for which purpose? I think i'd prefer the snow eagle when awakened because of resistance buff (when defending)

Yes for defense, I currently have the snow Eagle working there but I also have a Nymph waiting and I was wondering if it would be worth it to farm and replace. The Nymph offers the regen to a couple of allies while hitting and the awakening seems worth it too so I'm hesitating. On the other hand I could keep buffing my Eagle and finish his awakening.

In some dungeons you could use them together and create a 'water wave' I suppose, so you could try raising both

In my current situation is more a matter of a quick replacement as it's in second wave, but you're on point with the team-up thing, they most likely provide good support together. The Nymph seems to have more HP but I don't know exactly how much she hits, maybe it wouldn't change much. I'll max them out both in the end anyway.

Ummm what's your starting point? As Andruids pointed out, levelling expenses vary with the star count.
Few examples below.
Levelling a small creature from scratch:
(* 1 - 15) + (** 1 - 30) + (*** 1 - 45) = (53 + 435 + 1980) X = 2468 X
Levelling an epic from scratch:
(*** 1 - 45) + (**** 1 - 60) + (***** 1 -75) = (1980 + 5310 + 11100) X = 18390 X = 1158 Medium gems (5970 X) + 504 Large gems (12600 X)
I don't know for sure how much Epic levels (75 - 90 levels) cost at 5 stars so I could not give an estimate. I'll hopefully have a 4d Ogre by the end of the event and I could test it.

Yes, sorry, Epic was at 5* so that's how much it took to get from 1-90

Greater Essences
Readers,
Which creatures have you guys used for your Greater Essences
I have a 4 dot Fire Giant I could take from 1 red star to 2 red stars granting 5% extra HP and Detonate DoTs chance of 30% when hit by a special ability.
or
My 3d Forest Giant and 3d Demon could gain 10% PWR to heal and 25% heal vs burned enemies, respectively, if I split my two Greater Essences between them per MarkMasters advice.
The latter seems pretty good since all three are on my main attack squad.

This month's Legendary challenge is now over!
Gratz to all who could get the Angel, including AxeTerio. 
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed the Angel has no res ability, but maybe that is because I played too much homm3.
Oh and yeah, eat that, Wake of Gods.

In this particular situation I might have change my mind. If you manage to raise the fire giant to lvl 105 at somepoint i might use the essences for him. Hes a devent defender and 4 dots is king!
But if all those bosses are in your main attack squad splitting the essences still is the best INO. The first awake bonus is overall pretty good.

Last week I was in strong group and had a lot of problem with climbing up.
Is there are any reason to register late over the week or you new season group will be random anyway?

I've already defeated kreegans in Enroth about ten times, but, as i can see, this world is corrupted by them too. Sad news.
