I don't recall what is was about or who did it (seems like it was a conspiracy?) but one time an April-fools day post read pure fun in what followed.

About 2006 april day, valeryi decided to remove qp system and everyone was set back to none. I had only one or two so I could brag the indifference and "I am above that" but several big qp hunters went on a toxic rant, insulted everyone including the administrator. When finally it was uncovered as joke, ~2 days later, they had no choice but quit.
Also the guy who fooled everyone with dying from cancer while he was hunting for tank graphics in Panzer forums was a fun moment.

Also, didn't we have a guy that posed as a young woman (picking the right avatar to bronze his hoax) that fooled a few of the guys here?

It was actually the same dude. The Duke_Falcongate was I think the most blown out drama hoax we had here.

I actually read some of that thread, but it was much later on, after all the penalties were already applied, must've been some moment too yeah.

That's right, I remember that name & the Cancer bit and now that I was also po'd with the rest, that we'd responded to that you-know-what.
Edit" I should add a memory of mine that wasn't particularly funny at the time but I do laugh at it now.
I'd never been part of any gaming forum. I joined here because during the days of H2 & H3 I'd made some maps and shared them with family and friends. Anyway, after a few years after the release and I was able to finally run H5 TotE, I thought I'd join and ask some questions about making maps in TotE.
My first reply was from Sal..."Why?" <LOL> At the time I was like wth? But now? Years later...even though I went on to do fairly well with the non-user-friendly Editor, I understand Sal both then and now.

Have a faint memory reading through some intriguing flame war on HC years before I become a member. It had to do with religion or Islam or something and someone wrote an amusing short story about it.
For myself, best memory is when I went through the gender balance of the NWC games vs. the Ubi games and an Ubi-fan (who was all ablaze about the feminist nature of Ubi's half-naked big-breasted Centaurs) dismissed it all as "random numbers".

my good memories(that haven't been mentioned here already), are of me releasing my patch updates, people releasing content for modders, scripters helping me, etc.
stuff like that primarily, are my fondest memories of this place. the tomfoolery will always come second to productivity; at least, for me.
edit: oh yeah, one that wasn't mentioned here yet: the time cor expanded my grasp of human existence by posting the link decrying that atoms/molecules in our bodies weren't constant, and that they were constantly being replaced by entirely new atoms/molecules(raising the pertinent question: where, physically speaking, is our "self"?). there were others, i'm sure, but that one in particular stands out. i guess that also falls under productivity though, as it is a mind-expansion thing.

also.. holy crap it's been 5 years since Dukey got literally hung by his own -qps. Wtf?! Seems like only yesterday lol that Cor threatened to punish me for trying to smooth things over (I don't even remember wtf happened all a haze now)  .
And holy **** I don't think anyone with sense believed Mentat was a chick, I mean the whole thing started cause people were suspicious IIRC.
o well, still not as bad as Jaba and Nighty tho.

Here's another one, when Cor gave Fred a qp for his patch, but Fred hasn't released the update yet!
He went all "NOOOOOOOOOO I AM NOT WORTHY YET", rushed into the VW and opened a thread full of asses
It was still more erotic than anything else but Cor really didn't appreciate, I recall he said "I will never give anymore +QPs to anyone!", hopefully he kept on giving them, aside for Fred.
I recall a few other people were pissed at Fred but to me it was a fantastic laugh, so cheers Fred lol
