First of all, thank you for effort very much And your English is fine, not neccessary to apologize for that, as the majority of us are not native speakers either

I took an extensive testing late afternoon today and I checked your mod. These are the results I came to:
BUGS WHICH ARE DEFINITELY FIXED
- Ancient treant: ranged attack now works as intended (no entangled)
- Firebird "aura of fire": now working only on friendly creatures and giving water immunity
BUGS I HAVE NOT EXPERIENCED (but as they're just occasional, I will be monitoring them further while playing with your mod to insure they are really fixed)
- Pretorian shield buff: now not random shield and not removing other buffs.
- Oak dryad buff: now is working properly and not removing other buffs
- Regen, stoneskin, Etc ...: now are not removed
- oak dryad: no bonus itself (it's funny because I am pretty sure the unit did provide bonus to itself before)
BUGS WHICH STILL PERSIST
- when ancient treant dies, the entagled is not removed
- treant living shelter: flying creatures now get an additional turn instead. Also does not activate on moral turns and sometimes randomly stopps working at all. (=this ability does whatever it wants )
- Ardent Dragon's "Fire Trail" works correct in the majority of combats. In the others, it shows zoom on the dragon and the game gets stuck (combat cannot be restarted or continue). Just an idea, but is it possible to exactly copy its properties from the original game? I think it was OK originally (not bugged). Or did you use it?

Anyway, thank you again and I hope you will keep trying to improve this game in any regard.

Hi, Just now i got finally fixed the Drydad Buff. No it applies to her self and heal treans.

one bug i hate is that oppurtunity retalation from the Guardians and justicars from haven faction works almost never at the moment... maybe u can fix that too if u was able to fix the dryads, good luck, hoping to see more from u (-:

just saw it Happening again that shielding buff wasnt on a marksman right from the start when i deployed, however, it is a lot better Overall from what ive observed so far, even if it is not 100% fixed (;

@more Bugs

hero gem and probably all earth Magic hereos gain x2 hero hero damage, is calculatet after hero Bonus damage from artifacts what makes it even stronger, with earthknowledge III

@Antalyan Can you tell me what flying creatures you used when you get the extra turn? i cannot reproduce it. I will investigate the fire trail and test it more, I have not experienced this bug.

@Moritzbradtke the bug you mentioned about shield is when you start the combat after unit deployment or is the buff given to a non adjacent unit?

cool Keep it up (: how do u repair the game, do you use any Special Software? i mean after deployment creatures sometimes dont have shielded but they should have it but it doesnt happen too often and is no big Problem at the Moment i think

I am using the editor and I had never used it before, Im just doing "trial & error" . I have never modded anything before this and I cant believe that the developers of the game weren´t able to fix some things like just change a line in the buff etc... I have zero knowledge about programing and these things.

For example to fix the bug in the dryad buff I just copied the Deer buff and change some things like icons and effects .

Does anyone know any ability in the game that it works similar to the living shelter effect that stops enemies?

heh, good idea (: skilled Firewall with fire Knowledge II is supposed to stop ememies that walk through it but i dont know if it works

Dozens of tests made today but unforunately, I have not reached the results /found out the information/ I wished:
- Living shelter: This ability is a mystery for me as it seems to work abolutely random. It sometimes works, sometimes not (a unit stops but receives additional turn with no tooltips). It is not connected to special enemy units or something like that, I found no regularity at all. On the other hand, as MB says, Master of Fire modifies Firewall to stop creatures exactly in the way the Living Shelter should (except the damage it deals ofc.) - no effect on flying and always stops walking units, even during additional moral turns.

- Fire Trail (an example how to reproduce):
1) Launch hotseat duels 2) Choose Tolghar vs. Dirael 3) Choose armies n.2 on both heroes 4) Use predefined combat map (no change of CM) 5)Launch Duel 6) Press "wait" for all units until a fire dragon's turn
7) Use fire dragon's ability, the error should occur

- One more interesting bug: I found out that if a hero has both earth and water magic expert skills AND water and earth magic wisdom perks, the Frost Bolt spell deals twice as much damage.

I can say your idea of using the working abilities to fix the broken ones is very simple but briliant You might be able to fix through this way some bugs you haven't touched yet. Anyway, there's absolutely no need to hurry: if I can share with you one small piece of advice, don't spend too much time with H7 Editor during one day; otherwise, you will start getting mad due to its crashing and you'll lose any taste to work with it

Unfortunately, I'm unable to help because the problems I was dealing with were very different. I had to solve how to "learn" the game recognize if the player is controled by AI (special scripts activation) or by human - anyway, you should see the results in THG2.0 hopefully coming soon. That's why any hero behaviour could not be set - the game does not allow you to modify AI behaviour for hero which might not be finally controled by AI.

Just try some options and see what it's going to do

HI @Antalyan, I tested with the settings you tell me and the error appeared but for me the cam is locked for 1 or two seconds after that I can activate the Fire trail normaly, its weird I have yet to do what you tell me about change it for the original files, I will take some tests then.

About the free turns with living shelter I just discovered that is not the living shelter itself what gives free turns , it happened to me with Fire wall. the free turns triggers for example when you are going to atack a treant (living shelter on) and the destination cell wich you selected for the atack is just the only one you pass through in the aura effect. the Same happens with fire wall, Target of you atack is behing of firewall, then you atack that unit behind firewall in the adjacent cell affected with firewall and then your unit doesnt do the atack and get a free turn, then you can attack.

Both skills use a command named "Interrupt" I think is the cause of the bug , not the skill itself.

I was testing an alternative for living shelter , I made it to reduce movement of adyacent creatures instead interrupt them, I am afraid that the "interrupt" command cannot be modified, I cannot find any item in the editor except as option in the tables of the creature skills.

And sorry for my english again probably something is wrong but this is a lot of text for me .

I tried to reinstall your mod but again, the game stucks just after activating the Fire Trail ability.

I have also some screenshots for you to see what happened:

And one more interesting situation with this ability:

You made a good discovery regarding the Living Shelter, keep up the great work! However, I am not sure what you mean by "I cannot find any item in the editor except as option in the tables of the creature skills" (although it's more likely the lack of explanation than language, don't be worry ) - You don't work with content browser in advanced h7 editor?

And two more bugs I found out:
- Earth Elemental is not immune to Earth Magic spell "Wasp Swarm"
- The ability "Soul Fire" of Valkyrie and Dis gets removed from a unit if a unit moves but still remain adjacent to valkyrie/dis.

I Am still testing with living shelter & fire Trail, I used the original files and it looks to work correctly now but I had discovered that the bug when the dragon does nothing and the movement green cells dissapear are caused because when you activate the ability the movement cells changes, it happens normally  when the dragon have obstacles or units near. Is probably caused because the ability toogle walk/fly for the Dragon.

I normally reproduce the bug even without mods moving the dragon in the first turn to the middle of the battle map, then if you have obstacles or units near , when you activate the skills the green movement area changes an it add more green cells and if you try to move to these new cells with the activated skill it just does nothing and it bugs, you can see ir activating/deactivating the skill some times.

And I discovered that the living shelter have a new bug, after activate the skill, in the next turn when you move the Treant ,it deactivate the spell that give +10def for itself , but the aura to cover allys and the interrupt effect persist in the cells where it was activated the first time. This one makes me crazy, I had edited it in a lot of different ways and still cannot find how to remove that aura.

Thank you for the tests. I will continue testing the living shelter, I'm a stubborn and this ability drives me crazy

Yes I checked the original Fire Trail ability as well. It has even more problems: It gets randomly activating and disactivating, and when attacking the enemy, it does not even display correct tooltip for hitting multiple enemies when the fire trail is on. I tested it in duel where only the dragon and ancient treant using living shelter were present, as it was such a terrible mess ...

That reminds me of one thing, you should probably realise that but I'll still mention that: You can modify/change the function of the ability (or any other thing, like the type of dragon's movement) to make the game work correctly.

Yes, I know. in the ability archetype I can test to increase movement points to fit the the area of fly movement type. the problem is that the fire trail skill archetype is linked to another archetype skill that toogle walk/fly when you activate/deactivate the skill, these walk/fly archetypes have almost no configuration options and I think these are the problem

I dunno where the bug is but I was playing and the map totally crashed. since then I cannot load saved games anymore.

Any tips for me ? the game just crash during the loading the map.

I've verified game files on steam. Maybe clean install is the solution?

@Antalyan: Ahem!! Me!! Game Modding!! NO WAY JOSE!!

Have no idea of what the heck Uziel was blabbing about. Was that some sort of an attempt to mod the game a wee bit or what was that all about?

PC configurations = Very good chance.

Using all kinds of utility programs/suites to improve the performance of my own PC = Very good chance.

Make a game work according to its initial bit mode coding(x86 and x64) = Very good chance.

Modifying already installed games by using already made mods from expert modders = Only on aging games that would require modding to make these games relevant again(only Heroes 5, so far).

Modding and coding for my own pleasure of doing so = 0% chance of ever happening now and the future.

hello every one

I can say something about how to fix some bugs£¬and why bug works£¬ because in my game£¬ I has already fixed it.  I think will enlighten U and me.

bug 11

use the editor .exe and open the ¡°H7SkillDefense.upk¡±

there are 3 files about preventive strike

open one of the preventive strike files, I doesn't remember which£¬maybe the ¡°preventive strike _buff¡±

open the code tree£¬U will find e line code named "this",

open the "this",  delete the code of " unlimited retaliation" , then , get in the game, it is all OK

why this bug works £¿

the author use ¡°this¡±code£¬want to make  " unlimited retaliation" special£¬but he doesn't find£¬
unlimited retaliation ability will aways work£¬when somebody attack your creature.
because in the default ability£¬the retaliation use the action ¡°melee attack¡±

so£¬ delete ¡°this¡± make the  " unlimited retaliation" not special£¬

now£¬in the game£¬the unit have " unlimited retaliation" and preventive strike

will preretaliation once£¬and aways retaliation each time when he been attacked.

the bug 12
works same as the 11£¬Coordination double strike only check enemy retaliation if or not after U attack him.
same as bug 15

bug 17
I don't think this is a bug£¬because campaign balance is the before version.
bug 18
not the bug£¬because campaign sets in special number, if the stats changes£¬ maybe U will never pass£¡
same as bug 19

bug 25
I agree this is AI action problem, and wait for somebody know how to change AI¡­¡­
now, not have good method to fixed, but we can change spell duration turn to make firewall, blizzard not too imba.
change last 3 turns to 1.

just the author choose the wrong type code, I don't think immunity including your enemy is bug, because Fire bird have high temperature around anybody. £¨laugh£©

I know some more bugs £¬such as nova can damged normal to Magic Immunity, not half damge.
poison can damge construct and undead

above bugs can fixed when U changes the "tag" code
   such as from ¡°effects¡±to"spell " type,
   such as from ¡°effects¡±to" poison " type,
in the ¡°H7CrAbilitiesSpecial.upk¡±

by the way£¬I can't  download spanish freind's bug fix file¡­¡­ T_T
I hope someone can email me one of the file, and maybe I can have a idea to fixed another

not immune is simple to fix£¬change the ¡°tag¡±from ¡°nagetive effect¡±to¡°spell¡±£¬but H7SpellsEarthMagic.upk uncooked maybe is not easy.

the 2nd I can't understand, because my endlish is very poor ¡­¡­
