At least they're still working on Might&Magic to justify the money they harvested.

Damn-it Ubisoft, couldn't you invest your money in making a good Heroes game rather than this?

So this is what, the 3rd time I have to pay for the same assets to play a M&M game? Again 3rd party drm? How is this not free to play? I mean that kinda dispels any incentive to even give it a try, but I guess they had to put it behind a pay wall to complement their disastrous financial year with Heroes 7.

Yeah, why would we pay something like that? Heroes Online and Duel of Champions were still free and the latter was beloved by many people.

It's actually the 4th. I'd have to pay for the 4th time for the same assets of Heroes 6, MMX - Legacy and Heroes 7. At least for DoC and HO I didn't had to pay anything in spite of that.

I remember something about Heroes 7 ... something about not having enough budget for creature models, so they had to rehash old stuff. Something about models being crazy expensive or something.

And now this.

Unbelievable.

I was almost tempted to say that you get 19.99 for acquiring the game, rather than having to pay for it.

I got a free code yesterday. I'm not experienced in these kind of games but it seems to be a MOBA and quite a simple one. It is disguised with some sort of miniature theme but in the end it is just a duel game with one hero per side and limited number of units, fighting in real time.

The fighting arenas seem to be small as well, and something that has surprised me is that you can't actually move your hero around, you just can select a target for you attacks and it will move towards it by itself. On and the rest of the units have their own AI too, you can just assign different strategies BEFORE the battle.

There is a game shop where to buy new miniatures with the points you get by wining combats, which surprise me because this doesn't seem to be a free to play (it is almost 20 bucks right now to get the early access). But I very much doubt that shop is there and they aren't going to monetize upgrades through there. So it seems to be like a free to play game but with an entry price (lovely).
By the way, the models, skills and spells seem to be all reused from the last games starting with M&M6.

All in all I'm not interested at all, and I don't think that most of the franchise fans will be either. Regarding the rest of the potential player base, I think there are many other MOBAs that are deeper and probably more appealing games right now, so it is hard for me to believe that they can make a dent on the market with this one, but who knows.

"But Heroes never die", says the announcer. Official trolling, ladies and gentlemen. The fun fact is that I would be more compelled to buy this one than buying H7 for sure, if they were released at the same time. After seeing what H7 ended like, and seeing that they are trying to lure innocent victims with early access, I feel like going to some Law books to find a crime for daring so much against people's feelings.

How do miniatures and real time combat go together well?

Like in "let's reduce the number of resources because Heroes is not a management game" or "let's remove town screens to increase the pace of the game and let the player focus on the strategy"

Seriously, the miniature thing has no relevance. You get heroes and units as miniatures that you may customize (paint), and the UI seems to show a table with dioramas and figurines. Other than that it is just a MOBA where your "miniatures" are 3D animated models banging on each other.

Painting figures? Sure this fits so well with the Heroes fantasy! They did it, they copied Warhammer even more than they did with h5! Congrats, guys!

Ah, glad to see Ubisoft is still tactfully avoiding innovation.
