the comfort thread
this thread is all about comfort. it's a safe place by the fire in the sometimes harsh and cold internet. what comforts you? what makes you feel all snuggly wuggly? you can rest assured, that no one(including myself) will be mean to you here. this is a thread for cat-ish people who like to lie in the sun and drowse; for people who like to snuggle under blankets on a soft, warm bed, when it's cold and the wind is blowing outside. this thread is for people, like me, who love having their hair and scalp stroked by fingers(my great grandma used to do this to me when i was a child; i'd sit on the floor, and she'd comb her fingers through my hair and massage my scalp. those times with her were some of the best moments of my life). this thread is for people who love to just stand in the shower for over an hour and let the hot water beat on their shoulders and head; and for people who love to just relax in a warm bathtub, with towels cushioning their body and head, so they can just drift off to sleep. maybe even throw a few scented candles in there for good measure. a place where the heat is in one area of the house, and to cozy up to it is sheer bliss. a place where the house smells of fresh baking cookies or bread; where you curl up on a soft couch with a fuzzy, warm kitty cat(or a relaxed doggy), or with a naked, warm lover to spoon. a place where all the scents are inviting, and all the feelings are warm and cozy. 
here are your kitties, to keep you company:
here's a soft warm bed for you:
here's your mug of hot cocoa(you don't even have to share it!):
here's your apple butter on toast( ):
here's your nice warm fire, should you want to lie by it and sip your hot cocoa:
what comforts you, hc? grab a pillow and sit by the fire, and tell us.

When you make threads that you intend for long term participation, why dont you use capital letters like "The Comfort Thread" now. You're just going to press shift a few times and the title's going to be a proper one forever. This way it feels like a skewed picture on the wall that you want to get up and fix all the time.

artu: because it's about comfort. lower-case letters are more relaxed, don't you think? less serious.

He just does it the arabic way, no capitals here.

Damn it since I'm imminently moving apartments I'll have no opportunity to make a fire and post a pic from my chimney before I leave, and new apartment won't have a chimney.
I really find staring at the fire appeasing, like staring at a forest's river, it just empties my mind from all the bullcrap.

Another lost soul who cannot find comfort
One of the places where I could always find comfort was my childhood fortress. There is something about chilling out in a place you and your friends have built, especially when it has a second level accessible by a trapdoor and a palm tree leaf roof. Fantastic feeling to just stay there with the pattering of rain around you.
