This is what happens when your whole skill tree and two main spells get countered by one skill of your opponent + your defense is nulified by vulnerability - another skill tree down

Elemental balance is a bit of a mixed bag, either wasted or really good. Sure makes for interesting games though!
In general I like the rock-paper-scissors in H5 but I would rather that the counters were softer. Things like remote control, cold death insta-killing phoenix/ballista etc are just hardcore For the record, remote control is not present on the map and phoenixes are now immune to ice spells/puppet. Couldn't find a way to protect warmachines from an instant death though. Only the bearhide wraps can do that(unit survives with 25% hp whether facing cold death or normal ice spells) and there is no 25% water proof ability for units.
I suppose the only way we could prevent ballista instant death would be to give bearhide wraps to everyone for free and boost ice spells by 25% but that would be plain cheesy

Those misses were bloody painful, I literally jumped off my seat! Up to that point I thought I could make something of that game, despite having mistaken my build (14 kn, 5 sp, no sorcery, master of ice 'cause of deep freeze but no circle of winter - lol) and having forgotten to use the druids in order to boost my sp (which Stevie was kind enough to remind me when I had 4 druids left ) )

Yes but a win vs the final boss carries more weight.

Yes, the game against Diegis went poorly for me. It began with a poor placement of units, allowing the evil necromancer to use his dark magic to frenzy my executioners, procing a retaliation from my cyclops's that wiped out a large portion of my army on the first turn. This caused the great Barbarian general to go into a fit of despair and declare the fight to be over already. It could be felt throughout the entire army as someone almost none of them were getting good morale despite their +5 morale bonus. A strong yet ill-fated charge from the Barbarian hordes hit nothing as they missed the poltergeists multiple times, and then the true horrors of the undead swarmed on top of them. Several crucial tactical mistakes later, and a complete lack of tambourine cohesion from the goblins, and the Barbarian army was in shatters, with only the sky daughters having fun revelling in the carnage.

A small correction, spellpower is useful for barbarians due to might over magic. Tent is also well worth picking since it counters lvl 1-3 curses on top of resurrecting 200hp per turn which helps in a battle of attrition. Defense as well to guard against spells like puppet and frenzy. Untamed cyclopes and maulers are risky in that respect. To be honest this game lasted longer than I expected, despite your heroic efforts. Your shamans had one hell of a last stand
Bloodlust achievement unlocked.

Elvin is there any way you could change that; missing the Ghosts on a first strike (whatever creature) would not cancel the second strike? Creatures like the Minotaur and Executioner really get hosed with that crap.
I not suggesting anything you don't already know. You know what I mean; I can strike Ghosts twice and miss both times and then count on the third hit to HIT. But in the video above, the Barbarian Hero (in effect) missed that stack of Ghosts 3 times in a row because of the auto-cancelling of the second strike. <imo> Not cool.

I didn't notice, during what time did that happen?
As for what you said, I don't think it's a good plan to attack ghosts directly - regardless of what unit you command. Executioners in particular are better off attacking weaker units or units unable to retaliate so as to build up rage fast. I find them too frail to risk their action on hit or miss attacks.
The only thing I can change on ghosts is the chance to miss.
