory rate, which I guess isn't taken into account for tier changes. Not sure how I managed to get that rank with barely any wins, I guess a lot of folks in my bracket were inactive.

Looks like top 50 in low Gold is automatic promotion? Ah well, have to try to tank again now. (Since I'm not getting anywhere in the high Gold: any prestige that I gain is instantly lost within minutes, so whether I win battles or not makes absolutely no difference. Either way I'm stuck at 2000 prestige.)

Actually, no, this whole feature is so mindbogglingly broken (with same players attacking you every two hours, top players dropping into low Gold to get the top rewards, and players buying their wins with challenge points) that I don't see why I should waste any time on it anymore.

I know it's probably not much of an achievement to many folk, but I finally beat Battle Tower level 49 for the first time I can finally start collecting those greater essences to get my Colossus fully evolved.

It's amazing what using your head and putting together a smart team can do instead of just trying to brute force everything.

Same as my level 51 tower team:


Most of the battles went like this: stunned, then full party wipe before I can fire any heals or other specials, or kill a single defender from wave one. Not having enough luck buffs (or buffs in general) from the shrines makes the enemy stunners lethal.

Not that it matters now. Quit playing, like I said in the other thread. Too many months and hours spent on this game, with no visible progress.

Well, you run three Epics with a 2 dot and one of your leg is lvl 90. If it's been months you've been playing, I call this bad team creation/management on the long term. If you are a free player or almost, you need absolutely to foresee accurately your team development according to the game meta, given you can get your couple of monthly greater essences (tower and monthly rewards, plus the colored ones you can win in dungeons). With nowadays dungeons, you need at least three legs at lvl 105 in high gold (although I heard more and more veteran players tank in low). In high I struggle with full leg team at lvl 105 (two fully awoken, including Astral Watcher). The stun mechanic is indeed very powerful but also not very fun, even if counterable (it basically only makes battles longer) and it seems its return is rather unpopular. On one hand I understand it because the potential in attacking teams is just so big and it really takes drastic measures to stop it, on the other I hope developers can think of an alternative for the sake of not discouraging too many players.
In my case, wood nymph striked hard as shortly before she appeared I had just invested many essences I had saved in Anubis and against statue my cleanser started dying fast. I had to think for a while to figure out an all new team, according to not only which creatures but also which dots combinations I had at disposal (for instance I run megalodon even if I would favor blue dragon only because of the dots synergy). Then once sure of next plan, there is two options: either buy your awakenings so you can use your new party straight away, either hang in there the best you can until you get the essences you miss.
About not being able to beat folks with 100+ lvls above you unless you're a whale, that is not true. I was VIP 5 for 8 months and could beat VIP10+ folks sometimes 200 lvls above me. There is of course better players than me out there and some perform rather well at VIP1 or even VIP0 (100% f2p), but that is also a bit hardcore on the grinding.

At any rate, it's always sad to see players quitting and I still think a platinum tier to mitigate the tanking would help tremendously (at least as transition before/if they move to a % reward system in the future), as the difference between top players in high gold exploiting and the average low gold player is like night and day, yet they end up in the same pool (players with 2 months vs players with a year). Sadly this situation hinders the game design.

I hardly think developers ignore these issues as you say in the other thread but rather it's complex to find a solution and takes time to implement. Communication with community could be improved.

Pfft. That's what I'm using because that's all I have.

Didn't get any creatures with four dots (any rarity) until three months in. And I wasn't able to beat the tower for essences until recently, so what you see there is all of the essences that I got after the months of play. I somehow missed out on getting one from my first month, must started a day too late on that month. And I was never able to figure out how to get essences for the epics, the pvp seems to be main source of those, and I couldn't make it high enough there.

Many of my dungeon creatures are two dot, because again, that's all that the RNG ever gave me: almost all of my 3+ dots ended up being fliers.

At the time of quitting, I had eight 4d blues, two 4d whites, one 4d green (feilong, which is a freebie), and no reds, yellows, or blacks whatsoever.

It certainly doesn't help that I've got most of the achievements already, so the supply of gems has dried out and saving up for multi-summons takes a long time. Not that I can even remember the last time I got anything useful from those.

Then either you've not been playing since as long as you suggest (to me sounds more like a few months rather than 'months...', either you are playing very casually. If the first case, not your fault top players are exploiting the system killing the lower playerbase.
Edit: And just to make it clear as it was implied otherwise earlier, it's not just one guild doing it.

Another new nymph... I find the nymphs a bit boring, why only pretty women creatures, hope they will add some new basilisk or nightmare horse for a change, but those probably end up as legendaries...

Cecaelia (half octopus half humanoid) are among my favorite creatures, but they are a legendary, so i'm not really interested.

They could also fit as Epics IMO
I agree with you about nymphs, but mostly because it's always flyers, I lack ground mediums...

1.7 looks good, though I suspect the repetition of cycling creatures prizes in dungeon is to discourage veterans in getting something they already have.

Well, they never had a full set of nymphs to begin with, so I guess it makes sense to add the missing ones. We had blue (PWR), red (LUK) and white (LUK). Now they are adding green (DEF), black (all) and finally yellow. My OCD suffers from red and white both buffing LUK, even though Muse special is still PWR based. But at least I expect yellow nymph to buff ATK and special to be ATK based. I like the sized representation; giant - elemental - nymph, alternatively dragon - drake - ... There is potential for small elemental series, and medium + small counter color damage series.

A lot of obviously good stuff in 1.7, like auto pickup and creature buffs. Other things, like increased chance of specials triggering based on number of active dungeons, can go both ways depending on implementation.
